The not: - No A/C (but it's Seattle, so what would be the point?) - Shower that's either hot or cold, but nothing in between - Toilet that requires some TLC under the hood every time you flush to make it stop running - No free parking (but they validate for $12/day nearby) Don't get me wrong - I'd totally stay here again. But only if I were on a serious budget (i.e. -not- on business). On vacation, The Moore's a completely acceptable crash pad in the heart of downtown Seattle. This was definitely not my best hotel experience. No one was at the front desk when I arrived, so I had to wait to get buzzed in. The bathroom sink pipes leaked whenever I used the faucet. There was no bathtub drain, so I had to use the rubber bathmat in order to use it. My room was very hot despite having a fan running and the window open as far as it would go. The building is super old, so my door was banging around within its frame from the air current coming in. I had to prop my bag up against the door to keep it from making noise all night while I tried to sleep. Definitely don't plan on staying here again. read more

It rocks! Yes, this hotel rocks for location, convenience and parking! PARKING in DT Seattle for 50% ($15 a day). They give you a voucher to get the 50% discount on parking. This place is pretty much a no-brainer in terms of staying in Seattle DT, close to all the tourist traps and any DT shopping. Granted this is an older hotel that has been fully renovated, it's comfortable and clean. Cleaner than the dive of a hotel that I stayed in when I was in San Francisco earlier this year. I knew what I was getting into so I'm not complaining. Anyhooooo.....yeah, this place rocks. WIFI is a bit spotty in some areas, but it works. There's a claustrophobic elevator that gets you to and fro from the floors. I got bumped up from a double queen to a suite room, and they charged only for the queen room. The suite room is double the size of a double queen room. Woot! Plus the staff are friendly and very helpful for any questions. What is there not to love??? Seriously. BTW, it's inexpensive. Didn't do the communal bathroom thing. If you want that, it's even cheaper. Need any more reasons not to stay? =P read more

Last night we seen Blue October at the Moore and this was my first time there. Although a bit dated it is a good venue, the acoustics was great as it was nice and loud without being deafening the seats were comfortably but we stood most of the night cause you know the cascading effect, one person 20 rows down stand up and half the audience had to do the same to see the bloody show. Over all I really don't have anything negative to say, it's a classy theater in the heart of Seattle and a nice alternative to the Showbox read more

It was a hotel. Wouldn't recommend for longer than a 2 night stay. It is very close to Pikes Place and a decently easy walk to the Needle. The rooms were so simple they were kind of scary. Not updated or modernized in any way. They locks on the doors aren't secure. The bathroom standing shower was tiny. The carpets are old and dirty. The sirens and echos are loud. The walls are thin. The elevator is tiny. There is no ac, the fan however did the job. The staff were okay, some friendlier than others. Overall, a night or two max. Would recommend a cleaner more updated hotel for longer stay. read more

Terrible experience. First room had a broken toilet, no coffee in the room, no fridge, radiator was either scolding hot or ice cold with no ability to regulate. Friends that were staying with us were kicked out for bringing a clogged, shared toilet to the attention of the staff and were threatened with police presence if they failed to vacate quickly, the front desk was unwilling to coorperate and find a solution all while being beyond rude. (Your building has old plumbing!) Wouldve rather taken my business elsewhere for the amount of money we spent at this establishment. read more

We had a jack and jill style room with our friends on our trip. The Moore Hotel provided a great price point and was close to Pike Place Market and all the downtown Seattle events. Find a better hotel. The two people at the front desk were very nice and gave us a coupon for parking. However, once we got to the room we first noticed how dirty and small the room and bathroom were. The bathroom was falling apart staring at the tiles. There was an extreme lack of amenities for the price paid. The TV is small, the fan does hardly anything (no AC as well). I also noticed a bullet hole in the window... not cool. This hotel is close to Pike Place, however so are many others. Without the window open it is extremely hot, but with it open the entire room will reek from the outside. read more

