Fun-filled afternoon after stumbling upon this spot with great happy hour prices. The Mixx has food and drinks, although at first glance it seemed a little quiet inside. They host performances on certain nights, and that day it looked like the Rocky Horror Picture Show was going to be put on. Our bartender Carlos was awesome and super friendly and helpful. Happy hour prices were $5 cocktails and beers, which turned out to mean any cocktails on their menu. We also got some food for an early dinner. Food: - Guacamole: Homemade, and so delicious. A great appetizer, highly recommend! You can also ask for more chips if needed. - Mixx pastrami burger: Very tasty, but the pastrami isn't thinly sliced as I thought it would be. It's surprisingly filling, especially after all the guacamole! Also comes with fries. Drinks: - Gummy Bear: Really sweet, not as alcoholic but maybe I just couldn't taste it? - Classic Old fashioned: Definitely our favorite. Can't go wrong with a classic! And Carlos made it perfectly. - Watermelon cooler: Juicy, pretty strong. Not as sweet as the gummy bear. - Irish Mule: Good whisky alternative to Moscow mule. -Prince Alberto: Ohh this was fun. I LOVE THIS PLACE. Me and bestie wanted to go out for a girls night, we decided we wanted to go see a movie at the Paseo and potentially grab some drinks beforehand. After looking up places nearby, I found this place, and the reviews looked amazing. Keep in mind that my best friend has social anxiety, so she was set on leaving if the vibes were not here. Nevertheless, as soon as we got into the place, the vibes were completely there!! Let me start with Carlos. BEST BARTENDER EVER!!! His hospitality is unmatchable, he really made us feel comfortable and gave us the exact experience we were looking for. I have never witnessed such a dedicated bartender! He really has a passion for his job, it's so fun to watch him make the drinks. He was suuuuper sweet! The drinks were AMAZING! Even though the happy hour price is $5, the drinks were definitely not watered down whatsoever. They had that liquorrrr!!!! I ended up drinking more than I had planned because of how good the drinks were. I also LOVE the drink menu!! Sometimes it can be kinda hard to decide on basic drinks, but this place has their special recipes!! Some of the notable ones that I REALLY enjoyed were the Gummy Bear (literally tastes like a gummy bear, got more than one), the jolly rancher, and the blue Hawaiian (obv). Soooooo yum!!!! Also, while I did not get food, I did notice that everyone around us was eating food, and it smelled amazing! I will have to check that out next time. I also want to mention something that I really appreciate about this place. Whenever I was starting to really feel the liquor, Carlos was constantly giving me water to make sure that I was balancing it out. It seriously helped so that I wasn't hungover the next morning! The Muxx Wednesday comedy night was a good time. The service, food and drinks was on point.

