My wife and I were looking for a place to get a bite to eat as the lunch hour had slipped away (getting close to 2 pm). I used Yelp to find this spot out to the west of Westfield (Is that West-erfield?) So glad we did! The place has a single room with the bar on the right and the lighting kept dim. Lots of electronic lights and tvs lined the walls, but little to no overhead lighting. Normally, we aren't fans of darker spots since we sometimes have trouble reading the menus, but it wasn't too dark for us. Our waitress let us know we could pick our own table and she brought us our menus and utensils/napkins. We found out about the day's special and were given some time to look over the menu as she went to get our beverages. My wife decided to go with special fish and chips with a side of cole slaw. I went with a Reuben sandwich with the standard chips on the side. The fish came with two fair sized breaded filets and lots of deep fried wedges of potatoes. Both were pretty good especially with the tartar sauce for dipping. However, the cole slaw was very spicy with lots of black pepper which isn't what my wife expected or liked. She passed it over to me since she didn't like it. I was very pleased with my Reuben. It was a 5-star sandwich! The dark rye was very light and slightly grilled to provided a bit of crunch. The corned beef and sauerkraut were undressed, but there was a small cup of Thousand Island dressing I used for dipping that was perfect! Check out was quick and we were soon on our way. How have I never reviewed this? It helps that Mill Tavern is close enough I can get there on EV... Seriously it's worth the drive, and the wait. There's not many places around this small intersection to get good bar food - burgers, wraps, salads, apps, and some entrees. Never tried anything I couldn't pick up, but everything is good. Their burgers are fantastic and you can dress them however you like with their "Boss Burger" - three choices for one price, extras and premiums are reasonable. Great tavern fries, great homemade sauces too. I can tell it's a pretty popular hangout spot because everyone seems to know everyone else including the bar staff, it makes the place a little loud sometimes but everyone's friendly. I haven't even mentioned the bar - great service, great beer selection including on draft, and friendly faces. Funny I don't know everyone, I've been coming here since it opened. Maybe I need to drink more. Anyway will be back again soon. read more

Very good, they make their own clam chowder which is one of the better ones that I've had. They batter their own pickles and mushrooms The Ruben rolls were very good and the chicken sandwich was very good, the buffalo suace has a nice kick. Took my Mom here for a casual birthday lunch. Even though they were slightly understaffed everything was amazing. The Avocado Egg rolls are a must and the beer on tap is ideal. I wanted to try everything in their extensive menu but settled on classics Buffalo wings...Oh my lawd they did not disappoint. I have come to enjoy this place, especially seeing Shannon and Heather! They make u feel very welcome and with me being a woman I can easily say that I would have no problem coming to this place by myself and feeling at home! I have stumbled onto this place with the intro of a friend that comes regularly here. It is small, cozy, has TVs for your enjoyment, TouchTunes jukebox, and pull tabs. Even though we've lived here in Westfield for nearly three years, we only started frequenting The Mill just recently, mainly because we have a teenager and you have to be 21 to dine-in. So, we've been getting carry-out, and we've been very pleased. The Mill has everything you would expect in terms of bar food, but I find that the food quality is a notch above average. I usually get the Buffalo Chicken wrap, along with fries. The take-out packaging is always consistent, and they haven't screwed-up any of our orders in over 8 visits. Stopped in after Saturday afternoon garden shopping & received great service and delicious tavern food. Light tempura breading on fried pickles and full button mushrooms left me wanting to order more. Spicy Garlic wings crispy and not heavy with overly thick breading. Definitely worth coming back for these alone! Enjoyed trying the seasonal Curious Traveler shandy - the hint of pumpkin spice is great pairing with fried foods and incoming fall weather. Super angus burger list includes a burger with a special "suicide" sauce - guessing it's more hot than an evening at Hefner's mansion with broken a/c... Great to have a tavern in the area. Food and drink specials can be great, especially love the Bison Burger. Food overall is great and there are frequent coupons in the mailers. Caddy is an awesome bartender. I prefer sitting at the bar opposed to tables. Whenever sitting in the table area service seems especially slow and inconsistent. All around great place for friends to gather. Great Food( My Favorite is "The Last Mill and Testament" Burger. I look at this place in two categories. First off, it is as homey as the bar we all loved in "Cheers." Secondly, Toby Keith of country music fame wrote a song that contained the lyrics, "I like my truck, I like my girlfriend, but I love this bar. It's my kind of place." If you can imagine either or, you can get a taste of the quaint, hometown feel this bar provides. It's tucked into a neighborhood shopping center where the locals go. I observed lots of friendly people and the employees seemed to know everyone that came in the door. It's very comfortable with the right mix of TV and music playing. Now, to the food they serve. It's a mix of burgers, chicken, and fish. Today's menu contained chili which was a black bean/beef combination full of flavor and so good. Later the Westfield burger arrived perfectly cooked medium as I requested. My wife had the BBQ chicken salad which she could not finish due to its size. Saving the best for last, Nancy was our server. She was pleasant and attentive with a friendly smile and chatter about Arizona where she recently returned from. She makes one feel at home and welcome and I noticed the other employees behaving the same way with their customers. Nice neighborhood-type bar that's located in a busy shopping center. I've had several lunches at the Mill Tavern and the food has always been great. Back when I lived in the area and was working from home, I'd call them up and place a carryout order for lunch and it was always ready when I arrived to pick it up about 15 minutes later. I got addicted to their Club Sandwich, which is what I always ordered, but you can't go wrong with anything on their menu. read more

As people from Saint Maria Goretti have said time and time again, this place feels like our parish bar! I have been there a couple of times with some guys from the parish, and every time I go in, I'll see someone I know from the church or our neighborhood. It's a great local Westfield bar. It's also a great place for a quick drink with friends or to watch a game. Their menu is big, and everything I have had there has tasted great. I'm glad to have a place like this so close to the house. With 3 kids, my wife and I don't get a chance to go out often, but when we do, this is a nice place to grab a beer, talk, and be close enough to home, where if the kids light something on fire, or get into the knives and cut the babysitter, we can be home in minutes! read more

What a pleasant surprise! Here I was, driving through Not-quite-Carmel, looking for something to eat. Everything in this neighborhood -- absolutely everything -- is one of two things: A cheesy subdivision with homes that have as much individual character as the neighborhood itself or a strip mall, which is somehow completely fascinating by comparison. To me, this is hell. I recognize that others may disagree. De gustibus non disputandum est. So you can imagine my surprise to find the Mill Tavern, with its decent beer selection and oh-so-delicious eats. I had the Golden Eagle -- crispy chicken fillet with just the right amount of wing-style-sauce and melted cheese. My companion had a burger with jack cheese and bacon and a side of truly outstanding fries. They have Sun King on tap -- which isn't as good as it could be, but far better than the Bud-ish alternatives. Too bad about the location, though. read more
