Mozzarella Stics

My husband and I came here for a date night out and had a lovely experience. Our server was very polite and made sure we were taken care of with refills, extra sauces, etc. There was no wait for a table and we loved the vintage decor. Each table had its own mini jukebox with classic music, as well. I had the Short-Rib Grilled Cheese, Mozzarella Sticks, and Cheesecake for dessert. My husband had a burger and we each had some cocktails which were 1940's themed and delicious. The bathroom was clean and we had excellent service. We would love to come back for a visit downtown again!

Grilled cheese short rib, well, it was there. The jalapeño burger=perfecton

Would love to show pics, but ate it too fast. Travon is the best server ever! The burger was amazing! Travon, the master mixologist made the BEST cocktails on the strip. As a local that rarely comes downtown bc... tourists.... This is a must come place to kick off your night!!

One of the best spots to eat near/on Broadway. We ordered the pancakes and tuna melt. Really good tuna melt! We almost went twice because we couldnt find any other good food. Cute photo booth inside too.

Ok we can all agree it's funny to have a drive in with no actual drive-in.... But besides that this place is pretty cool. The atmosphere is very relaxed. (That's a nicer way to say don't be in a hurry) the people working in the bar are very friendly but the best part is the food. This is a great lunch/brunch spot, my absolute favorite is the tuna melt sandwich. I keep coming back for that one! It's just a few steps from Broadway, they dont play crazy loud music and the food and drinks are good, give it a try!

I came in for breakfast on a weekday while in town for a conference and this was an AMAZING experience... The service, quality, and experience exceeded my expectations!! My server was Scooter and he was outstanding! He gave all sort of great info about the restaurant, their menu, and made great suggestions of what to eat. He also provided outstanding service! The food came out quickly and was made with fresh and beautiful ingredients too! The flavors were great! I was so very impressed with this experience, as I travel often and always enjoy a nice breakfast, but rarely do I get such a great experience! Definitely recommend stopping in here!!

This was our first place to try In Nashville. I got the huevos rancheros and i was surprised that it was so good. The pancakes were fluffy as well. He got the tuna melt. We liked it so much we came another time. Scooter was amazing.

I was so excited to have Mel's in Nashville as a native Californian. I can say the decor, aesthetic and the vibes are great! They are in a great location downtown and will be perfect for the area. Now the food was fine I guess. I got the Denver omelette and while the eggs were cooked well and the ingredients were good, it was kind of greasy. The hashbrowns too. I can admit they were busy on a Friday so I give them grace for that and the service was great. They were really nice and communicative so that is a great plus. I ordered a smoothie too and it was fine, wasn't mixed together well so I got a lot of separate flavors and not a blend. They did just open so maybe they are still working out the kinks. I would love to try them again in a bit and see how things go.

Kitchen is out where everyone can see it. But you don't smell like a grille when you leave.

Who knew this little gem is now down on 2nd Ave. This restaurant pays homage to the old 50s diners and has an old 32 Ford Coupe (I think) at the entrance. They have little miniature juke boxes in each booth that takes quarters. The food came out pretty quick. I had a smash burger with potato salad, both of which were absolutely delicious. My wife had the short rib grilled cheese and sweet potato fries which she said was phenomenal. We want to try the breakfast here next!

Mel's Drive-In for breakfast on an NFL Sunday and it was a nice experience. First thing is the cleanliness. The restaurant and bathroom were so fresh and clean which always leaves a good impression. This place has a big menu so we will have to come back next time we're in town. This time we only had breakfast it it was delicious. We were also seated quickly and the service was great. Highly recommend this spot before your next game at Nissan Stadium. It's only a short walk away.

We came to Mel's on a last minute dinner decision and they had no problem seating a party of 11 with no wait! The service was great, the vibe inside is awesome, and the food was really good! We also got the chance to meet Nate Smith and Tyler Hubbard ! Would definitely come back!! The menu is very reasonably priced as well.

The food and service were great! The onion rings were really good and crispy! I liked the retro ambiance and music. Definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't yet!

All American smash burger with fries

A classic diner experience. The music was excellent. The service was pretty slow and a few extras (ranch, bleu cheese, straws) were forgotten, but the staff was very friendly. We got sliders (burger and short rib) and the all American smash burger, fries, onion rings, and a strawberry shake. All of it was good, well seasoned.

Seating

Very large diner with plenty of seating. Just a bit off the main drag so the lines weren't long at all to get in. Server was friendly and fast with our order. Overall the food was standard fare breakfast and priced affordably. I would certainly return. And yes, they had Mimosas.

We had a larger (10) group celebrating two birthdays and the staff handled things without breaking a sweat. We arrived a few minutes late for our reservation but it was no bother as our table was still being prepared. On that note: highly recommend a reservation, this is a popular place! Once we were seated we had the pleasure of Nichelle, a wonderful waitress. She was on top of everything we needed or wanted and we had very little wait time for her return. Great service! And the food... DELICIOUS! As you can imagine, our group of ten had a good selection across the menu and there was not a single person who was disappointed. Everyone loved their amazing food. What tops everything off is the atmosphere here. It's popular so, as you can imagine, it's a bit noisy. However, I like to call it "lively". And they really nailed the physical design, so inviting and upscale. I'll stop there and simply say: check this place out, it's great!

