Nothing says "we survived another work week" quite like an outside dinner, margs, beers, and the company of your favorite gals. And yes, the tini's were flowing! One thing we did notice: the Run Club crowd was rolling out in pretty large groups around 6:00 PM, so I'm wondering if that may have contributed to the timing of service for everyone else. THE VIBE check: I can't really speak to the indoor ambiance or overall atmosphere, but patio vibes + drinks + girls' night? I'm not mad at it. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. It's always nice to chat w/local Manchester walkerbys and be greeted by their fur babies while hanging downtown. And of course, we had dinner and a show, it's Elm Street. Night life, no matter the day, is always entertaining. The FOOD report: I went with the birria tacos + fries because carbs on a Wednesday were not only allowed, they were medically necessary after this work week. My tacos were alright. No lime wedge, though? A lime shortage? And then... the fries. THE FRIES! They were so overcooked and crunchy that, honestly, legend has it I'm still wondering what happened to the potato. They had the crunch, but somewhere along the way, the actual potato apparently went on break. The cauliflower pizza was good, the cran-apple quinoa salad w/chicken strips was large (easily enough for two, making it a solid budget-friendly option), and the chicken Caesar wrap also made an appearance and got the job done. Hungry after a dr appointment we stopped here without checking reviews. The space is really nice and open and clean. Service was a little slow to start but they were pretty busy. Once our order was taken it went fast. I thought the prices for lunch were a little high so I had the smash burger. My parents shared the chicken tenders and my aunt had the fish and chips. My burger was really good and the fries were delicious! I was glad I tried them before adding salt as theybwere already well seasoned. Everyone really enjoyed their food but probably wont be back often only because of the prices. The burger I thought was priced reasonably. I do not know if they have an elevator but it was a slight struggle for my mom to get up and down stairs for the bathroom. Still I do recommend trying it for yourself because the food is actually really good. read more

The Miller's Tavern Is conveniently located on Elm Street. Large space that is light and airy in decor. Our table was comfortable with great views. The service was excellent and attentive. My mai tai was a bit strong, but delicious. I tried the smash burger which was a bit different from the traditional preparation, but very tasty. Fries were excellent as well. read more

Recently opened on Elm St and being we live right down the street decided to give it a try. This is the old location of the Black Brimmer, a famous Manchester Nightclub of old! We started with the buffalo chicken fingers as an appetizer. They were good, but not homemade. It would've been nice if they had come with celery and carrot sticks. The Smashburger and fries was very good and definitely was enough for two people. The atmosphere is comfortable and our bartender was prompt and friendly. Miller's Tavern has opened their Manchester location on January 1, 2026 in the former Keys Piano Bar/603 Bar & Grill space at the corner of Elm & Lowell Streets in Downtown Manch. This restaurant & bar space is still referred to as "The Brimmer" (Black Brimmer), which was a happening bar in the 2000s with loud music on the main floor and a game room & second bar in the basement. Fast forward to 2026, this is Miller's Tavern's second area location with the other location across from The Loop in Methuen MA. The Farm Bar & Grille at Elm & Bridge Streets closed up recently since the ownership is the same as The Miller's Tavern. For food, they serve up American pub style fare including a selection of appetizers, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, soup, chili, 12" pizzas, mac & cheese, seafood dishes, short rib risotto, cowboy ribeye, fajitas, kids menu and desserts at moderate prices. The menu is mostly similar to the Methuen location with a few different offerings there. The full service bar offers 12 draft beers, beer cans & bottles, wine, sangria, cocktails, martinis, and mixed drinks. Like before, on the main floor there is a full service bar surrounded with seating & flatscreen TVs above the bar, high top table seating, regular table seating, overhanging chandeliers, ornamental lighting, and two tables on the balcony. Live entertainment is offered on the weekends and special events too. The basement has the restrooms, but no game room & second bar (blocked off & dark). I stopped by The Miller's Tavern in Manchester for a mid-afternoon dinner when things were not too busy. I sat up at the bar and was given a food menu to look at. I got an ice water and ordered the Haddock Sandwich with Hand Cut Fries ($18.95 plus tax), which came out in under 10 minutes. The sandwich had a crispy breaded flaky haddock filet with lettuce & tomato on a toasted bun with tartar sauce on the side. The lightly salted hand cut fries had good flavor, a major step up from the standard frozen fries. For dessert, the Skillet Cookie Sundae ($9 plus tax) was served in a very hot 6" iron skillet with a soft baked chocolate chip cookie topped with a small hard scoop vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce drizzle and whipped cream. This dessert was just the right size for one person. After I was done, I hung out a bit to catch the first quarter of a bowl game showing on ESPN and got the check with Toast QR code which was $27.95 with tax and before tip. Overall, the haddock sandwich with the hand cut fries and the cookie dessert were both enjoyable. The service was professional as the food came out in timely fashion and I was given refills on the ice water. Several staff including management stopped by to check on things. I am about halfway between this location and the Methuen location. The Methuen location has a few favorites not (yet) on the Manchester menu including the Meatloaf Sandwich, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, and the Seafood Alfredo. I would come back to Millers again for another meal and for the late night Manchvega$ bar scene with live music. read more

