The Modern Tea Room is always a wonderful place to eat. The team there is always friendly and service is fast. The food is always delicious. This time I ordered the Piña Colada Milk Tea with Almond milk, the small bite cracker plate, and the raw walnut tacos with corn tortillas instead of lettuce wraps. I typically won't drink a milk tea, but I must say, it was worth stepping outside of my comfort zone. It had the creamy and smooth texture and just the right amount of pineapple and coconut sweetness. The small bite cracker plate was perfect as well. Light, flaky, and airy texture, a sprinkle of feta cheese, balsamic vinegar drizzle with fresh grape tomatoes cut in half. Absolutely delicious. Last, but never least, the walnut tacos. These are my favorite, mostly because they have a fresh blend of ground cumin and chili powder with an avocado sauce. If you're looking for a place with reasonable prices, nice portion sizes, delicious food, and friendly faces, then the Modern Tea Room is the place for you! read more

I don't know what I love more, the delicious drinks, the amazing food, or the quaint atmosphere! Whether you're at the bar, or the table, the service is always great! I can never decide which drink to order, so I check out the Instagram page, or just ask my server what they recommend. My all time go to meal is the Oh Avo Avo! Try adding Jackfruit to anything, because this is one of the best places for seasoned and prepared Jackfruit!! Whether you're wanting an escape to a cozy place, or want a date with a friend, this place is a must ! Absolutely amazing! Huge list of vegan choices for breakfast and lunch and a ton of tea-based drinks to choose from. Small space downtown Lancaster, the server was alone mid-week but still got around to everyone and we had a decently-sized group that she had to clean a couple tables for. Everyone was very happy with the food. Vegan lox was delightful, super yummy cashew cheese and tomato lox with sprouts and pickled onions. Chia pudding was so tasty too, really creamy and perfectly sweetened with fruit compote. Will definitely return when I'm in Lancaster again. read more

First time visiting after many years just passing by. I stopped to get some sandwiches across the street and figured I'm going to get some tea today! Am I happy that I did! The place was clean and spotless and you can tell it's very well kept. With the Covid 19 epidemic going on I know how reassuring it is to some to go into a clean establishment. I was immediately greeted by Miguel who was very helpful in giving me menus to look over and even offered some suggestions. I ordered the gummy bear as it was one of the suggestions, and it sounded amazing after reading the ingredients on the menu. While I was waiting there was an enthusiastic young woman who was a delight to talk to. I didn't get a chance to get her name, although I believe she may have been the manager or owner. The tea was refreshing and hit the spot as the perfect companion to my food. I'm short I will definitely be back and continue to support them as a local business and as my new favorite tea shop. The Modern Tea Room is a cute little place right in the middle of downtown Lancaster. Although not a vegetarian restaurant, they have an extensive vegan menu, and many options for dairy-eating vegetarians as well. We came in in the middle of the afternoon just for a quick snack and drink and didn't order much food, but everything we saw it coming out of the kitchen looked absolutely gorgeous. There is a cheese plate you can get. (There's something about a restaurant that offers a cheese plate, that automatically gives it a couple extra stars in my book.) My wife and I both enjoyed the drinks that we got. Of course the team menu here is quite extensive with many, many options for hot and iced teas, plus some more creative team-based beverages they offer. In particular I enjoyed the Organic Monk's blend iced tea that I got which I thought was steeped perfectly (I like a strong black tea and they serve it up just the way I wanted it) and not overly sweet. It was served in a pint glass, with a "head "which I made it look a lot like beer and reminded me of the time I was in Belgium and a tour guide at a bear brewery told us that no one should ever drink their beer before the head completely dissipates. I didn't pay attention to that with my iced tea and allowed myself to get a tea mustache. It also came with an extra little carafe of even more tea that I could refresh my glass with when I was getting low. Over all of this gave the impression that this beverage was truly handcrafted, and it was quite impressive. Our nine-year-old had the caramel vanilla candy kids tea, which he thought was OK. It's cool that they do these special creative tea drinks for kids, but sometimes kids just want something pretty basic so this one wasn't necessarily a win for him. He did love the crumb cake though which is served with a side of sweet cream and drizzled with caramel. And it was a pretty impressive looking desserts! We were just in Lancaster for the day, but if we lived in the area we would definitely come back for a meal because everything looked so good. This is a unique spot in the middle of downtown Lancaster that shouldn't be missed. read more

I'm so sad this place didn't exist when I grew up here in Lancaster. Whenever I am back to visit this place is a must. If you love tea or just good beverages in general you have to try it out. Everything I've ordered is amazing but I would highly recommend their peach milk tea. You can tell they care about the products they are putting out and it reflects in the quality. LOVE IT. This is for sure my favorite place in the AV. Keep in mind it's a small business, so they often take a while to get your food out. So don't go when you're short on time. But their food is amazing, they have both vegan and non vegan options, so you can please everyone you're with. Try it, you'll love it. I came back to edit because I forgot about their teas. YUM. They have soooo many choices, I think they have more drink options than any other place I've gone. You're able to get you drink sweet or not sweetened. Regular tea mixes, or with milk or milk alternatives. Same as food, small place so it takes a while, AND they're made right. Tea needs to steep, so go when you've got ample time. read more

The Walnut Burrito is fantastic! I recently began avoiding meat (mostly for health reasons) and haven't found much that appeals to my palette... until today! This burrito is delicious. I grew up not liking onions and though I've made myself grow to tolerate sweet onions but I never gained the same affection for red onions. To me they were the absolute worse. Second time ordering over the phone/online and the wait time was longer for each occasion. I even wait just a little longer to go in because I personally hate waiting with a bunch of people in a small space. Then to still have to wait basically 30 minutes+ for 2 items is outrageous.