Nice staff. Tiny elevator. Noisy crowds leaving the theater next door late at night. Off a one way street, hard for taxis etc. to serve. Barebones furnishings. Very affordable. BUT the deciding factor in why I will never return is BEDBUGS! While lying in bed during my two night stay I vaguely felt something. Wish now I pulled the bedding apart. After checking out I discovered extensive bites on my chest. So far looks like none of them hitched a ride with me. Thank god. Never again! UPDATE. Enjoyed our one night stay before a cruise. Close to restaurants and shops as well as Pikes Market. Rooms were clean and bed was comfy, a little disappointed the attached restaurant was closed and the attached coffee shop didn't open until 8:30 am especially coming from Pacific time zones but other places by were available. No air conditioning, but we knew that. The box fan they provided did its job but you wont get a good nights sleep because the noise it made. The windows barely open 5 inches to let in any fresh air. Some travel sites adertise a restaurant on property but it was closed down. The coffee shop off the lobby was ok. For an old hotel it was very clean, as were the rooms. However, there arent enough outlets and the the USB port in our lamp didnt work. The had a table but only one rickety chair. No bathroom ammenities to brag about. Mismatched shampoo & conditioner and 2 little squares of soap. Bath towels enough for one person, had to ask every day for more so both of us could take a shower. Speaking of the shower, the water pressure in almost nil. The big PLUS was the most comfortable bed & pillows! Walking distance to some good bars & restaurants and Pike Place. Shuttle to cruise ship terminal provided at a minimum cost. All in all, The Moore Hotel was an ok place to stay for a night or two. Don't recommend any longer of a stay. read more

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. We stayed here twice for one night each, both times in a suite. On one hand it's ancient, and not in the best way. There's only one elevator for a seven storey hotel and it's puny. You can fit four people max with luggage. The windows let in all the noise - and there's a lot of it. We stayed on a Sunday night and you can still hear cars zooming around on the sixth floor. There's a mild musty smell that's strongest in the closets. The bathroom was pretty old style with a bit of rust everywhere. Finally, someone had left a pair of pants under a chair in the room! I guess that means housecleaning doesn't vacuum under the chairs? However, I'm still giving them a four because of price, staff, and location. The price is already pretty good given it's excellent location. Upon arrival, the staff actually suggested we switch from two separate rooms to a suite to save some dollars. The location outweighs everything. For me, it was walking distance to the Space Needle centre, Pike Place market, the Seattle Great Wheel, and West Lake light rail station (which gives you access to Chinatown, do not go because there's nothing to see, and the airport). Since we spent most of our time exploring Seattle I was willing to overlook everything I said in the previous paragraph. read more

For the type of vacations I take to Seattle, Moore fits right in. The location is perfect if I have a show at Moore Theater. Also perfect if I want to hang around Pike Place Market. The price is right. Overall it is quiet. Unless there is some type of show happening next door at Moore Theater. And just like most hotels, they provide bathroom necessities. My only draw back is the internet isn't stable. And even the internet from my phone isn't stable if you're up in your room. It's convenient to have a restaurant and coffee place down in the lobby. I haven't experienced any problems yet, that I have read on here. My stay has been enjoyable every time. read more

