Went there to see a friend and his band perform and the vibe is EXCELLENT. It was a beautiful night at the right temp. We can sit anywhere that is open. They had varying tables but also (3) gas fire pit tables which came in handy as the night wore on as it got a bit chilly. Riley our waitress was extremely nice and friendly. Other staff members would also help out bringing food. The food was pretty good. We had a pizza and a chicken wrap. Both very good. NOW...I've been to restaurants around the world but this is the first one I've been that doesn't have the prices listed on the food menu. Whether a hard copy or scan the QR code...don't know what you're paying. Makes no sense. read more

The upgrades they've made look really good, and I like that there is a food menu now. (As opposed to just food trucks). We sat on the upstairs patio, which was beautiful and the band playing was great, The Gamut. Unfortunately, the only negative was the waitress, Deni. She was predominantly the only one up there, outside of a few food runners. Perhaps it was just being understaffed & overwhelmed, but there were no apologies. She rarely checked in, and she was not very friendly. For some reason I received my food at least 45 minutes after the four other people I was with. I had to ask her for it, again, no acknowledgment or apology. I asked her about the meal being comped and she laughed and made a funny face. At one point, she came to get drink orders and only asked two people before she disappeared. The rest of us ended up walking to the bar to get our drinks. The past two times we went to the Monkey Bar them seem to be out of a lot of beers. A couple weeks ago when I ordered three different drafts they were out. The sever showed me on her hand held computer and they were out of about 1/4 of the drafts they had listed. Today when we went the 1st beer I ordered they were out. They did have the second draft. Wife ordered a Chardonnay and they came back 5 mins later and said they did not have enough for a glass. They offered a Pinot Grigio and my wife accepted. We order our food and before it came we asked for another around of drinks. A couple mins later waitress comes back and said they were out of the Pinot. They only had one glass, and they offered it for her after they said they were out of Chardonnay? Waitress then showed what they had for wine and they were out of four other types of wine, no whites. I don't know how you run out of wine! Our food came, I ordered a double smash burger came out as a single and waitress could not tell if it was a double or single. She had to take it back to kitchen to tell if it was double and it was a single. Wife got a wrap that came with chips and it looked like the chips were from the bottom of the bag all crumbled. The wrap was good but chips were pathetic My smash burger was ok but most of it was bread and lettuce. Service was slow because only one bar was open, outside. We were sitting in the upper area that over looks the patio. The waitress has to come up to us to wait on us then go down stairs to the bar outside. Management seems to not care. For the prices they charge you would think the have it together but this seems to be pattern for them lately. read more

The atmosphere here is great! Awesome spot to stop if you're out on the bike trail and need a drink or bike to eat or if you want to enjoy the scenery and grab lunch or dinner. However, the service and speed is an issue. I've waited 2 visits before leaving a review and they just can't seem to get over the hump. The staff is super nice, but they are not overly attentive. They continually forget drinks/refills, etc. The kitchen doesn't seem to run with a sense or urgency or don't really care (possibly understaffed). The menu is a nice size with something for everyone, drink selection is good. The prices are a little on the high side but you're paying for a great spot and the scenery, so it's worth it. The staff and management need to focus on speed and attentiveness. They need to prepare for busy days and prioritize their level of service. If they can get that together, this place will continue to be a gem and take themselves to the next level. read more

Scenic views, lots of great seating options. Fire pits in the summer. Music always playing. This place has a lot of vibes if you just want to be outside with a beer. The food is basic but good - great hot dogs and surprisingly good pizza - but $15 is a lot for a personal sized pizza. "Grille" is a generous term for it. There's usually an additional food truck too though so that's nice. I've never been impressed with the staff - they always act like they can't be bothered. All in all - if you want a place outside for beer go here. If you want more full service I'd recommend elsewhere. read more

Great food and ambiance it's on a lake gorgeous layout of the restaurant it's kind of like a maze inside levels with huge outdoor seating with lake backdrop. I have tried their pizza, pretzel and hotdog all are a solid 8/10. Mixed drinks are pretty weak I have tried them tw But the service is beyond pathetic so so slow-no one comes to follow up you need to chase the servers which I absolutely hate. The management should really focus on their service aspect. It's a service restaurant where they expect tips but don't give any service they slam the food and drinks and leave and never return. read more

