And the building only has two elevators -- there's literally a third shaft that was never finished because they couldn't afford to install it. Despite all of this cut-rate construction, our rent keeps climbing. The delusion is remarkable. The front desk and maintenance staff are friendly and easy to work with -- truly the only bright spot here. This place is overpriced, poorly managed, and feels like the only priority is squeezing residents for every dollar while giving the bare minimum back. Would not recommend.

Out of the five apartments we toured in person and many more virtually, she was one of the best leasing agents to communicate with. We did have a B3 (desired floor plan) open up, but it was gone within a few days! At the time of this review writing, they are at near capacity and seem to be very popular. Considering the 60-day general timeline for providing notice, we went with another option that fit our preferred moving window. Overall, though, my experience with Windsor Republic Place was positive and it was one of our top options in the area.

Besides the noise: Beware, the tap water is heavily polluted and requires filtration. It is not safe to drink even if filtered. To make matters worse, I was publicly confronted in the leasing office by a staff member named Will while I was speaking with Michael -- all because I had submitted a request to repair a vinyl cabinet wrap that was peeling and falling apart. She also assured me the buildings are being remodeled with new paint and carpet, which is wonderful, and the elevators at Oak Hill make everything so convenient--especially during move-in. My move-in was incredibly quick, and anytime I needed something, she responded right away and had maintenance on-site the same day. That level of care means a lot. Maintenance has come out and attributed it to a low battery, but despite the visits, the problem keeps happening. This is particularly concerning because an alarm is safety equipment and we need to be able to trust that it is functioning properly. What has made the experience worse is the lack of communication. We have repeatedly emailed and called regarding this and other move-in issues, and getting timely responses or permanent resolutions has been extremely difficult. Apart from this, we have experienced several other issues, including ants in the apartment, peeling, cracked flooring, incorrect parking charges and being assigned the wrong carport that was already given to another resident, all within the first 2 weeks of move-in.

Residents of The Hanover are greeted daily in the elevator with an offer to "Earn Up to $1000!" for…read morereferring new residents. On the way out the door, an eight-foot high banner pleads: "SHARE YOUR FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE". In the office, three people are employed full-time to lease vacant apartments in the 300-unit building. When a property like The Hanover struggles to rent units, it's usually because the rents are too high or the place is poorly managed. The Hanover ticks both boxes. On my move-in day, August 11, I was informed that my apartment was not ready yet, so I spent the first two nights in a hotel, at my own expense. During the inspection, I reported several items that needed repair, including the buckling carpet in the master bedroom, the faulty electrical outlet in the guest bathroom, and the two malfunctioning clocks in the kitchen (oven and microwave). Twelve weeks later (yes, twelve weeks), after multiple emails and calls, the Hanover's two maintenance men replaced the clocks and the electrical outlet. In order to fix the carpet, I was told, I would need to hire movers to remove the furniture from the master bedroom and move it back when they are done. The replacement clocks worked for a few weeks and now they don't. Interesting that at The Hanover, more people are employed to rent apartments than to maintain them. My experiences are not unique. One neighbor told me it took five months for The Hanover to repair their dishwasher. The only way she could load or unload the dishwasher was to hold the door down with her foot. Another told me that when their washing machine broke, rather than repairing it, The Hanover offered the key to a vacant apartment. Recently the Wifi in the conference rooms, which many of us use for meetings and Zooms, was out for ten days. Each visit to the package room is a scavenger hunt, amidst boxes that delivery people leave in random places. Some packages have been there for months. On Sunday, I made two trips to the package room to find a box that Amazon said was delivered. No luck. Now I keep a box at the UPS Store down the street for time-sensitive deliveries. One thing that The Hanover does quickly is send eviction notices. When my business manager had trouble with a glitch in the payment portal, he reached out to management. Three days after the rent was due, while still in the midst of trying to work around the glitch, The Hanover sent a an eviction notice and assessed a $710 late fee. Another neighbor, who was five days late, was visited by two Austin Police officers. Had I known the conditions at the Hanover, I would not have signed the lease. Unfortunately, The Hanover is charging luxury rental prices without delivering the service to match. Ironically, I am the first of several people from my company to relocate to Austin for a long-term project. We had hoped to all live under one roof at The Hanover. We'll be looking elsewhere.

We are trying to get out of our lease and the office is not letting us! Their issues with security and there have been break-ins with cars! I know neighbors have had their packages stolen and I know that is a concern with many apartment complex's! Our concern is the winter storms did a number on our apartment and we have been fighting with the office and management for four months now about the brown and black water that leaks into our apartment through the windows every time it rains! They have sent people out here, but every time the new vendor comes out they say the same thing. This is not something that they can fix by just sealing up the windows. This is a foundational problem. The windows are pulling away from the foundation, and it is very troubling and concerning! Not to mention our patio when you look up at the roof, we're on the third floor. It looks like it's about to collapse in cave in! And they still will not let us break our lease. We have three months left in our lease. We have been loyal customers for over six years. We used to love living here and the management and office have had poor communication no follow through. Nobody knows what's going on we keep getting the runaround which is not acceptable and absolutely frustrating.! For an award-winning company whose mission is to make sure that their residences are happy where they live and claims to care. They're doing a piss poor job at showing that!