Is this a 5-star hotel? No. Is this a 5-star hotel on Yelp when considering the price, location and service? Yes. This place was a total no-brainer and I will most definitely be back. For the sweet price of $112 (tax included) we spent a night on a recent road trip but a stone's throw from all of our favourite Seatown haunts. The location just cannot be beat. And the price was 1/2, if not 1/3 the rates of every other place we had looked at in the area. Amazepants. And after another recent Seatown excursion, I was dreading the cost of parking. My last trip down, it cost almost $60 a night to park my car at the hotel. When the lovely gent at the front desk informed me an overnight in the parkade across the street would cost me a whopping $16 with our hotel discount, I almost jumped over the counter to hug him. Which I would have anyhow, as the service here is so ridiculously pleasant. The gent manning the desk when we arrived was hilarious and an expert banterer. I do love my banter. He explained everything quick as a whistle and we were off! The rooms are BASIC. And I mean... basic. But for $100 we nabbed two good size beds, a floor high enough that we couldn't hear the adjoining theatre, a decent sized bathroom, hot shower and above ALL else - FREE WIFI! You know wifi charges at hotels are getting bad when you literally heel click in celebration when it's no charge. The hotel itself is charming, in a historically shabby-chic sort of way. From the terrifying but beautiful marble encased stairways, to the death-trap looking elevator, the proper key entry and the leopard print carpeted hallways with velvet curtains... this place had pretty much won my 5 stars before we even GOT to the room. It's like my spirit animal hotel - theatre attached, near good scotch, power clashing anything with leopard print and slightly off kilter but in a sort of charming way. The charm that exudes from The Moore Hotel should be underscored and highlighted. However, one's expectations regarding a hotel experience will ultimately determine whether or not this is "your kind" of hotel... Absent are the modern day comforts of air conditioning and the electronic card keys. Yes you are given an actual key and you must open the windows if you find it too warm in your room. There is audible street noise, next door room noise, and even hallway noise. Personally I loved the place. It felt as if I had an apartment in downtown Seattle for the four days I stood there. I loved the long dark wood hallways. I enjoyed my sometimes sober and sometimes less than sober rides up and down the old creaky elevator. My room was spacious and even had a walk-in closet. Often times I cracked open the window and just watched the city traffic move to and fro. The hotel seemed close enough (walking distance) to everything that I intended on visiting and if not... the nearest bus stop was only a couple blocks away. I have stayed at the W, The Warwick, El Gaucho, and the Holiday Inn... but I will forever only stay at the Moore Hotel whenever I go to Seattle. I recently stayed here for two nights in August, my fifth time at the hotel over the past two years, and it fails to disappoint. For the price and location, this is the best value in Seattle, period. The building is historic and no two rooms are the same. I've stayed in their basic rooms with two queen beds. I've stayed in the cheapest room where it's merely one bed without a bathroom (but a public shower/bathroom is down the hall). I've also stayed in the magnificent suites which have a full kitchen (with dishes!), dining room, living room with flat screen TV (and sometimes a fireplace), a master bedroom, sometimes a secondary bedroom (with 2-3 beds!), and one or two bathrooms (one with a clawfoot bathtub!) These suites ' room numbers end in "24" and are typically located in the northern-most corner of the hotel at the end of the hall. From hostel living to Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous... you can get it all at the Moore. Despite being downtown, the location is relatively quiet and I've always had a good night sleep. You're in Belltown - stumbling distance to some fantastic bars, restaurants and cafes. Pike Place Market and downtown shopping is just blocks away, and Seattle Center can easily be walked to as well. There is a cafe downstairs (the Moore Cafe) for coffee, and there is a dive bar (the Nightlite) downstairs next door for a late night drink... you never know who you'll see there. (Broken Social Scene, was that really you?) While there's no parking at the hotel itself, street parking can be had in the nearby blocks (and is free after 8pm and on Sundays). There's also a parking garage which the friendly staff will direct you to (5 right hand turns from the hotel and take a left!) If you're looking for the ultimate luxury getaway, this is not your hotel. If you need swimming pools, gyms, reliable WIFI, Starbucks coffee in your suite - this is not your hotel. But if you're looking for somewhere unique to stay in the heart of Seattle - somewhere with character which is easy on the wallet, once you stay at the Moore, you'll never stay anywhere else ever again. read more

Let me start with the bad: lack of towel animals in my room. After reading Yelp reviews, i was seriously looking forward to a handcrafted towel dog or swan or turkey to greet me as I dropped my bags. Much to my dismay there were only rectangle folded towels and a couple rolled hand towels. So my husband snuck in the bathroom while I wasnt paying attention and made me some swans (see attached). Good guy husband. Now for the good: literally everything else. I am on site while i type this. I called this morning at 9 and first spoke with Tracy to get instructions on nearby parking. She was super nice, very informative and helpful. Upon arrival we met Tracy in person and she allowed us to check in to a newly cleaned room, #421. It was a lovely contemporary 2 queen room with a clawfoot tub. We loved the room but decided we would like to upgrade to a suite with a fridge to store some snacks we bought at Pike Place. Tracy found a room #730 and stowed our luggage until the room was ready. We decided to wander Seattle until the new room was clean. When we returned, we met the afternoon desk staff - I believe his name is Robert. He is full of helpful advice and we witnessed him take the time to make personalized suggestions to several guests. This guy could teach a course on customer service or write an insider tourism guide or something. Never having visited Seattle before, we did a good amount of research - still nothing touched some of the advice i heard in 5 minutes from Robert (seriously hope thats his name, attractive blonde fellow that greets everyone with a "yo"). I recommend this hotel highly. Very lovely staff, unique rooms and a price that blows everwhere else outta the nearby water! Also nearby public transit and everything else. read more

