Listen... I walked into Mofongo King like a normal human being and walked out like I needed a forklift. First of all, that mofongo? Built like a brick. Not a side dish a structural foundation. If there's ever a hurricane in Port St. Lucie, I'm hiding behind that thing. Garlic, flavor, soul... it tasted like somebody's abuela stood in the kitchen whispering, "Eat, mijo." The pork? Crispy, juicy, and seasoned like it just won a Grammy for Best Supporting Meat. And those pickled onions on top? They came in like backup dancers adding drama and attitude. The garlic sauce sitting on top of the mofongo like it owns the place? Elite behavior. I poured it on and immediately forgave everyone who ever wronged me. Portions? Absolutely disrespectful. I ordered lunch and accidentally secured dinner and emotional support leftovers. Service was on point, food came out hot, and the aroma alone probably raised property values in the plaza. If you leave hungry, that's on you. If you leave without a food coma, you did it wrong. Mofongo King isn't just a name it's a warning.

The food and service was awesome the Pork Shoulder what we call pernil was amazing and so was the Alcapurias, pastelitos we had a great time.

Drove all the way from NJ to eat dinner with my family at "The Mofongo King" July 2026 and the food was NOT at all good! The waitress was the worst I do not recommend this restaurant whatsoever; they're only good for online skits and videos! Respectfully note that the restaurant was empty upon arrival no customers ... see for yourself check out the pics attached below -

I didn't go into the restaurant but I did order food for delivery at the hotel. They delivered sooner than anticipated and the food was fantastic. I ordered the mofongo with chicharrón de pollo. The chicken was absolutely tasty! The mofongo was good, even as leftovers. It was a little drier than I would like but still good. I also ordered the alcapurrias. These were delicious! I would definitely recommend this place.

The food was great, good portions, good sizes. The staff was kind and attentive. Very cute inside with colorful murals and Latin music playing.

okay so i finally tried Mofongo King and i honestly don't know why i waited so long the mofongo was SO good, perfectly seasoned, soft, not dry at all, and the carne frita on top was bussin. the vibe inside is super chill and welcoming, bachata playing in the background, staff was super friendly too. portion sizes are huge btw, i literally had leftovers for the next day lol. if you haven't been yet you're missing out from

Hello Yelp fam! Since moving to Port St Lucie FL we're trying all kinds of new joints. My family recently sent me a video of this Puerto Rican spot which happens to be 10 mins from my house, so we gave it a shot. This place is in a strip mall, right next to a Mexican restaurant. It's got a few tables and chairs in front of the window, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside you're greeted by this 3 ft tall mortar and pestle (un pilón), a friendly young lady that takes you to your table. On opposite walls are huge murals depicting the beautiful island. The tables are comfortably spaced so you're not on top of each other. There's merengue and salsa music playing overhead making you dance in your seat, just loud enough to enjoy it and still be able to have a conversation without having to yell. The name suggests the mofongo is the best, and it didn't disappoint! I haven't had mofongo this good since I had it back on the island! It was creamy, packed with chunks of chicharrón. Speaking of chicharrón, the appetizer of this mouthwatering delight was a full pound! I mean huge pieces of meat, not a couple of pieces of meat and the rest fat, no, this was awesome! I had arroz mamposteao, which is day old rice mixed with habichuelas, sofrito, and plantains. A side of conch completed my meal. The wife had steak and onions along with the mofongo and man o man, everything was excellent! I was food dancing the entire time. The vibe was that of a neighborhood eatery, reminiscent of what you see in PR. Relaxed, everyone was enjoying the food and chatting with the table next to you. The beer and wine selection isn't extensive, but it'll do. It was a bit pricey, but for the amount of food that was served, worth it. I wish I could give 8 stars, the place deserves it. I'm already telling my kids to prepare themselves! Definitely keeping Mofongo King on speed dial!

If the picture isn't enough read the rest... Still dreaming about this Father's Day feast in Port St. Lucie Hands down one of the best meals we've had in a while! The Kan-Kan pork chop? A crispy, juicy, flavor bomb that deserves its own holiday. The churrasco? Cooked to perfection... tender, juicy, and seasoned like it was blessed by the grill gods. And the alcapurrias?? Let's just say I'm still fantasizing about them. Golden, crunchy, and filled with pure magic. Everything was bursting with flavor, soul, and tradition. If you're in Port St. Lucie and don't eat here, you're doing it wrong. 10/10. No notes. Just go.

