I found Rochelle (The Modern U) through Yelp several years ago. I was looking for an Esthetician that could help me with horrible hyperpigmentation on my face. Services with other "professional" proved to be unsuccessful with resolving my issue and in one circumstance it appeared to make the discoloration worst. Before coming to Rochelle, I would never leave the house without applying full makeup because I was so insecure with the discoloration of my skin. After my first consultation, she explained to me why previous methods with other "professionals" didn't work and suggested a series of treatments tailored to my specific needs. Rochelle is the best! Ever since I could remember I had really bad acne and bad hyper-pigmentation. I spent hundreds of dollars on fancy skin care brands and just couldn't figure out what to do to help my skin. When I found her my skin was the worst it had ever been! We did a virtual consultation due to COVID-19 in August 2020 and she started by recommending skin care products I should use. She explained exactly what was going to happen when I started using the products, like purging!!! But I knew to be patient, wait, and trust her. Rochelle takes her time and puts the work in to extract a lot (which I love) but if you don't, it's something that can easily be accommodated. Dedicate to your home routine she recommends and trust the process and you will be on your beautiful skin journey. When I first came to Rochelle it was after losing my esthetician and my acne being back to full on flared including cystic acne (ouch!) - here we are three years later and I can't stop raving to everyone about Rochelle. Prior to coming to Modern Ū I would literally cry most days and not want to go anywhere when my skin was so bad, so of course my confidence was a complete low as well. One of the few facials I have ever had where I see immediate results. It was my first time booking an appointment with Rochelle last week and I'm glad I did. Her space where she works out of in clean, inviting and has soothing music playing throughout. She analyzed my skin before starting and explained every step throughout the treatment. She was very informative on the various products and steps I could implement at along the way. I don't have acne but I do have milia that appear to be more frequent as I age. I have had a few esthetician's in the past attempt to get rid of the ones that are not around my eyes with mediocre results. Rochelle is a fairy "skincare" godmother. I have struggle with acne since I was a teenager and as an adult, acne and acne scars. I've tried everything!!! I've spent over $10k trying to be acne free and minimizing scars. I pretty much gave up on the idea I will be acne free or able to leave the house without makeup. Then I walked into ModernU for a microcurrent treatment. She was talking to me about my skin and recommended products and treatments. I was skeptical with what she said, but I decided what could it hurt if I tried a new face wash and toner? I was almost out of my products at home. A couple of weeks later blackheads were falling off my face and I had less acne. After 2 months of using the products, I came in for a 30min extraction appointment, but needed an hour. I didn't realize my skin was so congested. After my skin healed, I couldn't believe how good it looked. Why didn't I find her sooner?!?! But real talk...Rochelle takes time to discuss your skin goals and explains what is realistic and how long it'll take. What I really appreciate is she doesn't try to up sell you on treatments or products you don't need. I cannot recommend Rochelle enough! She is literally the skin whisperer. I had seen multiple dermatologists who told me I have rosacea and insisted on prescribing me pills which didn't work. I got my first facial this last Saturday from Rochelle. I was a little bit intimidated because I have really sensitive skin and my chin has been very broken out. I was happy to find that it was actually really relaxing and was just what my skin needed! Beautiful, safe location with parking. Clean, open office, and relaxing bed. Customer service was impeccable. She responded immediately, I booked right away, and saw her a few days later. The service was so relaxing and educating. She explained everything she was doing and what was going on with my skin. I had a facial and light peel. My skin is more sensitive than I thought because I peel for about two weeks even though the peel was light. The Vivant daily skin repair pads have helped so much and the PCA skin weightless sunblock is like silk, it does clog my pores at all. I'm overall really happy. I saw Rochelle for a series of microcurrent treatments and a couple of facials. One was a pumpkin peel and I forgot what the other one was. My skin was looking dull and more lax around my jawline and neck. I noticed a difference after the first treatment. My skin almost felt like it was tighter by that afternoon.
