I love this place. A hidden gem, located in the cove of Deerfield. The staff is always super friendly and cheerful, the decor is antique and quaint, the drink options are extensive and tasty. They offer milk alternatives like almond milk and they have lavender or rose flavored lattes/cappuccinos too. For today's visit we tried various iced mochas, as they looked amazing. They tasted just as amazing and the drink had plenty of drink as opposed to being majority ice. We also tried the avocado toast- regular and spicy. The 1/2 option is just 1 piece, but I really liked the spicy version- which was not spicy at all but rather more flavorful. The only downsides to this amazing place are the hours- they don't open until 10, and the limited seating. Biggest pro, other than the taste of course, is that if you ask for any customizations they are always happy to oblige. read more

My husband and I were visiting my family in Deerfield, so we thought we would check out the Modern Rose since it was right down the street. This place was SO cute. The decor was lovely, the ambiance was great. The food was delicious, I had the street corn avocado toast and my grandma had the berry toast. Both were great! I also had the macha latte with boba, it was just okay. My husband had a croissant and said it was good too. Overall the staff were very nice as well. I gave this place 4 stars only due to price. Stopped by this place with my wife today for a day date and was extremely impressed. Staff was friendly, upbeat and happily answered All my questions. The decor was really nice, it made my wife happy, so I was happy. For was excellent. We both loved or sandwiches and drinks. The prices were a bit later lower than I would have expected for the quality and freshness of the menu. Both of us are looking forward to trying more of the menu. read more

What a wonderful place. It's a gem. Fantastic coffee, delectable munchables. They wonderfully cater to Gluten-friendly dietary restrictions. Don't even question it or second guess it. Consider your café search to be complete. The only downside is their lack of space, and consciousness to help the matter. We were a party of 4, able to only sit at one table inside, or one outside. Given the Florida's moody weather, we were urged to go inside. At the large table sat only 2 people, one of them was part of the team, the other a customer. It was a bit discouraging that no one of the staff was willing to help make space for our party. Especially considering one of the individuals worked there, yet didn't consider to move for our party. As for the customer, the staff was unwilling to ask her to swap tables, so I had to do it myself. This was the only part of the experience that was very unpleasant. Granted, it's a small café with limited space. However, all of your customers are paying guests who deserve the same level of comfort. My recommendation to management: Place a sign on the large table that says "please be thoughtful to larger parties" That way, if a 4/5 person party walks in, perhaps your customers would be thoughtful enough to move on their own. Otherwise, removing the discomfort from having to ask for space. More importantly, train your team to be aware of the limited space, and how important it may be for them to move their laptop work so your paying customers may sit and enjoy their food and drinks. Despite the issue with seating, space, and unwillingness of the staff to help the matter.... everything truly was beyond perfect and enjoyable. I will maintain all stars because this is merely feedback for a learning experience. It is unnecessary to discount a star over a situation that is easily fixable. Holy cow! I live within walking distance of this cafe in Hollywood and only discovered it while going to the UPS store next door. I wasn't sure about eating here because the menu was so different and I had no idea what order, but I was hungry and ordered the simple egg sandwich to go. How can an egg sandwich be so good? Half was enough for me, but I ate the entire sandwich. It is a small charming cafe and parking can be a challenge- even though there is parking in the rear, but I am looking forward to trying many of their other menu items. Rest was uncomfortable benches, stools or comfy couches which isn't good for eating w fork knife on a plate. We tried sitting at one of the tables at 11:50 am and was told it was reserved at 12 - at 12:15 and haven't received our food yet the table was still empty and I asked to sit there again but they said they called to say now they would be there at 1230. I asked about our food finally 7 minutes later it comes out and we finish eating and leave by 1235 and the table we could've sat at comfortably was still empty... yes food was very tasty but took 30 minutes to make eggs... The Modern Rose has been sitting in a Yelp collection of places I've wanted to visit for some time now. I finally marked it off my list and am already thinking of when I can go back. The best word I can use to describe the interior is eclectic. Mismatched furniture, tea cups, mugs and signs all perfectly fit together to create quite a cozy place to sip one of the artfully created tea or coffee. I was so impressed with the presentation of my tea when it came out. I also enjoyed quiche that was tasty. The team member said they don't have a fixed menu since the offerings change daily. Some items were marked vegan and gluten free which my friend took advantage of. We also split a slice of banana coconut bread and it was divine. I sipped on a hot tea that mixed banana and vanilla flavors. The fellow behind the counter reminded me of a mixologist only with teas and not alcohol. The main question on my mind. How have I not come here sooner? It is an experience from the flavorful food you eat to the hot or cold beverage you sip. read more
