My daughter had just turned 21 and we wanted to take her out, so about 10 of us headed into Bumpy's. The second we walked in we were greeted with eyerolls and a very bi**hy attitude from the bartender. Before we could even order, she yells "We don't serve anyone with a vertical". Okay - well apparently you don't like tips then? In Washington you can't get your horizontal until AFTER you turn 21. So that means the day of your 21st - you're going to have a vertical and probably will have it for the next 3-6 weeks after. Initially they tried to tell us it's the law. WRONG. The only law is that the establishment has to check the birthdate and the photo. The staff at Bumpy's wanted no part of that - which, how lazy can you get?! Call me crazy but I don't think many kids with fakes are going to get a VERTICAL fake! Use your brains Bumpy's. If the liquor board is on your a$$ for serving minors - it's not because you're serving people with vertical IDs. It's because you aren't checking the birthdate and the photo on the HORIZONTAL ID to begin with - and you clearly don't own a scanner. Zero reason to greet customers so rudely. Just bad business all around. Too bad, too.. We're good tippers. That bartender could've made about $300 just off us.

This is a typical dive bar with regulars at the bar looking hazily at their libations. Soft rock played in the background and lots of high tops beside the bar. I was asked to order and picked out deviled eggs and nachos! How could you go wrong even if they were so so? Well, the joke was on our friend because they were delicious! The deviled eggs had bacon crumpled on top with sliced green onions and were served on a bed of greens! The nachos were well covered and must have been prepared in layers. Otherwise, paid parking nearby is around $12. If you don't mind walking 10 mins, there's usually street parking up the hill. Highly recommend this for all ages. Come out and learn dancing! P.S. Saturday is usually really packed, as in it's hard to find a spot on the dance floor.

Me and my friends took a bite of the pork belly the same time and we all look at each other on how unbelievably good it was. Drinks were good too. Ambience: looks like a newer establishment. Clean, safe. I love the layout and how the dance floor is in the center so you get to watch people line dancing. There is always plenty of seating (metal chairs brought in) the two times we came here for events like this. There is some seating to the side against the wall too. But for a concert? Forget any kind of seating. While there is still seats against the wall they are quickly taken and you aren't likely to see who is performing on the stage anyway so you will need to stand. And there have been venues I have been to where there isn't any seating... and usually it's dive bars. Though the Spanish Ballroom isn't a dive bar. Lol! So wear good shoes. The concert I did go to the stage and acoustics weren't bad so it's a good place to do concerts aside from those who want to sit. Overall I like this place that is part of the Elks Temple... and it adds to this location as being one of my favorite McMenamins locations I have been to.

A beautiful venue!…read more Even though we were at a dance party with a live band and the interior was mostly dark concert lighting, one could still see the beautiful columns and light fixtures throughout the ballroom were gorgeous. We were all dressed up for Halloween and the band was playing a wide range of spooky hit music and there were a lot of very cool costumes everywhere. People's creativity really shined at this event. The floor was super sticky which prevented me from doing my version of the Moonwalk dancing but there was plenty of room to move. There were lots of water jugs available for hydration for everyone in their hot costumes and great bar service. We had a good time and I would love to come back for their daily tour of this Spanish Ballroom with the lights on!

Honestly, it made everything better. We looked great together and just kept the energy going. I had a few drinks (he's a no-alcohol guy), and we spent about two hours playing games, laughing, and just genuinely enjoying ourselves. It was such a fun time, and I really want to go back. The only downside is it's a bit tough for him since it's a bar setting and he doesn't drink--but the games definitely make it worth it.