Historic hotel in the heart of Downtown Seattle with Pike Place and the Waterfront all within walking distance, say what?! I was a bit hesitant to book a room here because the Yelp reviews were quite bipolar. Let me start by saying this, if you are looking for a Westin feel on a Motel 8 budget keep it moving. Also there is wireless in some rooms, 3rd floor and below will get the signal and I was aware of that at check in. I opted for the 7th floor room with a view instead and I'm glad I did. Reminding you that this is a "vintage" hotel, the elevator was as big as a Lego brick. It probably didn't help that I packed my entire wardrobe either. Elevator = singular, I didn't see another one, nor did I care to go on a hunt for another one. No electronic key cards here, no Siree Bob. Gasp, I have an actual key! I was in Room 712 (where the players dwell) a Euro style room (communal showers and bathrooms) with a small sink and a superb view of the Puget Sound. The TV was small, but I didn't travel all the way from California to watch TV so it didn't bother me. It was clean and the closet was spacious, big enough to fit my cargo. It is safe to say that the "nicer" rooms are the suites and the ones with the en suite bathroom, because my room was nice, but not that nice. For $64 bones +tax, I say it's a steal! The staff was always courteous and helpful. When I was looking for certain spots, they were happy to Google them for me. This is a green hotel so don't expect central air heating/cooling. You get a fan in your room and that's it. There's no hair dryer and I would suggest bringing all of your toiletries with you. FYI: The bathrooms were always clean and I never had to wait for one. It's best (in any metro area) to walk in groups after dark. I ventured out by myself but it probably helped that I have the Latina scowl and smart people generally don't want to test you. The downside is that I almost stabbed a hobo with my nail file for asking me for money. He was pretty damn aggressive too. Reviewing the Moore Hotel is a little bit tricky.... I would give it 3 and a half stars, but there are no halves in Yelpville, so 4 stars it is. 3 would be too low. For the price, you cannot beat this classic hotel (Downtown SEA is very very pricey). The service here by all employees was top notch, A+. The location is also amazing. These three things carry much of the weight of this review. Seattle is extremely expensive when staying "downtown". That is saying much, seeing I come from Hawai'i whose prices are even cheaper than this. I booked directly from their website. I ended up renting a car (which is actually not very convenient if you are staying downtown, and are sticking within the area) which sat in off-site parking for over 2 days. Parking is decent at $15 a day, and is around the corner from the hotel (about a 4 min walk). The hotel itself is old. It first opened in 1907 and the adjacent and famous Moore theater is still open. The rooms have of course had some refurbishing, but there are still some classic elements to the hotel. The elevator is small, not the fastest, but it works fine. The rooms do not have heaters or air conditioners, but have the old school pipe running from the ceiling to the floor. The pipe is heated at night, "from 9pm throughout the night" per the front desk. You cannot control the temperature of the room. Inside the closet was a plug in fan, I did not ever use it. The room was kind of cold at night, so we did get an extra blanket from the front desk. Someone in a previous review grumbled about having a real key as opposed to an electronic card key. SMH, that is just silly to gripe about. The bathroom has an old school clawfoot bathtub. The first time I ran the water, it was brown for a few seconds. This is common with old rusty pipes though, it wasn't an issue anytime after that. Just wanted to state it so people don't freak out if they see it. The rooms and rest of the hotel are very clean throughout. The lobby has a computer you can use and some sofas you can lounge in. Connected to the lobby is the Moore coffee shop. Reviews are off the charts about this place, and yes, it is very very good. You will definitely not want to miss this spot. One of the greatest things about the Moore is its location. You are less than two blocks away from Pike Place and directly two blocks up from Steinbrueck Park. You are also a block or two away from the hip Bell Town area. Perfect location to walk in either direction. If you can get over the fact the hotel is old, and some of the things that come with aging buildings, you will have zero issues at the Moore. When considering all the great attributes it has, this is a no brainer why the ratings are so high. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. read more

