The place just reopened and it looks great. The service and staff are awesome. That being said I still only give the new place 3 stars because of the food. The menu is pretentious and overpriced. This is a bar and grill with literal shrimp boats docked outside and they serve farm raised, frozen cocktail shrimp. The BLT has bacon bits on it. Bacon bits. The ceviche is not ceviche. It's that garbage boiled shrimp with spring mix and Pico. The food is truly awful. Go there for the drinks and the scenery but eat first. They don't even have a decent appetizer. read more

So very disappointed!! Thought we would give this place a try since it's newly reopened for a sunset dinner. We ordered a couple drinks, and ice waters with lemon all around,along with 3 dinners. Beer was only slightly cold and we were presented with warm water bottles and cups of ice. After about an hour of waiting with no explanation, my husband finally inquired about our food order. We were then told there was "one guy" upstairs cooking and there was no estimate of when we might be served. We promptly asked to cancel our food order and get the bill for the drinks. To our surprise, we were charged for the bottles of water, even though there was no mention of that on the menu or by our server when we ordered water. We went to Seaside on 1/14 to see a band we follow. This place was a few steps above a dive bar - not necessarily a bad thing. Drinks were cheap, waitress was nice. Food was disgusting and cold. I'd go back to have adult beverages but not to eat anything. Ordered 2 hot dogs and fries. Dogs we're barely warm, did have some grill marks on them but not more than barely warm. Asked for mustard and was given packets of various condiments, one of the mayo packets was open! yuk! Hubby got a cheesesteak-dripping with grease - totally inedible. Friend got a wrap - blah.... fries were soggy and not crisp. Chips with salsa and queso was not bad, but the salsa had a weird after taste.... a friend had chicken nachos - she liked them. it was a very chilly night. Would not eat here again. I should have known when they give you tarter sauce with scallops. They sautéed the hell out of them and must have used a stick of butter to do it. The service is friendly and the view is pretty sweet. The food is not something I would not come back for. The crab cake tasted very bread like and the friends looked to be cooked twice and were greasy. The coleslaw was cabbage and mayo no carrots or anything to add some flavor. My wife and I came in tonight and after the first two little glass drinks that tasted more like water than drinks we decided to make them doubles and got charged exactly double on the drinks and for two of us was $170+ with two apps , fried pickles and jalapeño poppers. The worst part is I should've been puking after being charged that much but I barely had a buzz!!! Nice people and bar tenders but way over charged !! We've been going there on multiple Tuesdays and Thursdays over the past couple of months, to treat our friends and out-of-town relatives to Frankie's Raw Bar. Many of our friends claim it's a diamond in the rough and a great place to eat and have fun. So, we try to experience their joy. But,... Each, and every, time we've been there, we've gotten sick. Within about 2 to 4 hours, both of our stomachs start to growl, and we must attach ourselves to a nearby ceramic bowl for a painful, lengthy stay. At first, I though it was bad food, so we tried various different fare hoping to find something our systems could tolerate. We kept going back looking for an improvement, but no luck. The Raw Bar food is very good, especially the Fish Cakes, and they claim to have just-caught seafood - which I must admit, looks just-caught. The normal fare from the restaurant didn't impress us much (no seasoning of any kind), but we did like the Maryland Style crabs - heavy seasoning. On our last visit, while eating our meal, everyone in our group noticed Frankie slurping his dinner from the cooking utensils - while cooking for other guests. That turned us off quite quickly. Hmmm... When the proprietor eats from the frying pan, what else is going on? Needless to say that we finally decided not to return for another go, and go, and go.... For the bad reviews all I can say is if a place is real busy (and this place can get packed when bands play) dont expect your food to come in 15 minutes. If you order fried foods, they are greasy. The owners of these establishments should put their heads together to improve the parking situation to make it more inviting to visit their restaurants. So much room for improvement. My wife rented the upstairs for my 50th birthday, we had a great party! The food was amazing, they put out an awesome spread of shrimp, chicken wings, fish and chips, sandwiches, and more! The staff is superior, everyone was really friendly, and all of our guest were very impressed! I had the best 50th birthday party! Spent most of the night out on the upstairs deck, what a nice veiw of the waterway and the surrounding club's! Never have I been treated so poorly for trying to pay my tab and leave the "establishment." It was 1:55 they were asking people to pay tabs and leave. No problem. However when a busser called me out directly saying, "Hey guy with the beard at the bar, get out." When I've been waiting at the bar for a couple minutes waiting for the servers to come over and actual cash me out, I do have a problem. Then when I express my distaste for the comment I get the response, "so you have a problem with us kicking people out at two? Well too bad that's the law." Very simple w only a few side items and apps. We got cold fries and no garlic butter shrimp that we ordered. Also no croutons on the sd Caesar i ordered. I asked Keith about croutons...if i could please have some or even crackers as a sub. He looked at me as if i was stupid. But said sure.... We told him about the fries being could after waiting so long and the shrimp he so obviously forgot. (My moms main meal) she opted to cancel the order because she didn't want to have to wait another hour for them an apparently he told her he couldn't give an estimate of how long it might be... No ESTIMATE NEEDED...JUST TO KNOW HE WOULD DO HIS BEST WOULD HAVE SUFFICED. ESPECIALLY SINCE WE STILL HAD SEVERAL DISHES MISSING. Needless to say. The rest came out about ten min. Later. Calamari that cost 15 dollars was burnt to a crisp. My salad w no croutons became soggy and gross .... We all sat in obvious disappointment . We just ate there, 5/18/12. This place advertises the wonderful view of the water with 2 outside decks overlooking the water. The problem is... they are both smoking. The deck is covered, so even though it is "outside" you will have to eat with people blowing smoke on you. The waiter said nonsmokers can eat inside. Well no one was inside, because its nasty and greasy in there, and thats where the kitchen is, so its hotter inside than outside and outdated, greasy and disgusting. And there were no doors to seperate the outside from the inside so the smoke just keeps pouring in. Servers were overwhelmed and short tempered. Food was greasy. This place is for smokers only and the owners Don and Chrissie Johnson should have made 1 of the 2 decks outside non-smoking, but they don't care, and neither does the wait staff. I brought my 2 children and couldn't finish my meal there and they never offered us any comp, so we paid and left. Do you want your children subjected to cigarette smoke while eating? We felt sick in our stomach when we got home which leads us to believe they probably do not change the oil in the fryer much, or their food handing is just plain unsanitary. read more

I ordered a 1/2 lb of peel and eat shrimp as an appetizer and the seafood platter for the entree and 28 minutes later, I get both sitting in front of me at the same time....mistake number 3. When I said something about getting both at the same time, she said the waitress didn't tell her it was an appetizer and left both sitting there....mistake number 4. At this point I am starving as I had not had anything to eat today, so I start out with the shrimp, thinking how can you screw up peel and eat shrimp....mistake number 5....overcooked....ugh. Ok, they cannot screw up fried items...........can they? All you do is dip them in batter and put them in a basket.....mistake number 6....nothing had any flavor to it, just breading....bland...like the salt and pepper was an evil thing I guess. When I called the waitress over to my table, I explained my issues to her and her response was...and I quote "Well, I guess I will just take them back and you have a great day!"....mistake number 7. It was the first and LAST time I will ever go back there.