Dropped by around 10PM on Wed night after flying in. Nothing nearby was open except The Mixx so we dropped by to get some food since we were starving. They had music blasting and people dancing on the dance floor at the back - fun vibes! Unfortunately, not the vibes my middle aged Asian parents were looking for, so we asked if we could order to-go, and the bartender/waiter said yes! He let us sit down at a table while we waited. He was VERY nice and brought us drinks and even apologized for the loud music (it's not your fault at all! It should be expected at a restaurant bar at night, don't worry about it). After 15ish minutes we got our food and brought it back to eat at our hotel. I got the Lobster BLT - which was a BLT with some lobster bits and pieces in it, dribbling with a delicious creamy sauce + fries (there's an option of sweet potato fries too). Honestly, it was pretty good. The bacon was nice and the lobster pieces honestly fit well with the burger. The sauce was super yummy, whatever it was. It came with a LOT of fries, though mostly unsalted. Overall, pretty good food and a decently sized menu. Super great service, even at 10PM (and their kitchen is open late!). Serving sizes are definitely big so they WILL fill you up for sure. Recommended for anyone trying to get a nice bite late at night, though I suspect they're also great during the day too! Went in bc they had a sign outside that said "Rock en Español" turns out it was a Beatles tribute night Like the Beatles so it's all good but went downhill from there. The waitress was NOT attentive. Switched to bar bc we were never gonna get our order in. Bar tender didn't fill it up to the top gave us more foam (ordered beer) and gave the wrong drink to each of us so we can tell when u drink an IPA vs another drink! My friend saw this @ yelp and decided to give it a try. It's a spot at the corner where you can easily see it. We were here in time for happy hour and drinks were $5/pc which was awesome. Tasted a bit watered down but for the price, its all good. I'm a bit off on the service part because the staff are awesome from server, bartender, to security but they charged us cover even though we were already inside the resto and ordered several drinks & food. We went here for a Mingle and Plei event and the space and bar is nice! We had a table of 10 and ordered plenty of drinks and food. The food was mediocre and when we complained about 1 item (calamari) the owner's response was "30 other people ordered it and didn't have a problem." Unacceptable response to a complaint, especially when we're spending plenty of money. This place is a lot of fun! My wife and I celebrated our birthdays here with a small group of friends. We wanted to go dancing so we thought we'd give this place a try. We were not disappointed!! The ambiance is cool. Nice long bar and comfortable seating area. Dance floor is just the right size. Spanish rock band was lit!! And the DJ was good too!! Food and drinks were good and at a relatively reasonable price! Service was great. We called ahead and told them about our birthdays and they were very accommodating to us and our group! My friends and I came here on a friday night for dinner and to listen to some jazz. The restaurant/bar was just beautiful and had a very relaxing atmosphere. The lighting is very dim which makes it very romantic if you come here on a date. The service was great , friendly and timely. There is a parking structure near by and they also have valet for $10 but you can also just park in the street for free after 6 pm without a time limit. We had a few drinks, and old fashioned and scooby snacks which were delicious. For food i had the ribeye steak with spinach and red potatoes , the steak was good but i didn't like that it had a barbecue type of sauce on it but i just wiped it off. This was a pretty nice place to go on a Friday night. I am not the biggest fan of music while I dine but they're were 2 bands warming up for a show and it was pretty cool. While we were sat though the hostess came and shook us down for money to stay. We saw online it said $10 at the door and she was asking for $15. My husband and I handed her $30 but our friends only had $27 so she took that. The music we got to experience was a Paramore cover band and an Interpol Cover band. It would have been really awesome if the Interpol cover band had played first but it is what it is. We ordered the coconut shrimp, nachos, risotto meatballs, gummy bear drinks, beers, and a Scooby snack. The food was pretty good and we were pleasantly happy with our choices. The server was friendly and kept checking on us to make sure we were pleased. This was a fun and nice experience. We would absolutely come back! The restrooms have only two stalls and there were somewhat long lines since it got crowded. Also parking was down the street but it is to be expected for Pasadena. read more

Made reservations for 2 at 8pm for me and my son. We were planing on dinner and all night drinking to the cover band. At 9pm they asked for $15 dollars to stay for band. I was willing to pay the cover charge, and I asked if I could keep the table since I made reservations and ate (I ordered a chicken sandwich) and drank a few beers already. They said NO because tables are only for people that spend over $75! I chugged my beer, paid the bill, and left for a better experience down the street! Too many places in Pasadena old town to support GREED! You will see the owners reply below where he lies about me not ordering food or willing to pay. Came here for a networking Meetup event and couldn't have been happier with the event space and the service. This is a great space for events like this as it allows people to mingle towards the back of the restaurant. They also have an area for live music which I was told is also fun as they open the floor to dancing too. But my review will mostly focus on the bar service and the amazing bartender. Sometimes when you are alone as a woman, it feels weird to sit at a bar but not here. The bartender was super friendly and definitely knew what he was doing..he made the best drinks ever! I ended up making lots of friends thanks to hanging out at the bar. Since it was a meet up event, I didn't pay for any food but did enjoy the snacks that were provided. Overall, this is a great space and I am looking forward to coming again with friends soon. Street Parking is available (free after 6 pm), though be prepared to walk a couple of blocks as this part of old town is crowded even on weekdays. read more

I will say upon arrival of the ambience seems empty but once you are inside the bartender, Carlos would definitely take care of you happy hour is definitely a steal. All the drinks are very strong and very tasty. Customer service is 10 out of 10 and I'd highly recommend especially after work on a long shift the chicken sandwich with extra seasoning was very good did not disappoint and I had a very good side sauce for my sweet potato fries I will be back when I have more time to sit there and get drunk.