The food, service, and ambiance were all on point. I sat at the beautiful island bar in the back of the restaurant, complete with three large screens where I could watch the Bruins. Everyone working there had great energy and made the experience a lot of fun. The atmosphere felt like the place had been open for years, so I was surprised to learn it had only opened about a week ago. Now for the food: The menu was excellent and not easy to choose from. I went with the short rib and risotto, along with a Caesar salad. The Caesar had just the right amount of dressing and was perfectly balanced. The short rib was full of flavor with a rich gravy that any New Englander's mom would be proud of. The risotto was perfectly creamy, and the roasted carrots and broccoli rabe on the side were a great surprise. I'll definitely be back. read more

Their smash burger is the most honest burger I've ever had in Manchester. It's not making a statement. It's not one-and-half inches of seared ground beef. It's artisanal only in the sense that the person who made it knows their craft. It's a well-made patty of meat, seasoned simply, on a perfectly toasted bun. The sauce is tuned to a meal that makes you happy, not to a Happy Meal. You must get the fries. It is a huge room, yet the service is attentive and friendly (Hi Caterina!). read more

The ambiance is beautiful, I cannot wait for the downstairs to open. Sounds like fun! Everything I have had food wise has been delicious. The Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos are one of my favorites. The Smash Burger is just the right amount of burger, so juicy and delicious! The sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked. I was nervous to try the BBQ Nachos because I love ground taco beef on my nachos, but I was pleasantly surprised! They were fabulous and I got sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños on the side. Perfect addition to the nachos. If you're in the mood for a dessert beverage, I would recommend the Salted Caramel Martini. It's just like having a salted caramel cream cake with the gram cracker crust (on the rim) it's truly phenomenal! Overall, I cannot wait to try more items and share more experiences. The inside of this restaurant is absolutely beautiful. I used to go here quite a bit back in the 90s when it was the black brimmer, the staff was very friendly and very accommodating. We got the golden knot, which is just a huge pretzel hanging on a banana hanger. I'm not a fan of pretzels, but my husband liked it.. we also got the buffalo chicken dip that was pretty good. For entrées hubby got chicken pot pie, which is just a bowl of chicken vegetable gravy with a huge crust like thing put on top did not look like anything like in the picture that we saw in somebody else's review. I got the seafood casserole. It smelled like fish and was completely raw. I also got a captain diet. There's absolutely zero alcohol in it. The waitress was amazing. After seeing many posts online, I was excited to try Millers Tavern-Manchester, but was utterly disappointed. The restaurant is spacious and decorated nicely. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. We sat at the bar and weren't acknowledged for at least 10 mins. Our martinis were mediocre at best. We ordered a pretzel and nachos. They could have been warmer. Most places serve sour cream with their nachos and then charge extra if you want more. That's not the case here. If you want sour cream at all, you are charged for it. When our food was delivered, the waitress dropped it off and walked away-no napkins or plates given. I waited a few minutes thinking she was going to get them, but she didn't. I had to get up and ask for them. No one checked in to see how we were doing, and we had to flag the bartender down for another drink. Another gentleman sat down next to us and it was a good 5+ minutes before he was acknowledge. At least 2 bartenders walked by without saying a thing. For terrible service and mediocre food, we definitely won't be back. read more