We hung out in the lobby while she was working the registration desk and we struck up a conversation with her. She played music for us in the lobby and made suggestions on nearby places for us to visit. She made our stay more enjoyable. Ohhh, The Moore Hotel. First of all, in winter, these rooms are NOT baby proof. They have the old-style heaters that (in our room) consisted of a radiator-type heater and a floor-to-ceiling pole. My toddler accidentally touched the hot pole and wasn't happy about it. It was definitely hot, not just warm. However, if you have older kids who can understand not to touch, everything will be ok. Also, we did not go out after dark, as things got sketchy, (which is confirmed by the seattle.gov Downtown crime statistics for Murder, Rape, Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Burglary, Theft and Auto-Theft). Check the stats out, if you're concerned. But, a little caution and looking like you know what you're doing when you're out & about will get you a long way. The street in front of the hotel, where you'll do most of your walking feels fairly safe, though. Those are really my only "disclaimers" about The Moore. We arrived around 10am and our room was (understandably) not ready so they offered to store our largest backpack & stroller in their locking closet, which we took them up on, as we were on-foot. We walked down to the market and took an initial tour around. After that, we went in search of some food for our little guy and landed back at the Moore's lobby. My son was cranky and ready for a nap, but we were still treated well by the lady at the front desk, who got us into our room promptly at their 2pm check-in time. Our room (which we requested at our online reservation) was suite 728. It has a kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, 2 top electric stove & sink with dish washing soap. There is a small selection of pots, pans & cooking accessories, in addition to place settings for 3. There is a dining area spacious enough for a full-sized round table and 4 chairs. All-in-all, it's not cramped and is a comfortable space. The closets were HUGE and the lighting was great, compared to other hotels we've stayed in. Light switches actually turned on lights bright enough to be able to see around the room. There were also 5 large windows in suite 728, which were also able to be opened. Although, I don't recommend you do, unless it's necessary for cooler air, as there are some crazies below in the alley who make a lot of noise. For the record, this alley is at the back side of the hotel and not near the entrance, which was crazy-free. The bedroom had a queen sized bed and a twin, a flat panel tv, was clean and, again, had great lighting. As far as the bathroom goes, it was large, modernly-styled and clean. You can't really ask for more. The hotel has great character complete with wooden doors & real keys. It's obviously been remodeled and updated recently, but it has maintained it's original charm. We spent $130 a night for a prime location downtown, with easy access to light rail, the monorail, Pike Place Market & the piers. The Moore simply can't be beat for the value and the quality of their rooms. I'd stay here again, if I were to come back to Seattle. read more

Not gonna lie.. I was little scared after walking around Pike and just glancing up the road at the Moore Theatre sign. I figured the place would be more on the decrepit side (I know I know.. don't judge a book by its cover).. but it actually turned out pretty well. Slash.. the theatre is attached but the hotel looks much nicer. The lobby staff don't have uniforms or anything so people hanging out kind of look like they might be employees. haha.. There are two computers in the sitting area for use.. but I was able to pick up on some random wireless networks in my room and downstairs with my iTouch. The elevator isn't as creepy as people have said.. although.. I've lived through some creepy elevators. There's also a distinct smell.. not bad necessarily.. but yeah.. lived in. heh The rooms felt like I was in a dorm.. or sleeping in PS 121.. err even.. a glorified hostel. Our neighbors were musicians and young couples (no sign of children.. although with the atmosphere, if I saw any, I'd be creeped out). The bathroom is teeny and the seat is REALLY close to the wall. The shower stall is definitely of the dorm variety with limited room/space to put your toiletries. And the sink has definitely seen better days. Although, I did enjoy the elephant towel (see pix). :) The beds were pretty comfy but nothing to rave about. As far as "additions" to the room.. there was no clock (which totally threw me off), or hair dryer (although I saw someone returning one when I checked in) or ironing board. The fan was of the CVS/Rite Aid mini variety and the TV channels were basic. The mini fridge was passable. But for $90 (and two beds).. it's a steal considering its location (minus the loud overflow of the bars during some times of the night.. but we slept right through it). Super close to that Nordstrom outlet (thank heavens) and Pike.. not to mention downtown/Westlake Shopping Center, etc. It's about 20 minutes (on a good walk) from the Seattle Center.. the staff definitely told my friend 15 though.. so be warned. And there's usually only one old school non-flashy key per room which can kinda be a drag. OH and don't fall out of the window. There are no screens. And speaking of screens, don't forget to close your blinds while changing.. there are offices across the street. :) Also, put the don't disturb sign on your door or else the housekeeper might just walk right in. Why 4 stars? Because this hotel was cheap and convenient! --- --- --- This starts a very long string of reviews from my summer vacation last year. LONG overdue. When I research a hotel, these are the qualities I look for (in order): 1) Cheapness 2) Is it at least decent quality (not roach-infested) ? 3) Convenience The Moore Hotel is perfect for like-minded travelers to myself. It's by far the cheapest hotel in the area, it's in a cool area, and it's far from dirty. It's old, sure. But it has character and charm. Who really cares how nice your room is when you're on vacation? You should only be in your room to grab a few hours of sleep at night, and then be on your way. My only negative was that there was no A/C. This is very bizarre to three people coming from Florida. You can open a window and it's a bit better, but it's still somewhat stale in the room. This was at the end of July, so if you are looking at the Moore during another time of year, you'll be especially golden. All this being said, I'd stay at the Moore every time when visiting Seattle. read more

