The wait was worth the while... about 30~ mins or so. They have their system down, they're pretty fast and efficient with their check in and check out process. I'll start off by saying I'm not the biggest fan of pancakes, nor cinnamon and have to be in the mood for both. Today happened to be the day. I tried their pancake sampler, with cinnamon, Caribbean and banana bread pancakes. They were all good, fluffy, airy and flavorful. Banana bread with their maple syrup, Caribbean with cinnamon. But, their cinnamon pancakes were amazing!! Those were definitely the winner!!! Best pancakes I've ever had. Their three pig omelette was pretty bomb as well. I got some of their sausage gravy on the side, to douse the omelette and that was definitely the move there. I think this is the first time I didn't need to use cholula for flavoring. The location is centralized, set up nicely, with huge open indoor space with plenty of seating outside. The service was great as well. Attentive and fast. All in all, I wish I had the time to come here yesterday, so I could try something different today. But, I took the place for everything it had and it definitely delivered. Lines around the block. yadda, yadda, yadda. Ok, I decide I'm doing it. I'm there at 6:30am on a Wednesday morning. I walk across the street from my hotel. No lines. There were only three other customers. I got the eggs, pancakes, and biscuits and gravy with coffee. Coffee was good. The rest of the meal, eh. It was ok. Bland. Disappointing for Southern fare. Look at my picture. The pancakes are small, they don't even fill the plate. It's not worth going out of your way to eat here. It's definitely not worth the hype or a long wait. The breakfast at Cracker Barrel is better and you get more for you money. If you're ever in Kansas City stop in at the Big Biscuit. That's how breakfast is supposed to be. read more

Just above ordinary for me even with the pourable cinnamon topping. I also ordered an omelette where almost all the ingredients were piled on top. The eggs were crepe thin and rolled with just the sausage crumbs inside. The place was busy with a line outside waiting for tables. Service was a bit too slow for me. Underwhelming. Luckily we arrived early and there was no wait or line. I'd say I almost felt I was doing a disservice by not warning the dozens of people waiting in line by the time we finished. Pancakes are average at best, slightly dry. Scrambled eggs, unfortunately also a bit dry, bacon was thin, chewy and did not pack much bacon flavor. The syrup seemed a bit watery for syrup. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but after having it I can't say that I'd ever return to find out if that's the case. In Nashville for the Chris Stapleton concert and our Uber driver recommended Pancake Pantry, and since it was literally next door to our hotel, it felt like fate. We showed up early enough to beat a line around the block, and for a brief moment I thought we'd hacked Nashville. Then we asked our server for a little "insider" help narrowing down the menu... and got the kind of vibe that said, "How dare you not know our menu inside and out?!" Not rude-rude, just clearly annoyed that we had questions. Not the end of the world, but it set the tone. We landed on the breakfast sandwich on a croissant and the Grilled Cook's Medley (skillet situation with toast). The sandwich was a miss: the croissant tasted like it came straight out of a bag, and the whole thing was so bland and unexciting that we didn't even finish it. The skillet was slightly better, but still pretty plain...barely seasoned, and it had slices of cheese melted on top instead of shredded like you'd expect. We didn't finish that one either, which is saying something because I'm usually the "I'll eat it anyway" person. But hey, this is Pancake Pantry, so surely the pancakes would save the day, right? Unfortunately... no. Both pancakes came out lukewarm and not really light/fluffy like a great pancake should be. The sweet potato pancake was the better of the two and oddly was actually best without syrup. The cinnamon roll pancake had nice crispy edges (credit where it's due), but it came with a cinnamon syrup that was way too sweet considering there was already a sweet drizzle on top. It turned into sugar on sugar crime. I wanted to love it, especially with all the hype and the convenience factor, but this ended up feeling like a spot that survives on reputation and location. Five stars for service and location! Our waitress was so wonderful, friendly, and funny. She made the experience worth it! All the waitresses on the patio during Mother's Day breakfast were phenomenal, and I hope they get recognized by the management. The patio is decent - but it's very cramped. Nice shade though! The food came out quick and was decent but I wouldn't say five stars. My husband got the breakfast tacos, and they were flavorful. The other ding is the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. This restaurant is well worth the wait and was the best food that I had in Nashville during my day. My friend and I came on a Saturday morning and had to wait about 30 minutes on the line. The ambience was nice and simple. The food took a while to come out, but was well worth it because it was made with love. The business (but maybe not the building) has been around since 1961, and it certainly appears to be a popular part of the Nashville Breakfast culture. By the time we were seated (after a short wait), there was a line out the door, and it was only mid-week. Our meal was very good. Gayle started with a lightly tinted orange Mimosa (just she likes it), while I went full OJ. Our coffees were good and refilled promptly. We both had pancakes (of course) with our choices, of which we both found them to be light and fluffy, accented well by their maple syrup. With that, I chose poached eggs with sausage, while Gayle opted for a Rolled Omelet with bacon, pepper jack cheese, and spinach. It was all delicious, except my eggs came out a little running, even when I asked for "poached hard". The dining room was pleasant and with a lot of natural light. They opened at 6:00, and my hotel was right across the street, so I was outside when they unlocked the door (still, second in line). Tried pancake pantry for breakfast on a recent trip, and all but one member of my family was pretty disappointed (she got the chocolate sun crepes and thought they were great). The rest of us felt like the pancakes we ordered were just meh (honestly, we prefer IHOP). They were kind of chewy and not very flavorful - they tasted like they may have been precooked and were waiting for us for a while before we got them - the edges had dried out. The pictures make it all look delicious, but, unfortunately, that was just the pictures for the most part. They had a lot of different flavor options that were hard to choose from but the best part was being able to order the sampler so I could try three different styles. The chocolate chip came with so many chocolate chips on top that were all melted so it was more of a thick chocolate spread. It was very good and rich! The sugar and spice was basic but still so good. The sugar and cinnamon on top along with the cinnamon cream syrup was the perfect combination. If you're looking for alternative options, you can get eggs and omelets, waffles, sandwiches, salads, and so much more! There are two different Pancake Pantry locations in Nashville. There is a Downtown Nashville and a Hillsboro Village location. I ended up going to the Downtown Nashville one as it was close to the hotel where I was staying. The hours are from 6:00 A.M to 2:00 P.M, daily. For parking at the Downtown Nashville location, you can park at the Hyatt Centric Hotel or other nearby public parking lots. A lot of these lots do offer complimentary parking for the first hour! I ended up ordering some plain pancakes. The service was great! The order came out fast! The pancakes were light and fluffy. I start off with Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows to get me warm!!! Then I get the Holiday Pancakes, they add peppermints and pieces of chocolate bark that are melted on top!
