My best friend and I dined at The Mexican last Sunday, 6/14/26. Here we are, back home across the country and still talking about how amazing our experience was. For appetizers, we shared the pork belly, lobster elote and shrimp ceviche. It is very rare that I enjoy seafood, but the lobster elote was absolutely amazing. The ceviche was great, and the pork belly was to die for. Both the food runner and our server David prepared our plates and served the both of us, an exceptional addition to our experience. For dinner we shared the Enchiladas Chilangas and black angus tacos, both were also AMAZING. The black angus tacos seriously almost made me shed a tear. We finished the night with the champecana cake, which of course, was amazing. The interior of the restaurant is very well kept and gorgeous, the outside of course is to die for. We sat on the patio with a view that left us in awe and was the perfect cherry on top. What really made the experience so special was the service given to us by David and the whole team. Immediately, the hostess's were welcoming and polite. David was so helpful, he guided us through the menu, prepared our food for us, and anticipated any and everything we could've needed. He even asked us if we wanted us to take a picture of us and got all of our angels! (Important!!) the support staff was also especially helpful and attentive to our needs. Our previous experiences visiting spots in Miami left us underwhelmed especially in regard to service, but this team completely shifted this narrative and left us feeling taken care of and happy. I'm not sure how this place could receive a bad review, as everything we experienced was 10/0. A huge shoutout to David again as he made our experience especially unforgettable, he is definitely a gem! We are missing The Mexican and can't wait to hopefully come again next time! read more

I was really hoping this would be a hit. The place is stunning. Super vibes! The bar area is beautiful at night with Brickell lit up in the background. We sat in the bar area with high top tables. They had a DJ going which was nice but you could still have conversation. Not super loud. The food was not memorable for me. At all. I'll be honest ..I went in skeptical. A Mexican restaurant on Brickell Key sounded like a recipe for all hype and no substance. Happy to report I was wrong. The food was genuinely very good, and the appetizers alone made the whole meal worth it. Both cocktails I had were refreshing and delicious. The Perfect Cucumber was vodka, Rumhaven coconut, cucumber, and lime. It was clean, light, and dangerously easy to drink. The Mujeres Divinas brought a little more complexity with hibiscus-infused Mi Campo blanco, Chartreuse, cucumber, agave, and lime. Both were exactly what you want on a warm night in Miami. The Lobster Elote is a must order..Maine lobster knuckle and claw meat with chipotle cream, Oaxaca cheese, roasted corn, Mexican crema, fresh Fresno chiles, and Tajín ... I could have eaten the entire plate by myself and had zero regrets. We also got the Aguachile de Ribeye, layered with avocado, radish, red onion, arugula, and cilantro in a roasted garlic and piquín chile with truffle oil. Think steak salad, but make it exciting. The Enchiladas de Pollo were fine .. solid but nothing that stood out. The Filet and Bone Marrow Tacos, on the other hand, tenderloin cooked in bone marrow, served on handmade tortillas. Worth it. We debated between the Cuatro Leches and the Campechana, and I'm glad we went with the latter ... vanilla ice cream, flaky sweet pastry, pistachio, walnuts, and dulce de leche. Simple but really good. Service was attentive and the overall experience was smooth. I'd sit outside. The patio has a gorgeous waterfront view that makes everything taste better. read more

Great new restaurant with a nice water way views on the terrace. Food was actually very good and strongly recommend it. The place has a nice modern chic theme that makes you feel you are in an upscale restaurant in Tulum or Riviera Maya. Music was pretty good too - they have a DJ that plays pretty good music. Bar has a lot of sitting. The hosts were accommodating, we were about 30 minutes past our reservation due to the traffic in downtown. This restaurant is a must! This is my third time here since they just opened a few weeks ago and I will keep coming back! The food is so flavorful and quality! The ambience is unique and beautiful. From the moment you enter, you can tell there was a lot of love thought in art but into Dee Dee designing and decorating the Mexican restaurant.. The service is top-notch. There are more staff working in this restaurant than the last three restaurants I've done at, combined.! Everyone is friendly and happy to be here and help, The one dish that I've repeated all three times is the Lobster enchiladas. Fresh lobster meat, and the sauce is divine! My husband loves the filet mignon enchiladas and we brought my mom here for her birthday dinner and she had a tortilla soup shared some of our enchiladas, etc.. Beautiful vibes, gorgeous view, and the best ambience. Perfect for groups, celebrations or a romantic date night.. I love that. Amazing over all experience! I don't know where to begin! Location is waterfront in Brickell Key! When you walk in aesthetics are breathtaking! The Lobby showcases their extensive tequila selection! You're greeted by beautiful hostesses who show you to your table. Jay our server was very helpful and educated on the menu items. He was very fun as well. Me and my sis ordered black angus tacos,lobster elote,filet mignon,tropical margarita,pistachio dessert and had espresso martinis! The star of the show is the Sea Bass ceviche this dish Will make you wanna slap your momma! Lol We had a chance to watch the sunset over the water as well! We left so satisfied and happy! We came for apps and drinks at the bar. Got there right when it opened at 4pm. They were still setting up and seemed a little disorganized; however, super attentive and friendly. New staff with startup restaurant learnings for sure but you can tell it's going to be short lived. The food was delicious and drinks were great and the restaurant is beautiful! We were in a rush but would have loved to stick around and experience the outdoor bar which opened a little later. The bathrooms weren't working which was not great but they were nice to take me to service bathrooms. Overall we want to come back and experience dinner and other dishes. Would recommend! read more

