We finally got the Melting Pot experience! Although our hometown in San Diego has one, it gave us the opportunity to enjoy an interactive meal in a new location. Bridgette, our server was amazing! We looked up the menu before our reservation just to see what was served and EVERYTHING looked so good! There is a 4 Course option which is a great way to enjoy an amazing variety of the menu ( cheese fondue, salad, fondue cooking style & entree selection, & chocolate fondue). We opted for à la carte, since we wouldn't indulge the chocolate fondue. Bridgette was so patient in answering all of my questions, since it was a bit overwhelming just glancing at the menu. LOL. We picked the Fiesta cheese ( aged cheddar, Emmantelar, Sam Adams Boston Lager, house made salsa, and of course- diced jalapeño upon request!) We decided to add chopped bacon to the Fiesta. I wish this cheese was more gooey than how it was. We also got the Spinach Artichoke ( Butterkäse, fontina, Parmesan, vegetable bouillon, spinach, artichoke hearts, garlic, & Tabasco sauce). Now this was the ooey gooey cheese I was expecting to have. The Tabasco was very subtle. The cheese fondue accoutrements were Artisan bread ( French/ sourdough bread, baby carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, tortilla rounds, and my personal fave- DICED GREEN APPLES!). If you run out of any of these accoutrements, you can always get a refill! Hubby was so ecstatic over the Spinach Artichoke fondue- this gave us a reason to dupe this when we get back home! When it came time for the fondue cooking method and our entree selection- the both of us already felt defeated ( LOL ) within our second bites. We thought we could let our bellies rest a bit between breaks. We decided to cook the rest of our proteins and vegetables in our Mojo broth and call it a day! We took these back to our room and made a pit stop at Whole Foods the following day. We both got the Classic entree selection. And we're able to substitute the shrimp for other items. We did the Complete Fondue Experience for two at The Melting Pot, and it was such a fun and memorable dinner! For the appetizer, we had the Wisconsin Cheddar fondue, super tasty and full of flavor. I ordered the Melting Pot Salad with honey mustard dressing. At first i thought it sounded a little strange but it turned out to be one of the best dressings I've ever had! My partner really enjoyed his Wisconsin Wedge Salad too. For the entrée, my partner got the Steak Lovers and loved it. the meats were tender and flavorful. I ordered the Classic and while the steaks were great i wasn't a fan of the Memphis-style dry rub pork. Also one of my shrimp wasn't deveined (lol) but overall still delicious. For dessert we ended with the Flaming Turtle.a mix of chocolate and caramel fondue. SO good!! Definitely a highlight of the night. Our server Mary was amazing! She was so helpful, knowledgeable about the menu and incredibly sweet. She even surprised us with congratulations chocolate covered strawberries since I'm pregnant which made the night extra special. The service was exemplary. I have to say from the moment I called to make our reservation then calling because we ended up being in the area about an hour earlier than expected, to our waiter, everyone was very nice and accommodating. One thing I really like when I made the reservation and told them if was for my wife's birthday, when we were sat they knew her name. They greeted her with a happy birthday saying her name and again at the end of the meal. I know that's a little thing but it makes you feel special and I have never seen another place do that. The food was great. This is a four course meal starting with your cheese fondue. We got the fiesta one which had salsa and jalapeño in it. It was really good. Honestly it's easier just to say everything was great, we didn't have a single complaint about the food at all. Surprisingly the pork might have been my favorite but you also have the try to Gorgonzola sauce on the herb steak. The ambiance was very nice and intimate. I loved our table where we had a view out to Main Street, I thought the building across the street (the Felt Building) was just so beautiful. I've never been to New York but it made me think that's what it might look like there. I also loved that the back of the booths are tall so it shields you from anyone around you really giving you a personal space at your table. I haven't been here in years! Generally I am a fan of fondue and the fondue we got wasn't bad. I'm just not sure it was worth the amount of time you have to spend (no less than 2.5 hours) or the money ($180 for two). The cheese was delicious (Alpine for the win) especially with apples. Many yummy sides to choose from. The chocolate divine. The meat, cooking in seasoned water was a little yucky. Choose the grill option if you want to enjoy a variety of meats. The sauces they provide for the meat was the highlight. We also had a weird experience with the host. Some general grumpiness about our group and two of our crew that were 10 minutes late. Contrasted by our wonderful and attentive server. Overall it was a fun activity during the holiday season but I'm not sure I'll be back any time soon. read more

Mehhhh. All the way Mehhh! We arrived at 6:30 and are leaving at 9. Not because we took our time but because we had to wait 30+ minutes between each course. By the time we got our entree, we were starting to get full from the appetizer. Dessert was a struggle. So full that it tasted gross at the end but we know it was good. I don't eat any seafood and asked to have the seafood separate from the meat and was told that the plates are already made. ??? What? And that only some of the meat would be touching seafood but when it arrived, everything was touching seafood. She had them make a separated plate for us (which should have happened when 1st asked.). The entire 2 1/2 hrs was a bad experience. To add everything on top of this... if you have less than 5 ppl in your group, you all have to share the same flavor pot. Bad business choice imo but to each their own. Not sure if it's because every table is almost hiding and we were easily forgotten or what?!?!? read more

This was the worst experience we have ever had at a Melting Pot. Our server started with us but forgot about us so our broth ended up evaporating from boiling for too long. By the time he came back, it was half gone and he added the wine to it which was super overpowering. Another waitress came and brought more broth. They forgot to give us the veggies with our cheese starter so we had just bread to dip it in. By the time we actually got our meats everything was evaporated again. When dessert came around we asked for it to go. All we for was chocolate and brownies. No fruit or marshmallows or anything. This was not worth the price of the meal at all. I even emailed and sent a Facebook message with no response. The visit was horrible and we don't have a local one anymore since it got blown up over Christmas in Nashville. So for us to go and splurge on dinner, it was a disaster. We won't be going back to this one ever and quite possibly none ever again. read more

The rose petals on the table were a nice touch. The Classic Alpine (Gruyère) was definitely a great pick. The hint of white wine in it really elevated the flavor. The sauces given with the meat really brought the whole meal together. The teriyaki steak was our favorite. The salad was nice, light and refreshing. The Oreo covered marshmallows are a must! July 22nd my husband, daughter, granddaughter, and myself had a delightful evening at the Melting Pot. It was so fun to have a three course fondu meal-- melted cheese for dipping bread and veggies, hot broth for cooking meats and melted chocolate for dipping fruits, marshmallows and chunks of cake! Our server Maggie was pleasant, accommodating, knowledgeable, and efficient. We had a chance to converse with the manager. Tanya was very friendly, obviously enjoys her job, and surprised us with a little take home treat. She runs a "good ship"! This restaurant is on the high end for expense, but I recommend it for a positive, unforgettable evening. read more
