I love this place! Big outdoor patio, dog-friendly (they even bring your pup a bowl of water right away!), and fantastic food and drinks. The inside seating can get pretty smokey, but the atmosphere is good and the springer mtn farms fried chicken is out of sight. Highly recommend it! read more

Today I had a rough day at work that would be followed by a long night of studying, needless to say I wasn't in the best mood ever. Since there was little food in my house, I thought I'd just call in a to go order at Midway so I could get on my way and get it all done. Upon arrival, I find out that my order was never actually entered, so I'd have to wait until it was ready (which was really only about 10 minutes). This story might sound like I'm an angry customer, but I'm actually writing to share how professional everyone was and praise the customer service. The bartender apologized and offered me a drink. Then, the General Manager, Gil, came out. He confessed that he took my call and forgot to enter the order. He asked if he could get me drink and continued to apologize. Finally, when the order came out, it was on the house. Kudos to Midway and Gil for strong leadership--admitting fault and taking action individually and as a team to correct it! I've always loved Midway's food, yummy drinks, and dog-friendly patio, but after today I will always be a loyal customer based on their values and leadership. Thanks Midway! read more

I'm a regular of their porch. I also tend to regularly drink their beer while sitting on said porch. They have food too. That's probably the the order of importance for me at the Midway Pub. Excellent large porch when there's good weather, and a daaaamn good beer list. WAIT! The beer list is really really good. I think the beer list is... wait wait, yep it definitely is... The beer list just crept up to the top of the importance order! It is a book of beers with detailed descriptions that tantalize your senses while you read and make you decide not only on the one beer you're going to have; but the two you're going to have after it. If you're stuck, the server's are knowledgeable and can help you make an educated decision. If you're nice they'll even bring you a taster! The burgers to me are good as well and guess what? When you ask for them to cook it MEDIUM, they do it right. Not to mention they have good cheese and topping selections like muenster cheese and some roasted Poblano and Anaheim peppers. So you get good melted not-too-overpowering cheese and sweet tangy spicy peppers that have been roasted to a point where they melt in your mouth. I've been going to Midway since they opened. We've celebrated many birthdays, work parties and even walking through the Georgia "snow" when everything else was closed. Tonight's meal was such a disappointment. The veggie dogs were literally swimming in grease that the fries at the bottom were totally soaked. My kid's fish and chips came out 20 minutes after everyone else's food after we had to ask for it 3 times and then they still charged us. Normally when a mistake is made and an order is forgotten, you get some sort of break on the check. Anyway, it was one of our favorites in Atlanta so I hope they up their game. The service was great! I ordered grits with cheese and hashbrowns with bacon and cheese. It was Sunday around 1pm and we could only order from brunch menu. The grits were excellent, but the hashbrowns were burned along with the bacon. I returned the hashbrowns to be remade. The second attempt included fresh cheese and properly cooked bacon. However, the hashbrowns were still tasted as if they were burned (like the char was scrapped off) and were grey in color in the middle. I returned the hashbrowns and kept the grits. I was still charged $3.50 for the grits. My friends enjoyed their food. I wish I could have done the same. read more

I decided to give Midway another try and am glad I did. I met a friend for brunch last weekend, and the service and food, both of which were sub-par on my first visit, were both impressive this time. I had a fairly simple lunch (a cheeseburger and French fries), but still enjoyed it. I am definitely adding Midway back into rotation! read more

After an very bad experience here that I was certain that I yelped, but apparently, DIDN'T, I went back, and was pleasantly surprised (more on that bad experience in a minute). Everything I ate was great! The Greek salad is fantastic (ask 'em to hold the onions unless you LOVE onions), and the veggie corn dogs are insane; I can swear I woke up at some point that night with the sweats craving those darn things. While they lack a very diverse menu, the stuff on it is reasonably priced, and from what I've had, it is good. The only bad, is that the drinks are a bit pricey. This place appears to be a hip, biker-friendly bar/pub, and the beer and alcohol prices are more suited for the nightlife of Buckhead. I was surprised by this fact. Now, not to continue churning sour milk, I feel the need to speak about my first bad experience here; which led to me not returning for a very, very long time. I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea, and it was absolutely undrinkable. It tasted like cleaner, and it was clear to me something was bad in it (maybe bad sour mix?). Either way, instead of taking back the drink and being reasonable about it, the waiter told me that I still had to pay for it, and after noticing that I wasn't going to drink it, offered to go and pour it out for me. Now, I waited tables for many years in college, and I can tell you, that is not acceptable; I never told a customer the equivalent of "tough shit", which is what went down in this scenario. I was angry, and as such, tipped him nothing, and I honestly hate doing that, so I decided not to go back. Now that I have that behind me, I am glad that I checked this place out again, because the food is darn good, and hopefully, nothing like that will happen there again... especially since I will definitely be going back! read more

I have to say after coming here regularly since August 2012, I've grown to love Midway. The drink selection is solid, the food is solid (seriously come for brunch one weekend) and service has gotten better. It's a huge place so you're usually going to find a table and the patio is awesome on a warm night. We come here all the time to watch football or baseball or whatever else is playing. Prices are very reasonable. The only downside is that smoking is allowed inside :-( read more