Wow! I can't say enough about this restaurant! We were visiting family in the area and because we saw a huge sign for mofongo we had to stop in! Jose, the owner gave us a run down of the business, where they started and how they recently renovated the inside of the restaurant to level up and match their quality of food. He definitely was right about the quality of his food! Outstanding- from the apps we ordered, yuca fries and cornmeal sticks with the delicious sauces to our entrees with mofongo. Literally everything was delicious, plentiful and kept you wanting more! Their homemade hot sauce is chefs kiss!! The family we came with never had authentic Puerto Rican food and walked out of the restaurant raving about the food, wanting to bring their friends next time! They have awesome homemade sangria (and I hear their coquito is pretty great too). They also have a takeout counter to grab a quick meal that'll keep you full for many HOURS! Jose, thank you for making us feel at home and we can't wait to visit again soon!

My wife couldn't finish hers either. So much good food.

I can't figure out why this place isn't 5 states across the board. I eat all over the eastern seaboard, never at anything other than non-chain restaurants. I ate at a place last night in Hallandale that somehow had 4.9 stars with over 1900 reviews. I wasn't impressed at all. Here it's 3.9 and shouldn't be. Do yourself a favor. Come here and come here often. The mofongo is phenomenal. I got the grilled chicken in creole sauce. My wife got the mofongo with pulled pork. We didn't speak to each other after the first bite. Couldn't get enough. It's delicious. We travel to Florida on the turnpike often. We'll be back

    Mofongo con carne frita

Drove over an hour cause I'm a fan of their videos. Everything great except the mofongo (their namesake) gets a 4/10. They obviously prepare a garlic sauce but they overdid it and mofongo was served very soft almost runny. Worth another try but I'll definitely ask for less garlic in mofongo

Fried cheese and guava sause was so good!!!!

Our table ordered a pork platter, mufongo, and beef (steak)/Shrimp tacos and it was GOOD. I ate two out of my three tacos before I had the sense to take a picture of it. Absolutely insane how good this food was, and the portion sizes were outstanding. I should've stopped eating but I couldn't, otherwise I would've left with more takeout and I could be enjoying this for lunch tomorrow. This place was everything you could dream of for a Puerto Rican restaurant, from the neon lights down to the wall mural in the main dining room. There is no reason this place shouldn't be packed. Let me start my review by saying the food was really good and worthy of a 5 star rating on its own…read more BUT...my experience with this resturant is a classic example of how service can just take away from the food quality. My work colleagues and I were greeted by a friendly host and sat at a table. But everything from service went down hill from there when our actual table server arrived. We were immediately greeted with "You ready", with a frowned face. We asked for water with lemon (never received) and was later served water from a pitcher (without lemons) only later to see an adjacent table served water from a picture with lemon and orange slices. Didn't make much of that. But when our waiter returned to take our order the second time, again with the same "you ready" frown faced I asked for help with the menu. I could hear her sigh so loud I wanted not to believe the feeling that we were bothering her in some way; and there was maybe only a quarter of the tables with customers. After placing our orders I asked my colleagues if they were getting the same vibe as I was from her and they both felt the same way. From my seating angle I could see this young lady server when she approached the front bar/seating area of the restaurant; which appeared to be where the other waiters all gathered when waiting. But I noticed her smiling and engaging in friendly conversation with two customers sitting at the bar. I noticed this difference from how she treated us vs these other guest throughout the entire time. With them she was smiling, engaging and not in any flirtatious way, but seemingly just being nice....being a good waiter. Clearly she was choosing NOT to be nice to us, and this bothered me internally because I did not know why. Our friendly greeter from when we arrived was seen serving another table and whose behavior was consistently friendly with everyone. So why the difference with our waiter I kept asking myself. I still gave a generous tip despite this service. It was important to me to do so, but I probably won't be back here, and this would have been a nice place to go back to with mi amor.