This used to be such a beautiful property, bountiful with in amenities, where you could tell site…read moreleadership took pride in their work. This place has really gone down hill the past 2 years. When initially moving in the grounds were kept pristine, and maintenance was on top of everything. Seems like there was a change in site management 2 years ago and the effort in upkeep has significantly degraded. It's not uncommon to find bags of loose trash, laying on the floor next to the elevator. On the weekends when there's no trash pick up, everyone piles their garbage in front of the compactor, making it impossible to actually get to the shoot to drop trash into the receptacle. Maintenance could easily pick up the trash at the compactor on the weekends when there's no trash pick up, but instead it goes untouched until the trash service comes in on Sunday night to begin collection. The breezeways inside each building (except for the clubhouse) have only been cleaned once in the past two years. There's all sorts of dried trash juice trailing down the hallways from when it gets picked up nightly. An easy solution would be to mop the hallways once a month, and wipe down the spider webs. The gym itself has some very nice amenities, but like everything else maintenance does not keep up on cleaning the gym, and the gym wipe station goes weeks between refills. The machines are caked with dust and sweat because no one cleans and wipes are never available. A few residents bring in their children (ages 5 or less) who run around and disrupt other residents who are trying to work out. A few times a small child was riding their scooter scooters inside the gym. The parent that's working out does nothing to correct their children's behavior from disrupting other residents. Another resident brings her dog into the gym, and then allows the dog to lay on the gym mats that other people would use to work out. Of course, she never wipes down the mats afterwards as the wipes are never available. It's totally understandable that the site management has no control over how trashy the residents act. I appreciate they have sent out several notices, reinforcing proper trash hygiene, however, the issue has not subsided. They could counteract that with increased effort to maintain cleanliness on the property, but that has yet to be seen. We've experienced 3 Service tickets for items in disrepair inside the apartment, and they all took multiple submissions before the issue was resolved. Even then, the quality of the work to repair the issues was of poor craftsmanship, and rarely indemnified to defect to its original state. The pipes aggressively vibrate anytime we use hot water, and every time we get a note that "unit was reset". At this point we've given up and hope a neighbor will complain about the noise so maybe the apartment will actually fix it. Most of the stairways still have light receptacles that stopped working during the ice storm two years ago that have yet to be repaired. In summation, it seems like maintenance and property management just don't care anymore. A lot of friends I've made the past 4 years have been leaving for other properties, not because of rent prices, but due to decline of the property.

There are always dog treats in the common area, and I appreciate that we have a large dog "spa" onsite - if you're a dog owner you know what a mess it is to try to bathe your dog in your bathroom. Katie, our new property manager has been great. Since she arrived, she has kicked off a series of complex updates, upgrades, and general property maintenance - new furniture, new paint, new flooring/carpet in the common areas; new fitness equipment in the onsite gym, and today I noticed boxes containing new patio/pool furniture. Barae Dula, her second-in-command, is friendly and helpful and has gone the extra mile more than once to help locate misplaced packages or find things I've lost onsite. I appreciate that they both make themselves available to us - even just to chat. Our maintenance staff, Julian, Ever, and Chris, are friendly, professional, and efficient. When I've put in a maintenance request, it is handled usually within 1- 3 hours. Everyone on staff is friendly, which contributes to a positive vibe, here. And of course, the location is awesome - close to Ladybird Lake, Alamo Drafthouse, coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. It's not cheap to live here, but then, where is cheap to live anywhere in Austin, Texas? Thanks, y'all!

There are so many other options and better maintained buildings in the area. Keep looking! Starting with the exterior, you'll pay for parking in a gated garage with a gate door thats worked maybe collectively a few months in the past 3+years. Parts for the broken gate? They are shipped from a country which apparently only exists in the future. Expect to be waiting months for the parts to be delivered from their imaginary manufacturing plant. There are constant break-ins, two car thefts in the past two months, damaged vehicles, stollen packages, and various unhoused individuals sleeping in stairwells or meandering around the lobby at night. I once had an unhoused individual confront me in the gym at night, when I asked him to leave he stated he just "needed to gather his things from the gym cabinets" because he was living in the building at night. AT NIGHT!! The lack of concern for resident safety is unfathomable. If you're a female or younger individual, think about your safety!! There are not been many instances when all elevators were working at the same time. Elevators are down for weeks to months. Again parts come from the same futuristic country as the gate parts. At one point in December of 2024 ALL elevators were down for approximately a week. My poor Mom was visiting and had to climb/descend 4 flights of stairs everyday multiple times a day. I've been waiting for months for them to provide me with the video of a hit and run on my vehicle they claimed to have. Don't stay tuned for an update there, I don't expect them to follow through. Want to enjoy the pool on a hot day? It's probably green. Inside you'll find outdated apartments, refrigerators and walls filled with mold and garbage piling out of the trash chute rooms on each floor. Maintenance or construction of some sort is on going at all times. What are they doing you ask? Sometimes I have no idea, but you will find evidence of food and soda bottles left behind in the hallways. They decided to spray paint (yes spray paint) the doors and frames/hallway trim black. The fumes were so bad many including myself had to block the bottom of their doors. They wrapped our hallway firearms to to prevent the fire alarm from continuing go off from the fumes as well (see photos). Headaches, black spray paint dropping from the air vents on to my white couch. Just some of the many luxuries you'll experience at the building. Speaking of fire alarms, pretty common to be jarred out of bed at 2AM, 3AM with the fire alarm going off from a sensor error at the building. They will claim someone pulled the alarm, the fire department confirmed differently. Working from home?? Intra meeting surprise! Fire alarm going off, internet down. Walls are so thin you'll hear every step your upstairs neighbor takes. If you've made it this far and you value your mental and physical health just keep looking. The positive review? Incentives from the leasing office to waive application fees for unknowing and innocent souls. Current management under Lindy and Jennifer + the ever rotating group of office individuals have created an unbearable place to live. Good luck going into the office with a question or request.