The atmosphere in the river is awesome and the bar has live bands on the weekend, however the drinks are over priced and the service was horrible! We enjoyed it in the past and went 2x a week however after how we were treated last week, I would not recommend this place to anyone! The drinks are listed on a billboard however when they ring up your tab, the drinks are more. When asked why the bartender said she guessed the prices raised however no one makes any attempt to correct this. My daughter and I arrived and there were only a few other tables with people being served. The entire time the waitresses made eye contact with us but not once come over to our table. I even tried to wave them over, they saw me, and continued to ignore us however they did wait on the other tables around us! We always tip well and couldn't believe how rude this was! We finally left! I wrote a detailed letter to the owners about how poorly we were treated and not once did I receive a call or email! Obviously the owners do NOT care! FYI, poor management and bad customer service is NEVER acceptable!!! My suggestion, do not waste your time or money! Honestly, this is the first time I've ever experienced uncomfortability regarding service at a restaurant. We moved 1 table which the sever said was okay at first and then 30min into us being there we get yelled at by another server to put it back when we were in the middle of eating our food. Once we moved all our food and crammed 9 people onto two tables we get yelled at again by the same rude waitress saying that we have to put shirts on. We had been kayaking all day and they offer a kayak entrance so it was very frustrating at this point because we had been there for an hour and now getting yelled at for this. I've been there before with other people just wearing swimsuit tops and shorts. I felt very uncomfortable at this point and just paid my tab and left. I will not be coming back again. read more

Wine is hot. When I brought it up to the server she sent the "manager" who questioned that. It was hot. The bill came at the end of the visit and we had food and drinks that we didn't order. We told the server who sent another "manager" that questioned that and did someone else at our table maybe order it? No, we had no food at this table. They finally brought a revised bill. Okay I only provided 4 stars for a couple reasons. First how do you call yourself a grill when you only have food trucks in the parking lot for food, don't get me wrong, the burger was pretty good as well as the fries. But still. Second, I am. It a huge fan of spending $7 for a 16 ounce cup of beer. Again this is a me thing. With the above said the view is very good, the bike trail is literally right next to the parking lot. Will I come back, yes I probably will if I am near by or riding the bike trail. I just had the two minor complaints. My wife and I have been coming here for years and always had great service until this Spring. The decline is dramatic and pushing us to other options. Food (if they have it that day) can take an hour or more. Servers, when not standing around talking amongst themselves, wander aimlessly without apparent sections to cover. Hit or miss if you can flag them. I'm in the food service industry and understand the challenges of hiring and keeping staff. Something is very off here this year. The staff was rude. When asking questions, they looked at us like we were dumb because they didn't have half the menu options that were listed. They wouldn't let us sit together, they made us put back the table we pulled over, and told us to leave while we were still waiting on our food. I understand we were not allowed to move a table, so we did move it back, but then when cooperating, they were rude and told us to leave, vs just explaining why and being respectful. I will say, you will be hard pressed to find a more scenic bar and "grill" in the area. It is super convenient to Kings Island and Great Wolf Lodge. That said, wasn't really impressed with much else. Kind of a missed opportunity with the menu as it is super limited, and extremely basic. I would put it as an elevated kids meal menu. Ordered a drink assuming it was something other than it was . I told the server I actually wanted another beverage. 12$ drinks. She did deliver the others beverage. We go every weekend.! I received the check and was charged for both beverages and my husbands. When I asked why we were charged for the beverage that wasn't what I wanted. Her response was you ordered it you pay for it . Being in industry for many years I felt it was unfair. My husband talked with the manager on duty and basically said once the drink is made it's your obligation to pay for it. This bar and grille has been refurbished and re-established as of late. If you have not seen the new renovations, check it out! They have a large patio that sits next to the river. They also have a covered area on the ground floor. You can also dine in, which sits a little above the ground floor, so you get a great view of the river. This spot also houses a huge parking lot that is frequented for Bike Trail usage. I am assuming the intention of this large parking lot is to encourage people to enjoy some time on the bike trail then come get a drink or hang out at the bar and grill. It is quite welcoming! They often have food trucks in their parking lot, so it is a great place to hang out for a snack after working out on the bike trail. There are also restrooms across the trail and next to the restaurant. It is just a perfect spot to enjoy the trail, some snacks, and rest a bit before continuing on your journey. I love that this bar and grill is located a little bit past the Loveland businesses, as it gives another large parking place to frequent for the bike trail. Sometimes the Loveland area gets pretty crowded, so it's nice to have this option about 4 miles down the trail. Since this bar and Grill is right on the river, I have heard talk that the goal is to make this spot on the river a convenient place to pull off of the river. I have seen some canoes and kayaks pull to the side for a break--and what better place then one that has food and drink! It may be difficult to get your kayak off to the side, but there is a small place below the bar and grill that is near the river, that you are able to climb up to get to the restaurant. Check it out!
