Takeout Only at the time of my visit due to staffing... I almost drove by as it is located in an essentially strip mall, and the parking lot was empty. But the tacos (limited menu) were FANTASTIC!!! Flank steak for the win! I have had plenty from Southern Cal, AZ, NM, and Mexico's Baja itself. These easily rated 5 stars on their own merits. The place was a little stark (again, takeout only) with the stacks of chairs in the dining area. However, the owners were the staff and as friendly as any customer service-oriented people that I have met. I was only "passing through" and I do not know if I will be here again. Corn tortillas, some kind of crumbly white cheese- and just the perfect amount of mild (green) salsa... the flavors- I could only eat one of the 3 tacos- plenty for leftovers! This was my first time ordering from Chilango and I was definitely impressed! The ingredients/food were super fresh and the price point very fair. I had the taco box mixed and there was SO much meat in each one... flank steak, mahi mahi and chicken. All were very flavorful and the elotes was equally as delicious! They are only doing takeout/pickup currently, no dine in...so by the time I got the food home (6.5 miles away) the shells were a bit soggy and the food temp was barely warm but thats not on the restaurant, nothing they can do about that. Hopefully they can open their dining room again at some point bc I will definitely be a regular! read more

I've driven by Chilango many times while on my way to go do something and every time I say to myself, "self, you really need to check it out sometime". It has so many good reviews. Well, as fate would have it, my daughter's car broke down in their parking lot, so I finally got to try it. I had already eaten lunch, but I wasn't going to let a little thing, like not being hungry, stop me from giving it a try. I had the Cochinita Pibil Taco with corn tortilla. It was excellent. So on top of the great taco, I was talking with the owner. He was very friendly and we had a nice conversation while I was waiting for the tow truck. They don't really advertise and have been around for 8 years now, all from walk-in and world of mouth customers. They have a nice patio and a small but adequate inside dining area. I'm going to go back soon with my wife. I highly recommend Chilango. read more

Tonight was especially fast since we grabbed a bite early. My usual is the pork belly and the flank steak. If you only get one, pork belly is the bomb! It started out great with a tasty margarita and Spicy White Queso Dip. The only complaint I have is that I found their entrees to be to spicy. They have one vegetarian taco option, the Poblano Rajas con Crema, with queso fundido with roasted poblano peppers & onions in cream, queso fresco, fresh cilantro, and crema. I thought poblanos weren't supposed to be that spicy! My husband had the Papa con Poblano Empanada, with potato, roasted poblano peppers and chihuahua cheese. We happened to be passing by on the expressway and were looking for something unique, but something that the kids would eat. I would call this restaurant "fast casual" in that we ordered at the counter, then sat down and waited for our food. When we walked in, the menu was on a board to the left and the cashier station was directly in front of us. It seemed everyone there was very busy, but also friendly at the same time. We felt very welcomed and accommodated. When they thought they might be out of a particular menu item, one of the employees checked it out for me, came back and told me they could make it after all. That minute detail made so much of a difference for me. You can tell this place is family owned and I believe the owner(s) were working that night. It felt "corporate" in how tight and professional everything was run, but "mom and pop" in the way they interacted with customers and even each other behind the counter. I'd call it a fun and friendly atmosphere. Our favorite partt of the dining experience was the salsa bar: trying multiple different salsas with the delicious chips we were served. They ranged from sweet to very spicy. Yikes, I wished there was a warning on that one! Between the four of us, we had fish tacos, Papa con Poblano Empanada, and cheese quesadillas. It hit the spot! The side of queso dip was a bit thicker than we're used to, but other than that, we were pleased with everything we had. If I was local, I could see this as a great place to stop in with or without my family, to grab some tacos and a craft beer (decent selection!). When I'm in Mason again (King's Island, Great Wolf Lodge, etc.), I would highly consider going here for a quick dinner. read more

This place wasn't bad. It's kind of cold Chipotle like environment. I was here catching up with girlfriend I haven't seen in awhile. The environment certainly makes it hard for private conversation. This is one of the better fast casual Mexican places in Cincinnati. Similar to Mazunte and Tahona's, it's a fast casual atmosphere where you go to the counter, order, and you take a number and they deliver it to you. I had three tacos here (pork belly, chorizo and steak) which are comparable in price to other places in Cincinnati. The size of the tacos are just right. I don't agree with "it's not worth the price for the size" or saying it's pricey when it's comparable to other very popular places similar to this one. Their margarita was delicious as well. I also bought a chips and salsa for my table (my friend and I) and the chips were fresh and you go up to the counter and they replenish it for you (similar to the way Mazunte and Tahona does theirs). Their salsas at the bar are one of the best. Their avocado salsa was delicious! This is definitely a place I'd keep going back to. read more

We tried this while staying at Great Wolf Lodge, and were very impressed! We had steak and pork belly tacos, chicken quesadillas, queso with chorizo, and everything was delicious! There is no microwave or freezer in the restaurant! The flavorful menu is on the blackboard, they have a salsa bar, indoor and outdoor seating, Mexican music playing, and a very welcoming atmosphere. Now the food, my oh my, it was all good. The prices vary, Empanadas $4; Flautas $7.75; Enchiladas $9.75; and Tacos $7.90-$10. My husband and I each had a 3 taco combo ($9.50). He had: Braised Beef, Flank Steak, Poblando Ratas, I had: Chicken Tinga and 2 Mahi Mahi fish tacos. We shared all the tacos and every taco was yummo delicious! The tacos here are made on corn tortillas and the ingredients and salsas are very fresh . Most items are gluten free. Awesome homemade salsa bar with several choices. Try the jalepeño margarita if you enjoy a drink with a spicy kick. Great selection of Mexican beers too. Staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. This fast casual restaurant is a breath of fresh air to the Northern Cincy suburbs! It is locally owned and operated by someone who was born in Mexico and has a passion to make food the right way! No freezer exists in this kitchen. Everything but the adobe peppers and condensed milk is fresh or made from scratch. Neat to hear that the owner even makes the cheese! I walked in to a bright, open space. There is a large menu on the wall to choose from, and the flavor combinations available are unique. There is a bar to sit at, as well as a dining room with tables, and a huge outdoor patio. I decided to go with the Empanadas, because I truly love them, and you don't see them available many places! They come individually as either Braised beef or Papa con poblano. I got one of each, which came with a side of regular and green chile salsa, and a bed of lettuce. I went with the Horchata to drink. Upon first bite of my meal, you could tell the crust was homemade. The beef was flavorful and tender. The cheese in the other was to die for! My drink was creamy, yet light and refreshing. Loved the salsas. Everthing was so good I considered ordering more, but really my meal portion was quite filling. Also on the menu are a nice selection of tacos, flautas, and a few sides. There are Margaritas, mexican soda, and a few other beverages. Don't necessarily rely on the pics of the menu posted on Yelp, as it can vary from time to time.
