I was a little apprehensive, even though i live and breathe design oriented stores. Just walking in made my adrenaline flow! I saw brands that i know and love and an eclectic bunch of accessories and "chotchkies" that make the store stand out from everyone else! The owners are brilliant with their buying and merchandising expertise and I'm now in love! The store fits in perfectly with the Blakeney vibe and demographic and I hope they grow and prosper for many years to come. What a pleasure it was to see such a beautiful shop and meet and work with some of the friendliest and most welcoming staff. I will be back, for sure!!!!

We just finished lunch at Emmets Social Table and decided to stop in. It's a very nice shop with lots of unique gifts and supplies for entertaining. There are items for kids, teens and adults. It's very clean and well set up for just cruising and shopping. The lady at the register was very nice and friendly and said they had done some creative things to manage through COVID. If you are looking for unusual and unique, you need to check this place out and support your local business.

We went to department stores in the area and it was just not the same- we barely got any attention and they did not know the answers to our questions, they also did not have a big selection- don't waste your time there, just come to Shower Me with Love!! And ask for Joyce, she's amazing! We then came back on a Sunday for the car seat and got the same experience- so helpful and knowledgeable. They did not have what we needed in stock either time, but they ordered them to the store, called us when they were ready and we came back and picked them up. The best part on ordering strollers, car seats or furniture from them is that they have a promotion where you get 25% back on a gift card to purchase on anything (that isn't furniture, car seats or strollers) to use within 6 months. They also have any/all baby gear you need! Baby blankets, towels, bath toys, stuffed animals, baby carriers, hair bows, baby socks/tights, hats, etc. And they have lots of clothes sized premie to toddler, and all the best brands (The Beaufort Bonnet Company, Kissy Kissy, Magnetic Me, Pink Chicken, etc.). it is definitely the place to go if you need a baby shower gift!! However, I'm in the market for a double stroller and being that many are $$$, I wanted to make sure I was able to get my hands on one first to see all the features in person. Shower me with love was one of the only stores that came up in my search for baby stores around Charlotte. I was happy it opened at 9am.. accommodates a toddler who also wakes up early! My husband, daughter, and I came here and were initially excited to see an abundance of strollers in the window. Our excitement ended there. When we entered the store, it appeared like no employees were in sight. I grabbed the 2 double strollers I saw and wheeled them around the store to get a feel for them. Of course no price tags are on the products ($$$ ughhh). So, I was waiting around, looking for an employee to ask. I only found one when I went to the checkout area. It was at that time I was informed that the only 2 people qualified to educate and talk to me about strollers were not working that day! No other employee could help. Seriously? So I guess that's why the stroller part of the store was ignored (there were a couple other families there looking lost and wondering were help was). So we left. The good part is, that one of the employees was able to tell me the cost of the stroller I was looking at. I found the same stroller online, on sale, for a fraction of what I would have gotten it for here.

The prices are pretty good…read moregenerally but some of the items are a little bit overpriced (for example a simple small glass bowl was $3 but a cute little metal with decorations was also $3) I always visit the shop whenever I'm in town because it's just so conveniently close and they usually have one or two things that I like whether it be small knickknacks or useful household items. Today I picked up a brand new dish drying rack for only three dollars! They also give away the occasional bakery item, which I find really nice. Most of them are just past their best by date, but are still good to eat. The young lady at the counter is always very cheerful and nice to talk to. She's been there the last two times I have been and has always been very nice and helpful. Greeting us as soon as we come in. Will be back!

This is not an old store though it is in an old building in historic downtown Waxhaw. It isn't a…read morebig store though they have a lot of stuff. There is a huge selection of candies. Some newer. Some retro. Same with the sodas in the fridge. What really sparked my interest was the sourdough starter and yogurt cultures. I only got the sourdough starter and I look forward to trying it. The Waxhaw General Store is the only place I think I've seen it on the shelf. I hope it works out.

I thought they should have had some overhead music to fill the empty space, and give it more of a vibe. They still had this bar area, where they served wine (aside from the Jackass Cafe in the back). I reached out on Facebook Marketplace and specifically asked if an item could be held until the next day, as I was working. The business assured me they would hold it, but then, out of nowhere, I got a notification that it was sold--despite my confirmed hold request. When I called for clarification, they kept giving me the runaround: first, they were too busy to check, then promised a callback that never came. After multiple attempts, I think they just blocked my number once they realized I was still trying to reach them. Ironically, they were quick to update the listing that the item sold--no issue there. But holding a customer's item as promised? Apparently, that was too much. I won't be doing business here again, and I'd strongly caution others who need reliable service.