Great hotel at an excellent location. Since we visited Seattle on Memorial Day Weekend, other hotels were overpriced. I found The Moore Hotel via Yelp and I was surprised at how affordable it was - such a great price on a holiday weekend! I ended up paying $104 per night (about $120 with taxes and fees) and we had a private bathroom in our room (some will require shared bathrooms). The hotel is located about 2 blocks from Pike Place where you would want to go if you are visiting Seattle. It is also just 1 block away from Serious Pie (best Pizza ever!), a 10-12min walk from the Space Needle and Chihuly, and a few blocks from the Light Rail which can take you to the airport for a mere $3! You can basically walk everywhere! The hotel has a very old and classic feeling to it. No fancy electronic cards to enter the hotel or room - you get a key. Service was excellent too! If you need hair dryers and other items you can ask at the front desk. They also have a pretty good Coffee Shop. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a great value hotel. read more

Location. Location. Location! I'm so glad that I found this place off Yelp because it was the perfect location with an even better price tag as well. To stay there Sat-Monday 2 nights was about $100 bucks a night including tax. They only accept Visa and Mastercard. Its a mom and pop run place and a lot of things need improvement but you can tell that they are on their way to improving it. I did not rent a car because my friend and I were doing all the touristy stuff and we were able to walk to Pike's Fish Market (2 blocks down), Space Needle (about a mile), Seattle Aquarium (about half a mile), and close to Westlake Light Rail station that you can use to take from airport for less than 3 bucks (4 blocks.) What I liked about the place other than location and how cheap it was: - Free wifi in the lobby - Comfortable/nice lobby with clean bathrooms - Super friendly receptionist Robert - Lots of towels in the room - Kept the rooms really warm (but how do you change the temperature..?) - Clean beds and sheets - Nice hot showers - Free storage of luggage Things that were quirky that did not bother but were worth mentioning - Old school with having an actual key for your room vs an electronic key - Flimsy shower curtain for your standup shower - Had a lamp in the room where the extension cord did not reach the plug so it was not usable - How could you adjust temperature of heat in room? - The mirror in the bathroom was really high that my friend and I could not see our faces.. yes we're short but c'mon! I'm 5'5'' - No hair dryer in room but you could request for one at front desk Anyways I was really glad I picked this place- had a great experience and location and price could not be beat! read more

I was looking for a hotel that's close to Pike Place. I booked my room a month before my visit so the only rooms available were the "European style" where you have to share a bathroom with other people in your hall. I've been to Europe and didn't have a room this style so I'm not sure why the Moore calls it "European style". The building is old (built in the 1900's). The shared bathroom didn't have soap in the dispenser for you to wash your hands after using the loo. My room on the 7th floor (highest floor) was spacious but my door was kooky. The key can open my room but you can't lock it. So, my entire stay I was hoping that nobody would steal my stuff in the room while I was out. There's an old TV, a bed with a floral duvet and towels shaped like an animal (like on cruise ships) and a sink. A word of caution: let the water run for about a minute before brushing your teeth. I filled a cup to brush my teeth with and the water was yellow. Yuck! All I was waiting to happen was for bed bugs to bite me. I was able to get free wi-fi in my room and the front desk agent was surprised that I did. The front desk agents lacked personality. The only front desk agent who had personality worked the graveyard shift when I checked out at 4am. The location, however, was excellent. There are bars, restaurants, Walgreens, shopping area and Target nearby. I walked to Pike Place everyday, Seattle Museum, Pioneer Square, Seattle Center, the Space Needle, Experience Music Project Museum and Chihuly Garden and Glass. Good food were within walking distance as well: Serious Pie, Dahlia Bakery, Shiro's Sushi, Le Pichet, Le Panier and Piroshky Piroshky. read more

