We had a reservation for party of 7 and upon arrival, we waited about 15 minutes for them to set up tables. Once seated, the menus was confusing but I knew it was nothing but melted cheeses and chocolates. Once we get our cheeses, breads, and vegetables...the waitress wasn't informative by explaining that u may control the setting of the temperatures of the cooking cheese. We ate barely melted cheese at first before I figures out by turning up the electric grill. To make the matter worse, Everytime when she came to the table, she would rudely turned the temperature gauge down. In the end, she messed up our checks and tried to charged items that other people in my party already paid. At one point when we were trying to straighten up the bills, she had an attitude. Anyway, if u like to waste ur money then this is a perfect place to throw away for cheese and chocolate. I think I rather go the buffet and get my $ s worth. read more

What you are really paying for at any Melting Pot is the experience; after all, why would anyone pay so much for food you cook yourself? The answer is because fondue is fun! This location looks nice and the food is good (standard Melting Pot quality). We used a Groupon, which was nice and was no hassle, unlike at some places. The service was slow (our server, Ryan, was great, I don't think it was his fault), but they were very accommodating of the 2-year-old who tagged along with our group of 5. Also, their hostess was strange; she ignored me more than once when I tried to tell her we were going to the bar but wanted to check in with her in case we could be seated earlier. I was the only one standing there, but she acted like I wasn't there, even though I was trying to get jer attention. Bathrooms are clean. Overall, we would return, but only for a special occasion because of the price and because one can only eat so much fondue. read more

I am a huge Melting Pot foodie. I have been to numerous different ones and I have actually been to this one four times since it opened in November. It is different than the other ones because of the Fondone, but I am not opposed to it. Amazing food and very good decor. The problem that I had and that still bothers me is this: I had an American Express gift card with a balance of $500 (new gift card, which I had explained to the waitress for our $150 bill). She advised me that the restaurant was only allowed to put 80% of my bill on the gift card because that was restaurant policy. This was extremely frustrating to me as I was depending on paying with that gift card instead of my credit card. I was there over two weeks ago and it is still bothering me because I am such a big Melting Pot fan and have never heard of such a preposterous "policy". I do not know if I will be dining at this location in the future because I am so put off by this. read more

I don't normally write reviews unless it was a really exceptional or poor experience. Unfortunately, I need to write this one up as poor for me, in addition to being overly expensive for what you get for your money. I don't mind paying a lot for a good meal as long as the experience is enjoyable. Aside from the company of those joining me, it was not the experience I look forward to when dining out. The type, quality and amount of food provided for the appetizer/dessert fondues were ridiculous. Boring, stale bread, discolored vegetables, apples, marshmallows, pound cake, Rice Krispies treats, and cookies are really not up to my standards of an upper scale restaurant. If I'm going to pay $60 per person for a meal, I'd like it to include adult foods (I'm over Rice Krispies treats and marshmallows). I had the "experience" and while the entree foods were fresh, this is not something I'd do again. If you like to relax and be served your food, this is not the restaurant for you. P.S. the $60 per person didn't include any alcohol. Sorry this one's not for me. read more

They will be closed in a few months. Came for my daughters birthday as she had a great time at the center city location a couple years back. The evening started off with the looks from other customers as we came through the door with 3 younger girls like we are dining at a steakhouse with an intimate setting..come on now. We were seated and everything started off great but then our server forgot to bring our drinks, waters and sodas. I asked twice in a 20 minute period about them, and nothing. I ended up going to the bar and getting them myself. Strike 1. As the food started coming out, the waiter brought the drinks with the food and never asked about the ones at the table! Whatever. The cheese fondue was going well up until the pots started burning/smoking on the table. 3 waiters/waitresses come out of nowhere and start removing the pots and switching them out with new ones. While doing so, they take our bread and some of the veggies in the process and never return them to the table. Great, I hope everyone had enough cheese fondue. To top it off they only brought back 2 of the three cheese pots. Strike 2. We are now almost 2 hours into our dinner before realizing our waiter never took the entree order. After taking it, that at least came out in a timely manner. I was talking to the other waitresses off and on and they were saying it was extremely busy that night and they were having a difficult time keeping up. The philly location was twice as busy on a Friday night and their waiters had waaaay more experience! Our waiter never came back to ask about refills or just to check in. As the dessert was coming out I couldn't help to sum up our experience...bad seating, mediocre service, and what seemed to be a staff lacking experience. Strike 3. The manager took money off the bill after I asked. In which her response was, "oh yea we were already thinking about that." No questions and no concerns as to why. So, to sum it up, 3 and half hours for decent food, but a bad experience, bad service and lax attitudes...overpriced! I'm afraid to say the melting pot just might melt away from that location. read more

I cannot believe how terrible this chain has become. We ordered three "crave combos" (cheese, salad, chocolate) plus three "small plates" (which should be called minuscule plates). We waited FOREVER for the cheese course to come. The cheese fondue was cold and they brought us one teeny dish of vegetables, one Teeny dish of fruit with about 4 bites of apple and grapes, and one bowl of bread. When we asked for more (since my toddler finished the 4 pieces of broccoli in about one minute) it took FOREVER for more to come. After the salad, it then took FOREVER for the bullion to arrive. We stared at the bullion for a really long time before they finally brought the food to cook in it. The small plates had about 5 bites of steak, 4 shrimp, and 4 bites of salmon in total. We knew we would need more an ordered another round. Beware. You get charged full price for another "small" plate of each. After being told that we would be getting the dessert menu right away so they could prepare it to be ready as soon as we were finished with the entrees, we waited FOREVER again just for menu. After we ordered dessert, we watched almost an entire quarter of a football game and dessert still hasn't come. When it finally arrived it was cold, so we still couldn't eat it. All told, the meal took more than 2.5 hours, I ate a salad and some vegetables since I gave the entrees to my kids so they wouldn't starve and it was $150 (without drinks). The Melting Pot was a fun and filling dining experience. To start, the decor is beautiful. We were promptly greeted and our reserved table was ready on time. We tried the cheese fondue, coq au vin fondue with honey citrus duck and rosemary filet, the pot sticker and risotto fondone, and chocolate fondue. All of the items we ordered were excellent. The flavors of marinaded raw meats were impressive. The cuts of duck were tender, lean, and not gamey. The fondone was flavorful and perfectly sized for sharing. The chocolate fondue is a delectable dessert and was the perfect ending to our meal. Our server was attentive and provided us with great ordering recommendations. The bar offered a nice selection of wine, specialty drinks and beers, including locally sourced options. We were impressed with the many gluten free options, including gluten free bread and other dippers. We will be returning to the Melting Pot soon. read more