Brickell key just got one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in Miami. Walking in to the Mexican you're first hit with a wall of mezcals and tequila giving you the vibes that you're in for a journey of great Mexican food. The service was as good as you'd expect at a classy Brickell key restaurant where the servers are constantly making sure your drinks are topped off and that their freshly made tortilla chips and salsa are there for easy pickings. When it comes to the food I was blown away with how fresh all the ingredients were and you can see how the chef really took notice to make every dish phenomenal. Everything was amazing but the milagro boneless ribeye with bone marrow to match really hit my soul. All in all I give this place a 10/10 for service, authenticity and transporting me back to Mexico all in one night. read more

Food, service and drinks 100/10. We ordered Aguachile de Ribeye appetizer and that was so amazing, the meat was cooked to perfection and there was so much flavor. I will still think about this dish years to come. Our server was very attentive and took the time to make sure we were well taken care of especially since my boyfriend was so kind to let them know it was my birthday. We were running behind and ended up calling to let the female host know that we were about an hour behind. She could have given us a little less attitude. I literally don't know where to start with this review. When I say The Mexican exceeded my expectations, it's an understatement! From the impeccable service, to the food quality and taste, to the beautiful views and ambiance...I'm sold! For a brand new restaurant, I can say that the kinks had to have been worked out on the front end. From the hostess stand on in, The staff was not only good looking but so professional and personable. There were no delays between courses with check ins etc. And our server Jay was a delight! The space is beautiful and overlooks the water which I love! Now to the food, we started with the sea bass ceviche, and OMG! The flavors were insane. Best ceviche I've had hands down. I can't forget the house chips and sauces they bring out to start. Each sauce was very very good. My fav was the truffle. For my entree, I had the filet which was cooked to perfection and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were delicious and flavorful as well, as was our lobster elotes side. Chunks of lobster and again, the flavor combo was just sooo good! I started with a Paloma, Aperol cocktail that was very good also. Ended up over indulging on dessert and an espresso martini, and I'd do it again! Lol. I can't recall the name of the one I chose but it's a customer fav for a reason! Layers of ice cream, caramel, pistachio, and pastry. I was in foodie heaven. The whole experience was immaculate. Had a terrific experience here. It's actually somewhat hard to find as it's in the lobby of an office building which our Uber driver couldn't find. There are a few small signs inside the lobby but nothing on the outside of the building telling you where it is. Once inside, it's a beautiful restaurant, although it looks like a few banquets are on back order. They start you off with fresh baked chips and several varieties of salsa, all very unique and flavorful. We initially ordered the lobster elote, which was rich and creamy but not exactly overflowing with lobster. Would order again though. Followed up with lobster enchilada, and filet and bone marrow taco. Both very tasty, but again, skimpy on the lobster. The filet was perfectly cooked but the bone marrow was pretty devoid of flavor and not substantial. Finished off with one of the best chocolate cakes in the city. Since they have only been open a few weeks, I would give them a little more time to get into a groove. Will definitely return in another month or so. read more

We came in for our anniversary for the first time as we live on Brickell Key and heard a lot of hype about The Mexican. The atmosphere was great. The service was attentive and knowledgeable. The table we were given was terrific and the hostess gave us a handwritten congratulations card which was a nice touch. Beyond this there were several missteps below the service show: 1. We ordered drinks at the bar first. While the bartenders were highly engaging, when we asked for Mezcal in our cocktails they were happy to oblige then upsold us 40% per drink! ($26 vs the listed $18, and didn't say a word) 2. The congrats card was a nice gesture but despite knowing our names, it was not personalized so they likely have a pile of these they prepare as generic, then pass out. 3. We overheard the manager saying they'd host us for two glasses of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. However, a friend found out we were there and sent us two glasses instead. The restaurant accepted his payment and didn't do anything special for us in return. We spent close to $400 for two drinks each, two appys, two entrees and no dessert or coffee. The Mexican has a lot of potential but there is opportunity to strengthen the value and live up to the hype through a sincere execution of special touches and pricing transparency. read more

