I have never had a bad experience at modern tea room. I LOVE it here! I live in Palmdale but I commute to Lancaster weekly because the food and service is so incredible! The staff is kind and easy to talk to, the menu is amazing and they continuously add new food items and teas. The space is beautiful and great for grabbing brunch with a friend! All of the Teas/ drinks here are so delicious! I've gone for breakfast and lunch before. For breakfast I got their French toast that comes with a side of eggs and sausage, it was good but the eggs were runny and I didn't eat them because of that. For lunch I always like to get the turkey sandwich on molasses bread- it is to die for, looks like a normal sandwich but taste is amazing. My boyfriend always gets the buffalo chicken sandwich and is totally worth it as well. All the staff is always super nice as well. Definitely give them a try! read more

This is such a fantastic find because there aren't many shops who steep tea to-order. The woman working behind the bar was churning out loose-leaf teas in tea infusers like a boss. The menu though was quite dizzying -- they had a gang of tea options! They had an immense list of traditional tea, all sold individually or by the pot. Funner options came in the form of their tea infusions and milk teas. I love all things spiced, so the *Masala Chai Mode* caught my unwavering attention. Sad to say that this was just very sweet and cinnamon'y; it so lacked the dimension, spice, and herbal quality of chai, let alone masala chai. The food options leaned on the healthier side with most of the menu occupied by sandwiches. Vegan options were available separately on a loose-leaf menu. I ordered the *Classic Turkey* ($8.95) with a salad and was so entirely OBSESSED with the dark wheat bread it was made with. Otherwise, the ingredients used (turkey breast, aged sharp cheddar, house tea-infused mayo, etc) weren't anything special. The fact that the turkey was cold was a bit of a let down too. The salad on the side though was refreshing and came with this wonderful raspberry vinaigrette as a dressing. I imagine myself popping in again if I am ever in the area again, and just so I can get my hands on a sandwich with that miraculous dark wheat bread! read more

Vegan options that pack a punch of flavor! I just so happened to drop by The Modern Tea Room after a soccer game with my children. I'm not from Lancaster and I wasn't sure what type of vegan options would be available in the area, but I was delighted to have found this place. The vibe in the Modern Tea Room is eclectic with Art, great natural lighting, helpful staff, tasty milk teas (I had the vegan horchata which was amazing), and nice indoor and outdoor dining options. I had the Jackfruit Burrito and Walnut Burrito, both which were packed with flavor and the jackfruit wasn't slimy . I'll definitely be back to try their Vegan Jackfruit Philly Cheesesteak sandwich . Where do I start, the service was so friendly and welcoming, the decor and energy are so positive, the menu has everything you could ever want (so many vegan options also). The food was so fresh and delicious, I got the vegan breakfast tacos and my husband got the french toast with turkey sausage. The tacos were the perfect mix of ingredients and so fresh! The French toast actually had crispness to it, not over-battered and limp, with the cinnamon butter it didn't even need the syrup. My new favorite place! The food here is pretty good. The jackfruit burrito is my favorite. My main issue is the efficiency. Even if you order ahead of time, they just won't have it ready for you to come in and grab and go - which is what I need for brief work breaks. I'll ask for something on the side, every single time without fail they will wait for me to get there, stand the line, then slowly look for that side and a container etc etc. it would be a way better experience if the full order would just be ready and when they text you for you grab ur order pay and leave. read more

Love this place! We were in town to see the poppy fields and having searched on Yelp, The Modern Tea Room popped up. We were able to make reservations in advance, which was nice. There is also tons of parking in the back, as well as on the street. I ordered the egg salad sandwich, which came with some kind of sweet jam in the middle. Delicious! My husband got the OG, and my friend let me try her chicken and artichoke sandwich as well. Everything was super tasty and fresh. We also ordered a cheese plate to share. They served a type of goat cheese with honey and normally I am not a fan of goat cheese, but it worked in this case. The waiters here are also the sweetest. My friend spilled her drink by accident and it got all over the table, and the floor. They quickly cleaned it all up and offered to bring us a new one (and in a to go cup since they knew we were almost done with our meal). This place deserves 7 out of 5 stars for having good food, reasonable prices and great service. read more

My sister and I went to this location right after going to a coffee shop that was pricy and not very tasty, and it was a great palette refresher! We both ordered mango lemonades, and it was probably the best lemonade I have ever had. They were served on these huge Mason jars and we definitely couldn't have finished them while dining in, but they were certainly not out to waste. My sister got the Mexicana while I got the Chipotle Modern Turkey Melt, and they were divine. I preferred my sandwich, which was more savory than the Mexicana, which somehow tasted a bit sweet, in a bbq sauce type of way. The servers were so polite and friendly, waiting for us to finish our conversation before they were asking about the food. The Modern Tearoom has a bit of a rustic atmosphere to it. It reminds me of those "millennial restaurants", but in a good way. It's comfy and it's a great place to have a chat. read more

I went and got the churro French toast meal and it was hands down one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. PERIODT. There aren't very many vegan restaurants in Lancaster so thank you for being around! I've eaten here about 5 times, 3 times in store and 2 twice via pick up. Everything I've had was vegan, and daughter tried everything non-vegan. I'd say the food is delicious but I would like to see the jackfruit 3 tacos order accompanied by beans and rice on the side. It was the only entree I ordered that I've tried that didn't fill me up. Secondly, would be nice if the tables were wiped down more often, and if it was a little more organized. My table had food left on it after employee came and wiped it lol. I just put a bunch of napkins covering the whole table lol because it happens. The staff is cool, not the most outgoing but also not disrespectful. The pick up process is on point. No hassle at all. All in all, passable. Most important thing is their food is awesome for vegan-diet folks. Just a few improvements and could be a 5/5 spot. Nonetheless thank you for the service and food. read more

This place is literally my second home! I've been coming here since they've opened up and I've been hooked ever since. The customer service is TOP TIER and I don't even know where to begin to describe how AMAZING their food and teas are. The vibe is always right every time I come and theirs always something new about the place whether it is new items to the food/drink menu, the weekly mouth drops, or the new designs and art work displayed on the walls. I usually get bored with places after going to them after a while but NOT WITH THIS PLACE! I am going on 8 years strong coming to the Modern Tea Room and they deliver every time.