I'm a fan of the East Atlanta Village vibe. I went on a date here. Good atmosphere. Pretty good draft beer selection and great outdoor patio. Good selection leaves something to be desired, but it's decent for a pub. I had the arugula salad and it was better than expected. Good bar snacks as well. Went here late at 1am had a crowd there very artistic east Atlanta crowd. So it was laid back and Smokey. Service was slow so that took away a star. Limited later night menu so that was a bummer. So we both got the chicken fingers one had fries. And I had salad with balsamic dressing.... OK what was good. the salad w/ that dressing was AWESOME.. I wish they sold that by the bottle.. now the chicken fingers tasted like some hormel frozen chicken fingers deep fried.. a huge dissapointment.. Actually it look like Long John Silvers Chicken planks.. they give you a lot of this food,, I can see why it was totally generic food, nothing to it... I know I will not go here again.. The servers are very polite here, there is a lot of seating and a great patio. The drink I had was very strong, which can be perceived as good or bad depending on your preference.. Ok so I had been trying to make it to the pub for a while after I tried some of my friend's left over corndogs one night. Omg they were so delicious I loved the honey mustard sauce! The first time I came on a whim after a night of raging the place was closed for construction. The second time I came I sat alone outside and people watched which was cool. The waiters don't stand over you or rush you out. I ordered the corndogs and fries. I could only bare to eat one corndog. The flavor was so off. The waitress said it may have been the batter.. Idk but I won't be ordering that again. They gave me a refund and I left. Lucky for me I had a delicious alcoholic beverage to wash out the awful taste of veggie corndog and bitter honey mustard sauce. read more

The server a female brown hair earring in her lip was the rudest server EVER!!! My 10 year old tapped her and said excuse me mam to get her attention because we wanted our check. The server returned and told my child it's rude for her to tap her arm and say excuse me! Mind you it's very loud in this place today and my child said excuse me SEVERAL TIMES!! The name on the receipt is Bruno Diaz not sure if that's the correct name! This was my first and LAST time here! Usually we tip well but no tip was left! Horrible person you are Lady!!!!!! Midway is a great place to grab brunch on the weekend or chill with friends on the patio any night. They have some interesting menu items including the Oatmeal Pancakes and veggie corn dogs, but most of it is pretty good. Parking is a little iffy, but you can usually find some across the street or in the abandoned gas station lot off of Glenwood. read more

This place is always crowded and there are good reasons why. First, their food is good. I highly recommend the green chili chicken. It's bursting with flavor and has a fantastic green chili kick to it that's not overpowering. Their fried fare is always cooked to perfection. I also have to order a full serving of fries because before I know it, it's gone. Ha! Their burgers are also flavorful. They have a great beer selection and their bartenders know how to make a good old fashioned. The service has been consistently good which is a very strong point. I love this place! read more

Meh. Midway is just okay in my book. While they do have some tasty food (the chicken chili and their grilled cheese sandwich are two personal favorites), the bar just lacks real character. My friend and I even refer to it as Applebee's, if that gives you any indication of what you're in for. The service is not great and not bad either. They do have a large patio (also without character) and their patrons typically make quality jukebox selections. Overall, Midway isn't the first place I would go to drink or eat, but it's certainly not the last either. read more

The atmosphere in this part of Atlanta is quite unique for the area. All are welcome at the Midway Pub that provides fuel to the ambiance. The food is very good for the price. The beer selection is excellent. I has the Shrimp Po Boy. A little spicy but the beer helped with that. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and she loved its flavor and aroma. Tater Tots were the side dish and brought me all the way back to grade school. If your in the area this place is great. Oh and they have fooseball. read more

I'm currently exhausted. A couple of hours ago, I was exhausted, irritable and starving. Not a good recipe for Heather behind the wheel, either. K came and rescued me with hopes of remedy. This is important to the review because Midway managed to erase both the hungry and the irritable. The menu is not your typical bar food... at least, not unless bars started serving Brie when I wasn't looking. I had the MahiMahi sandwich - it was really, really good. The generous portion of juicy fish came topped with grilled pineapple, goat cheese and red onions. Tater tots on the side were hot, crispy on the outside with not even a hint of sog. K had eaten earlier, so she ordered the Winter Coffee and Chocolate Mousse. All alcoholic coffee is good, but I was really surprised by the mousse. The minipint glass came out completely full of thick, rich, creamy chocolate dreams, topped with Baileys whipped cream... for $2. Amazing beers and an amazing Dirty Bird Sandwich. On a nice spring or summer day it's a perfect place to chill out on the patio. We got there for brunch around 1030 and it was perfect timing. It started getting crowded but we still got served well. The one minus was the bathroom looked like the night before was a rough one and they didn't clean it. I really like this place. I'm a southern girl and I like my collard green and fried chicken. When you don't feel like cooking at home, it's a great place to go. They have other food and everything I've tried, I like, but I usually just stick to the chicken. The drinks are reasonable priced and they have a pretty good bourbon selection.
