    Pork tenderloin with slaw.

Mill Tavern is a popular bar that serves sandwiches, salads and various entrees and, of course, has a full bar. The dining area is relatively small with maybe 20 tables, so you can expect a wait for seating. The walls are decorated with vintage signs and the place is immaculate. There are a couple tv monitors playing sports. Quiet music plays in the background. Regulars sit at the bar - people seem to know each other. People are friendly - staff and patrons. Our server, Lisa, was friendly, helpful and checked on us regularly. Drinks and food came out fairly quickly. I had the Tuesday night special rib eye dinner. The steak is cut thin but still large and cooked to medium rare perfection. The steak was tender and juicy. The baked potato is huge and baked perfectly. The side salad was fresh. My husband had the breaded tenderloin sandwich. The tenderloin was smaller than most and was a little dry. The coleslaw side was creamy and delicious. I like this place because it is comfortable and the food is good. Parking can be tight in this busy strip mall, but generally available.

21+ bar, upscale pub food. I LOVED all the Xmas decor, it put us in a good mood. The service was amazing, it seemed like a lot of regulars. She seemed to know a lot of the people, and took care of everyone. The wraps are good, the broccoli cheddar soup was decadent. I love all the sauces they have. My husband said the honey mustard was some of the best he's had in a while. When I commented about the fun decor, the server said it took them 15 hours to finish! I love all the little details and lights. I forgot how cozy it was here. This is the type of place you could just sit at the bar, watch a game and feel completely at ease. We haven't been in a while, but need to fit it in the rotation more often.

So, I decided to take my dear son to Gringtinos to eat some empanadas, because this Latin-ish restaurant has several different varieties on the menu. We sat down, looked at the menu, and my son wanted a cheeseburger, instead. Oh, kids! You gotta love them, right? (Right?) Luckily, Gringtinos has a kids menu that includes a cheeseburger, as well as a quesadilla and boneless wings. My son said that the cheeseburger was the best that he's had in a long time, so there you go. If you want a great kids' cheeseburger, visit Gringtinos. I was there for empanadas, so I got us a few: barbacoa, chicken, ground filet and street corn. We loved all of them, but the ground filet was probably our favorite (it was basically ground beef). We also ordered the yucca fries, which are served with white queso. They were like regular potato fries, but more earthy and dense. One order can feed two or three people -- they're very filling, with an interesting texture. I'm glad I ordered them. The service was OK, but we had to ask for plates, even though the server saw us dripping empanada juice all over our napkins. (It's like, hello! Yes, plates would be good. Bring us plates.) I'm also not a fan of servers not writing down my order, and instead, trying to memorize everything I say. I'm not impressed! It makes me stressed! Please, for the love of everything that's holy, just write down my order. It's truly OK to write things down. I promise. The construction around Gringtinos is murder, but don't fret. There is parking in the back, off of a gravel road. Once you park, enter through the back and you're good to go.

Super friendly staff. We chatted with the hostess for a bit about the other Family of Grindstone restaurants. We started with the short rib poutine. We had it last year and frequently joke we need more than 1. The meat is so tender and there is a good amount of it on the dish. The app has plenty to share for the three of us adults. I also love the added touch of the scallions. For our meals, I had the Jambalaya pasta which was a large serving with plenty of meat, my husband had the tenderloin sandwich (which was massive and the best he said he has ever had on all of his trips to Indy) and our friend had the piggy melt grilled cheese (Mac and cheese and pulled pork!) That sandwich had incredible flavor and I said I'm getting that next time. We ended the meal with bread pudding bites as the photos on here looked delicious and the waitress recommended them. They certainly did not disappoint. The restaurant has a bit of a nicer vibe and there are certainly some people that were there dressed better than us, but it is not a stuffy atmosphere. Delicious food for very reasonable prices. Good beer selection as well.

Beautiful space. Warm feel. Exactly what the evening called for. Our server Jill M was the real story. She greeted us warmly, asked if we had questions about the menu, and when we mentioned my wife has Celiac Disease, she didn't flinch. She walked us through every option carefully and honestly. That kind of attentiveness is rare, and it mattered. Here's the honest part: the kitchen uses a shared fryer, which limits options significantly for anyone with gluten sensitivity or food allergies. My wife made it work, but the choices were thin. For a restaurant at this level, I'd love to see that change. Food allergies aren't going away, and guests who want to celebrate special occasions deserve more than a gluten-free bun as their only path forward. The food was genuinely delicious. Drinks never ran dry. Jill was never far. We all left saying it was a great meal. Four stars, and I mean it. Jill earns five on her own. I'd go back without hesitation. I'd just hope the kitchen catches up to what the front of house already delivers.

Our table was ready and the Manger himself took us to our seats. This adorable three story red barn was dripping in charm and homey vibes. We sat on the second floor, we didn't know it had stairs or we would have asked for a first floor , a few of the group are not great on stairs, but as a team we made it work. Plus note is that there is a bathroom on the second floor. Speaking of the bathroom it did feel very much like a airplane bathroom, a litte Claustrophobic. The early bird dinner is the way to go, three course for a great price. We started by getting the deviled eggs and the mushroom soup. Both were amazing, the soup was so creamy and the eggs had just the right amount of firmness. I had fried chicken which was the best I have had in the Indy area. My husband had stroganoff and he felt like it was made by someone's granny. I also tasted the pork belly, and it was out of this work good. Desert was simple individual cheesecake with sauce, nice small size. We will be back and will try the rest of the menu.

She was personable and excellent at tending to us in spite of how busy they were. My daughter ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken with fries and blue cheese (12.49). She thought the sandwich tasted OK when she was eating it, but then blamed it for not feeling well later that evening. My wife ordered a 16" pizza (with the intent of leftovers for the next day) with onions, mushrooms and jalapeños (16.49). It had an amazing amount of cheese on it, but the crust wasn't strong enough to handle all of the toppings. It was a good quantity, but just OK on the eating / flavor experience. I chose the Veggie Sub with fries (11.99). I really enjoyed the sub as the vegetables and cheese were plentiful and the bread of the sandwich held up to all of it better than the pizza crust. The fries were subpar and reminded me of what LJS used to serve. Really appreciated the service, but the food probably won't bring us back.