From the moment we were greeted by the hostesses to the final goodbye from the servers, the staff was incredibly kind and proactive. The level of hospitality here is top-notch and sets a new standard for the local dining scene. Of course, the service is only half the story--the food was spectacular. We explored a large portion of the menu, and there wasn't a single miss. Every dish was delicious, and the vibe was spot on. The Mexican is the total package: great atmosphere, amazing service and delicious food. From the moment we approached the building, even the Valet was incredibly welcoming greeting us and opening the building door and we didn't even use valet - we walked there! A welcome bubbly drink was a very nice touch at check-in. Augustine provided exceptional service - very personable, fantastic recommendations and great excitement about the food. Everything we had was amazing but favorites probably were were the lobster elote, ribeye aguachile and Wagyu steak. The lobster elote was so rich and creamy, it was almost like a risotto! The restaurant is beautifully-designed, even the plates were so beautiful. We noticed great care taken to clean the tables in between service with multiple people coming to full clean down tables. Even when serving food, the attention to detail to wipe small spills and ensure a clean area was impressive. Arrived to celebrate a once per lifetime occasion and was seated at a hightop in the bar, which was okay for some of us and uncomfortable for others. Waited about a half hour for our drinks order to be taken and maybe another half hour for the drinks to be served, as we were eating our apps. Was not asked if we wanted a second drink until we were eating our entrees and waiter left with half our order and did not come back with requested wine list until we were nearly done with entrees, so some of us did not get a second drink and our very small water glasses were not refilled for long period and sat empty while we ate. Finally a server passing by noticed this and refilled our water, but the waiter was nowhere to be seen until we finished our entrees. He then opened a complimentary bottle of champagne in honor of our celebration, which was very nice, but would have been better enjoyed earlier. He made a show of cutting up the dessert and then started paying attention to our table at time to give us the check. We were there about 3 hours. As for the food, the creamed corn app with lobster was sweet and light on lobster, so good but not great. The enchiladas suizas were very bland and nothing like the typical, and also almost cold. The ice cream dessert and the cuatro leches cake were just okay. The best dishes were the several tacos we had, notably the one with marrow mixed with the beef was very good. I know all the reviews say this is not a taco stand, but to me it felt like a very pretty, very expensive, high-level taco place. So, make of all that whatever you will. For the cost, I can think of several places in Miami where the service and food would be much better. But if you want to hang out for 3 hours in a pretty bar and drink tequila (beer selection is awful) and maybe have a taco or two, might be up your alley. That is, if you can hear because the DJ at the bar plays the music very loudly. At our table, we had to speak loudly to hear each other. So, I guess it's whatever you are looking for. Last night we had the pleasure of dining at this amazing restaurant. we were greeted as if we were old friends, escorted to our table, where two waiters introduce themselves by first name and told us how great our experience was going to be that evening. We sat in the bar near the DJ and the ambience. Beauty and vibe was amazing. Our waiter could not have been more attentive without being intrusive to us. He explained everything from all of the sauces that we had with our homemade chips to every single detail of the menu, which he said they were able to try when during their training, we ordered our drink and I was impressed with the fact that our martinis came in a beautiful black stainless steel martini glass. The variety of homemade drinks were amazing. The food which we ordered our appetizers first could not have been better in presentation and flavor. Our waiter helped to serve every part of our meal, which providing us with a family style meal to be able to share all of the wonderful details and food we had ordered. During our meal, the Director of hospitality stopped by to check on us to make sure that the service and food was to our pleasure. Before we had our dessert, our waiter asked us if we would like to have a tour of the restaurant. Of course we said yes!! we were told that this restaurant seat seats 300 people: The tables in the dining room were spaced so that no one is on top of each other and you could have a private conversation without sharing it with other tables. There is a private room if you prefer to have an intimate dinner or business meeting with all of the technology necessary to do so. The first level outside has air-conditioning and the ability to lower panels to protect you if it is a rainy day. And an awesome tequila bar with amazing decor and beauty. Take one more step down and you're right on the water with beautiful tables and an ambience that you can only get in Miami. After return to our table, we ordered a dessert that knocked our socks off. It was delicious ice cream with dolce de Leche and all kinds of crumbled pieces of cookie on it. We had to fight each other to get the last bite. We ended our evening with the DJ playing one of our favorite Elton John Dua Lipa songs, hard hard heart.