I'm a little hesitant to post this because then everyone will come flocking to this place and I'll never be able to get a room. This place is seriously a hidden gem. The price is not cheap but well it is, I'd rather use another word like inexpensive. Made reservation 2 weeks before, they had these available: 1. Suite: Queen bed, sitting area, kitchenette, private bath for $130 + tax & fees = $150/night 2. Regular room: Queen bed with shared bathroom for up to 10 people for $80 + tax & fees = $92.48/night I went with the Suite, and BOY was I happy to get the suite!!! Kitchen had 2 burners, fridge, microwave, and cupboards with bowls, plates, and utensils! (though we never used it, it was cool!) And the sitting area had a big comfy couch and a small round dining table with 2 chairs - awesome! The bedroom had a nice queen bed, small flat screen tv, nice long tv stand, and huge area surrounding it, and the private bath had an old fashioned tub with nice warm water for the shower. The suite was biggg, I liked it a lot! Also, great location! Just 2 blocks down from pike place, victor steinbrueck park, and the pink door (where we had a lovely dinner!) The only thing I didn't like how there was NO kleenex... and I was dying from my allergies/cold!! Moore Hotel, please invest in some of these!! Other than that... the suite was SCHWEET! :) read more

I used to live in Seattle, but if I'm here for a quick visit and none of my friends are around to host me, this is where I stay. LOCATION: It's ultra convenient to hop the bus from the airport and be deposited just a block or two away from the hotel. The hotel price is quite reasonable, considering you are less than a five minute walk from Pike Place Market and the free bus zone. Any other hotel in the same area would probably be double the price. ROOMS: I always pay a little more to have a private bathroom. You can choose the European style (shared), but I'm not that poor that I can't afford a few extra bucks for the privacy. Do NOT come expecting anything modern in the rooms. Some rooms are large, some are smaller, all of them creak and moan and have a ton of character. read more

This place was great! I booked it because I needed a cheaper option the last couple days of my Seattle trip. It's in a great location (when I Google mapped it, it said it was on the corner of 2nd & Cedar, but it's actually on the corner of 2nd & Virginia - which is like steps away from Pike's Place Market), and it is super affordable! If you don't mind sharing a shower, book the European style room. My room still had a bathroom with a working sink & toilet - the only thing it didn't have was a working shower. But, the one down the hallway from my room was super nice and clean and it didn't feel like it was a shared space at all. The only downside to this hotel is it seems it's located right next to a shelter of some sort - lots of homeless right outside the hotel, but I never felt unsafe as a girl by myself. Also, it can be quite loud sometimes, the walls are thin and there's an alley right behind the hotel that can be loud if you have a room by it. ALSO, there's no internet in the rooms, but I think I got lucky to be situated in an area where I was able to use the wireless of some guy named Howard. Must have been in another building or something. Anyway - long story short, I really enjoyed my stay here. Just be prepared to get what you pay for, and you'll be just as happy as I was. read more

Great little no frills hotel in downtown. Spacious, clean rooms and they beat the prices of other places in the hood by a long shot! Comfortable beds. Staff was friendly too although one worker recommended McDonald's to grab a cup of coffee. Really dude? I'm not going to effing McDonald's in the coffee capital of the US!! The one complaint is about the shower. The water was either freezing b@lls or scalding hot! Gives the term wake and bake a whole new meaning. The water was a nice temperature for a few minutes then got a mind of its own while I was crouching in the corner avoiding its scalding droplets like an inmate attempting to escape getting bent over in the prison shower! Anyways, I saved at least few hundred bucks so it was worth it. read more