She even went out of her way to get me a drink that had fallen off the menu a few weeks prior, a delightful cucumber spritz. The ambiance is awesome. As others have said, music isn't too loud, just pleasant in the background, so it would be ideal for having a conversation. The space is open, bright, light-filled, and stylish. Parking is in a private lot behind the restaurant and they validate parking for up to two and a half hours. I wish I could rave the same way about the food. While the cocktails were refreshing and they had a cocktail for every palate, my steak and eggs was bland. It came out a little closer to rare than medium, but I can live with that. But I am not sure I detected a speck of salt or pepper. The steak was at least tender and the sunny side up eggs were cooked appropriately. The potatoes were dry. And I did have the wagyu meatball appetizer. It's a large portion, so easily shared amongst two or three people. Cheesy and saucy with a little spice. The focaccia could've been toasted a little more. I considered the short rib hash, but my server told me it could be salty and hit or miss (I appreciate her honesty and she 100 percent should be praised for it). I came during brunch (even on a weekday). They also serve French toast, desserts, oysters, burrata, potstickers and tuna tartare, salads, burgers and other sandwiches. If you come for lunch or dinner, you can also get grilled salmon, blackened redfish, shrimp and grits, pastas (cajun chicken, pappardelle bolognese, tortellini) as well as various cuts of steak. It's conveniently located right across from the Frist Museum and is part of the Union Station Hotel. I would try this place again for dinner, but would skip the brunch. And again, Savanna was top tier! She deserves all the flowers!

This time, we switched things up and hit it for lunch instead. Good call. We grabbed seats at the bar, where Todd was holding down the fort. The guy was outstanding. Drinks never sat empty, food came out smoothly, and he somehow managed to be attentive without hovering over us every five minutes asking if everything was okay. My wife started with the Nashville Margue, which goes down way too easy for something packing moonshine. Light, refreshing, and carrying enough kick to remind you you're in Tennessee. Then Todd introduced us to a Bloody Mary made with a new pickle-infused vodka. Now, that sounds like one of those ideas that should either be amazing or a complete disaster. Turns out it's amazing. My wife loved it so much she's already talking about coming back tomorrow for another one. For food, we started with the pretzels and beer cheese. Simple. Warm. Soft. Salty. Exactly what you want while settling into a Nashville afternoon. Nothing fancy, just done right. Then I went all in on the mac and cheese topped with Nashville hot chicken. Yee Haw. Creamy mac and cheese. Crispy chicken. That signature Nashville heat. Comfort food with a little attitude. Just the way it should be. The best thing about The Stillery is that it knows exactly what it is. Good food. Good drinks. Good people. No gimmicks. No trying too hard. Just a fun place to sit down, relax, and enjoy yourself. Fifteen trips to Nashville (together) and it's still one of our first stops. That's probably the strongest review I can give. Five stars.

It paired perfectly with the BBQ sauce and those baked beans? OH MY GOD. The baked beans were seriously the star of the meal for me.. sweet, smoky, flavorful, and completely addicting. I could've eaten a whole bowl by myself The mac & cheese was also creamy and delicious, just solid comfort food all around. My husband loved his chicken too. I also tried the Tennessee Sour and let me just say... they do not play around with drinks out here It was really good, but one more and I probably would've been done for the night lol. The small signage made it a little difficult to find inside the Marriott (see pictures), but from the moment we walked in, heard the live piano player and saw the dining area - we knew this would be a great experience. We started off by sharing orders of Lobster Bisque (see picture) and Burrata with Toast (see pictures). We really enjoyed both of them - the Lobster Bisque was so creamy and smooth and the Burrata was cool, fresh and clean. They were a great combination to start our dinner experience and I would recommend both of them. Since it was a Friday during lent, my wife opted for the BBQ Shrimp Pasta (see picture) and I went with the Daily Fish Special on Blue Corn Grits (see picture). As we always do when we go out, we shared our plates and really enjoyed both of them. The BBQ Shrimp Pasta was rich, buttery and smooth and the Fish Special was a tasty white, flaky and blackened fish served on a bed of rich, creamy blue corn grits. Here again, both are highly recommended. We had read somewhere that Acme Feed & Seed (in an historic 1890 building) offered a quieter alternative. We gathered around a nice table near the stage on the first floor, and maybe there were a dozen other people there? Yet, on the next Broadway block things were in full swing? We weren't complaining, but wondered why? The first floor at Acme has been described as a high-energy "Funky Tonk" atmosphere featuring a main stage for live music, a large bar, and fast-casual dining. Our band during our stage was even a little different than that, and what an enjoyable group is was! The Mudbug Stompers brought us the sounds of old-time jug bands, Dixieland jazz, blues, trains, baseball, and crawfish boils. Although this is a Nashville Band, we could have easy been on or around Bourbon Street in NOLA. I was particularly impressed with the trumpet player and the lead singer who played a mean mandolin. Add the string base, sax, and fiddle, and we experienced a very impressive whole. We were highly entertained and engaged, and we're still talking about the experience!
