So....not what I expected. This was my first time here so I was excited to try a new spot. The first thing that I noticed was the parking situation. Parking is free, however, it is first come first serve parallel street parking. I did not have a hard time finding a spot near the restaurant since I arrived 45 minutes till closing. The second thing I did not expect was to order and pay at the counter. I expected that we would be greeted and seated, have a chance to look over the menu and place our orders with the wait staff. The third thing I did not expect was that there would be a shortage of tables as I counted about 10-12. We were able to find one table available that sat 2 people. Good thing there was only two of us or we would have to eat in the car. So, as we sat down to wait for our order to arrive, I noticed the table had not been cleaned so I broke out my hand sanitizer and squirted some on the table and wiped it down with a napkin. Downtown Alpharetta is changing in many ways. The Nest Cafe is a new eatery situated under several stories of luxury apartments. We went with family on a recent weekend and ate outside on the street side patio. No wait staff here - you get in line and order at the counter. They bring your order to you. Yelp offered a free coffee which I gladly accepted. The food was okay but with a very limited menu. Let me qualify that. I'm a comfort food eater - big portions of tasty eats. So flavor and quality wise, Nest's fare is okay but is more health oriented and with smaller portions. If that's for you, you'll love Nest. read more

It's counter service so you order there then take the number and they bring your food. Apparently it's short order cooking because our food came out extremely quick. This kind of alarmed me because I was prepared to wait longer. We started with a basket of beignets. As a Louisiana native, I was skeptical but they were pretty good. They are dough balls rather than squares but the flavor was pretty good. I ordered a short stack of pancakes and sausage. It also came with tater tots. The food was just ok. Not extremely hot, mostly warm but it was a decent flavor. BFF ordered toast, bacon and an omelette with fresh fruit. She'd mentioned it was just ok. The tables were a little bit too close for comfort but for those who like a more intimate feel, it just might be perfect. read more

All but one of the indoor tables were taken on this chilly Friday in February and I managed to grab the last one. There are sidewalk tables available for warmer weather. With a full crowd all the hard surfaces made for a noisy environment, but not painfully loud. Service was friendly and fast. I ordered a bacon, egg, & cheese croissant and for the side I chose the tater tots. For my drink I had the almond milk Georgia peach smoothie. The croissant was flaky and buttery but the bacon was sad and limp and I would forgo it next time as barely cooked bacon fails to add either flavor or texture. The nearly two dozen tots were perfectly cooked and nicely flavored, and were the star performers of the meal. Not being a smoothie regular, I found the drink lacking in sweetness, but a couple of packets of Stevia fixed that. read more

Happy to have found another breakfast spot in Alpharetta. Nest Cafe is a cute shop that serves delicious food. It has plenty of seating outside and inside. I been there on a Saturday and Sunday around 10 am and always found an empty table. You order at the counter, they give you a number and will bring the food you. The staff is friendly but I have noticed that it is more a self serve restaurant than a traditional one. So don't expect the staff to check on you on a regular basis. I have ordered: - Beignets- fried just right and the chocolate dipping sauce was a nice touch - Honey french toast- huge portion and perfectly toasted - Croissant smoke salmon sandwich- buttery croissant and overall a nice sandwich When it comes to parking, there are some street parking but there is also a lot on the back. Cute little place for brunch. The only issue is you have to go inside to order and there is 1 cash register. The process is incredibly slow because the cashier is also making specialty drinks. So even if you're just picking up a coffee, you must wait in the long line with everyone else. They should have a dedicated coffee/drinks only cash register. read more

(The only improvement could maybe be going to a French baguette for robustness.) Service not great, I asked if they had refills for coffee if I dine in...yes. So I leave a tip for service at counter. I ask a server for more coffee please....server seemed bothered...refilled coffee but didn't bring cream of sugar, so I got it myself. (Creamer container empty)I have no problem refilling my own coffee but these establishments shouldn't expects tips and not offer proper service. I paid a 4 dollar tip to get my own coffee. Food ok if service was better I would have considered giving this place another chance. Owner, your employee was rude. That's why I won't come back. Your snarky remark is classless. Implying a customer is lazy because you have sugar and cream (which was empty fyi), is available, you clearly missed the point. I asked your barista if they have table service, they said yes. Please do yourselves a favor and get the California Croissant! It is SO satisfying. Love that it comes with fruit as the default, the sandwich is obviously on the heavier side so I don't feel so bad when I have the fruit with it. I keep saying I will try something else when I visit again, but I keep going back for the California Croissant - crisp bacon, fresh produce, buttery croissant - it's so perfect. The beignets are on the denser side, but they are ready tasty. Love them with the raspberry sauce. Had a bite of my husband's harvest panini which was tasty. I love sweet and salty so it was really nice. I, of course, couldn't bring myself not to order the Cali croissant. We have probably visited 4 times in 2.5 weeks. The Nest Cafe is always a good choice. Everything we have tried has been good. The girls at the front are always super sweet and helpful. Yes a coffee place I can sit and have meetings. Perfect. Had the best hot basic latte and a California breakfast Sand-which. Didn't test the WIFI, but I am sure they have it and works fine. I also noticed they do drive by. So you can call ahead and they will run the coffee out to you. The staff is also happy. I will be back. read more

Came to this little joint because of all of the beautiful pictures of lattes that I had seen on yelp.... but when they came out with my latte the girl had split it all in the dish and completely ruined it.... Only frustrated because we came out of our way to get really pretty coffees but should have just gone to Starbucks. The nest was nice. We were there for lunch about an hour before they closed. It was nice, food was good. Not sure I would go there again if I were in the area. Wanted to give a shout-out to the breakfast manager this morning who was incredibly generous and kind. I came in to meet some family for breakfast and had to bring my new puppy with me. I walked in and was politely told how cute he was but that I needed to sit outside. The manager then personally wiped off a table for us outside, turned on a propane heater and made sure we were extraordinarily comfortable. He then went even further to give me a Nest Cafe sweatshirt when I offered my girlfriend my jacket due to the weather. When I went to return the sweatshirt when we were on our way he told me to keep it as a holiday gift. Made my day, my girlfriends day and my puppy's day, thank you! Stopped by before the Alpharetta farmers market on a Saturday with a friend! I got the egg, cheese & bacon breakfast sandwich on a croissant, beignets, and the cinnamon honey latte with almond milk. The sandwich came with fresh fruit and was so delicious. It was made to order and came out quick and hot! I loved that the sandwich had lots of crispy bacon in it, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The beignets were okay, it came with different options for sauce to dip so I chose Nutella. It was very heavy, doughy and it wasn't for me. The latte was great as well, and I'm glad Nest Cafe had non-dairy options! It wasn't overly sugary sweet which was just what I wanted. I also came back to get the Tree of Life smoothie for my boyfriend and stole a taste. It was sooo good! Very healthy and full of fruits/vegetables. This is definitely a very nice spot for brunch and for coffee or smoothie options! I plan on coming back a lot more when I move up here! read more