This place looks nice and the bartenders are wonderful. We were there last Saturday night and from where we were sitting at the bar we had view of the kitchen when the servers were coming in and out. We saw servers eating French fries off the plates they were bringing out, one of the cooks fixing her hair while making food it looked like she was tossing dough,some young cook coming in and out of the kitchen with his phone we didn't get food but the drinks were very good. Went for the first time around 2pm for a late lunch. Two of us sat at the bar, there was one other couple at the bar and given the odd time we thought that was normal. Atmosphere was great. We got the lettuce wraps and the smash burger and split both. Food was great! Bartender was not bartender material at all, she never checked on either course. There was no large crowd. We sat at the bar. The bartender was pleasant, prompt, and professional. I had fish and chips, subbing Onion Rings for fries. Portion was large ( I am a big guy) :) . Fish was perfect. O Rings were the thin 'string' type. I'm not sure if the appetizer O rings are different, but I was hoping for the thick O Rings. Regardless, they were perfect string rings. Wifey had the Short Rib risotto. Unfortunately this was sent back. The risotto was heavy parmesan cheese, and not edible (by either of us). She liked the beef, and the carrots though. Without any hesitation, the manager apologized and deducted the dish from the bill. We got a pizza to go but have not tried it yet. I'll update this with a pizza review. We will go back for sure. Ambiance was great, restaurant looked beautiful. Knowing it's a new location I understand within the first few weeks everything is a trial period. For the service and food- it seemed rushed, disorganized and the food sadly reflected that. For appetizers we got the Bang Bang Shrimp and Soup Dumplings. The shrimp were great! Our server had rushed over and dropped off a pretzel we did not order, we asked for it to be removed but it sat on our table untouched for 15 minutes before it was grabbed. The soup dumplings were sadly disappointing. They were overcooked and disintegrating in the steamer. Wasn't able to get the "soup" aspect as all of the fluid was gone. The side of shredded vegetables it came with tasted like a refrigerator and some were mushy and rotten. For the mains we got the Short Rib Risotto and the Steak Tips. Sadly both were left on the plate by the end of the dining experience. The short rib was extremely dry, and the risotto was clearly rushed and undercooked- chewing on full rice grains. The broccoli on either dish was not seasoned. The steak tips were extremely overcooked. My beef jerky was sided with unseasoned mashed potatoes and the broccoli. Was very excited for this dining experience but left very underwhelmed and disappointed especially for the money spent. I heard about the new Millers Tavern located on Elm street in Manchester and was excited to see what they were going to do with it considering the business previous hadn't had the ability to sit out and thrive. i Waited to go with some friends just after the New year to see what everyone was talking about and when we got there we walked into a unrecognizable establishment that had clear planning and time invested into it, much different than the dingy dirty place that filtered so many failed businesses before. It was once the black brimmer the memories that place holds for me and I'm sure So many others could never be replaced by anything afterwards BUT the moment we Walked in we could NOT stop admiring the vibe, the color pallet, the BEAUTIFUL black and white historic pictures on the walls, the lighting the chandeliers, the decorations and attention to detail. It's simple and so pretty!! Such a nice change for Manchester, and the staff welcomed us he moment we walked in and helped us right to the bar. Which is just a whole vibe and has everything you could want in terms of Liquor and ambiance. I'm going to say a lot of first, and second third dates will probably be Here at this place given there isn't too many upper scale places that are still inviting left in this area at all. The espresso martini I ordered was frothy and rich and the old fashioned my friend ordered had been actually made properly you can tell that the people working there have plenty of previous experience and are proud of where they work and to be apart of this new spot. I worked in service industry before that had poor management and you can tell they run a tight ship and the quality of everything we had was just perfect! The Mozzarella bites we had were so crunchy and gooey on the inside and the marinara was delicious, I can be a critic of marinara sauce and this one was just right. The steak i got was cooked JUST right and well worth the money and the mashed potatoes And vegetables were fresh and seasoned not too much not too little. The presentation is gorgeous and maybe definitely got posted to my instagram. The smash burger my friend got was so juicy and they had gluten free buns which is usually something that My friend ends up not eating because most are just- yuck and she is also very picky and she ate her whole meal. needless to say we are hard to impress and when my family comes up next month I will be sure to call way ahead of time and Book reservations because I see why they were so busy and packed when we were there. this is a MUST try place, I will DEFINITELY be back and I will for sure be going all the time.
