Came here for lunch two times in a week. Wanted to try a couple different options. The first time we got the breakfast scramble, French toast and the chilaquiles. All items were from the vegan menu. The breakfast scramble 3 out of 5. The potatoes were my favorite. The French toast 4 out of 5. The center was a bit undercooked but I still scarfed them down. Now the chilaquiles were the home run. These are a 6 out of 5! Absolute fire! I almost forgot their coffee was REALLY good and strong too! Came back the second time and we have the tostada salad 4 out of 5. I wanted to love it. The inside was delicious but the shell tasted like perfume. We also got the vegan "chicken" burrito wet with mole sauce. Delicious 4 out of 5. The home run this day was the vegan "chicken" burrito with green sauce. 5 out of 5. * A couple things to note: 1. This is NOT fast food! This is task food made to order. It will take a little time but will be worth it. 2. This is a small family owned business. There are only a couple employees, be patient and kind. It will pay off. 3. Know you are making a difference with your hard earned money when you support small local businesses. 4. I went to this place for the first time and I didn't have a good experience. Soon as my friend and I sat down the waiter came up to us and said they aren't taking anymore orders it was 1:30 and they didn't close until 3. So my quest for a healthy lunch date took a weird turn today. I found this restaurant via Google, viewed their menu and was so excited because they also had vegan options. Sent the boyfriend because I was in a work training. Boyfriend excited because he's also on a health journey. Boyfriend orders the vegan wild berry pancakes, and I went for a So Cal wrap. We set up a "backyard healthy lunch date". How romantic right? Great weather today, healthy vibes, you get the mood? Pancakes were on point, but then I find a hair in my wrap. Major buzzkill. Boyfriend, being the hero, goes back to sort it out, but the cashier's all like, "You probably had that hair" and stated that they needed to see the hair. My boyfriend explains that I spat it out on the ground and explained that he only wanted a replacement wrap and no money back. Cashier calls owner. Owner tells my boyfriend to call health department smh and refused to give him a replacement or refund. My boyfriend feeling defeated calls me and of course Im complaining because what does that mean NO LUNCH AT ALL? Lol. Us girls love our food. Happy spouse, happy house. So I decide to go speak with cashier because I was the one who found the hair. I explain to cashier that this is wrong and Im a person of integrity and would not just complain to cause havoc. I just wanted a great lunch, but now would like a refund due to their customer service. Cashier still refused to give refund or replacement. Cashier calls owner and they threaten to call the cops! I say ok because I for sure knew I was not wrong whatsoever. I never thought I will be protesting for food...healthy food at that? Hmm maybe for a carne asada burrito. Lol but anyway here we are! Cops show up, talk sense, and finally, they cave for a refund and finally cashier offers to make a replacement. I do not want the replacement now sir. Why the unnecessary drama over a $12 wrap? The manager then ask the officers if they can make a report that they gave us a refund and also can we not come back to their restaurant again. Who would want to come back? All of this was ridiculous and it ruined our healthy lil backyard boogie lunch date. Now back to work we go. But overall, glad I got my money back. Thank you AV officers! I'd like to say the customer service here is pretty awful. Walked in the minute they opened and was the only one there. Two employees were standing at the counter and it took them a couple of minutes to stop their conversation to even acknowledge we were there. When they finally decided it was time to take our order the guy kept rushing us. Again, we were the ONLY ones in there and we are placing a to-go order for 5 people. What's the freaking rush!? I ended up ordering something I didn't even care for because I felt so pressured to just pick something. As much as this dude was rushing me it took the OVER 40 mins to give me my food. Where was the rushing there!? To top it off, the item I ended up picking was the quesadilla which wasn't even all that good anyways. I give it two stars because the chilaquiles was decent and I want to give credit where it's due. There's a line of hungry folks, and we're all just waiting there while they're going on and on about who knows what. I understand that people want to talk and connect, but there's a time and place for everything. Especially when there's a line of hungry customers waiting. A very nice little cafe with a good assortment of vegan, vegetarian, and even gluten free options. The ingredients are very fresh and the staff were very kind accommodating our larger group and letting us push together some tables. We had wraps, sandwiches, and smoothies and everything had lots of flavor. I got the chicken portobello sandwich and layers of flavor, the potato salad tastes a little curried and arugula is basalmic I think. The parking is a shared lot with a couple businesses, but plenty of space. It's a small cafe but very good and worth the trip for their customer service. My mom forgot to ask for gluten free bread and they made her another no charge when it was our bad messing up so I insisted we pay. They opened during Covid which is a huge struggle so they try hard to do a good job. Highly recommend even for a quick smoothie read more
