The Nest is a new restaurant replacing the legendary Pietro's that was a favorite to many. We all knew that they had "a tough act to follow!" I'm embarrassed to say, my husband and I have eaten there for four consecutive nights anxious to try out the new menu. Even before the food, I'd like to say a word about the staff. Christine, their amazing and creative chef's wife, is a most gracious hostess, excited about the creative plans and fare they have in store for their customers. Also, many of the Pietro's staff are still there which makes it even better for those of us who have been enjoying this restaurant for years. Now, THE FOOD. It is upscale and sophisticated along with being delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. We've had a great time sampling their new menu. I can highly recommend the lump crab cocktail (served in a martini glass). When I commented on how fresh it was, I was told that the chef NEVER uses frozen food. Only fresh is admissible in his kitchen! YAY! I also tried the Grilled Oysters with Crab appetizer. Also fresh, healthy and delicious. We tried the Tuna Medallions with a Blueberry Glaze. It sounded so different I didn't know what to expect but once I tried it I began to see that this chef is truly a creative artist. Delicious! My main course tonight was the Caramelized Scallops Appetizer. I'm always nervous about scallops as they're a bit "iffy". Depending upon type and harvesting. These were the best! Highly recommend. The Nest.... Brand new to the area and although pictures can say a thousand words, these pictures do not come close to the amazing quality and taste of this food. The service was impeccable. The freshly baked bread to start, appetizers and dinner to the desert were made to perfection. The cocktails were a highlight addition to the overall experience and the Natasha Expresso Martini was the best we have ever had. Mother's Day pre fixe menu. Three appetizers, house salad, three mains, three desserts for options. $75 pp. Great Expectations on special day. Dining room bare of any special decor. Waiter pleasant. Two shrimp was my shrimp cocktail. TWO. My partner had two mushrooms, the others had blue crab martini served on flat dish. Where's the martini? Prime rib was bone dry, the end cut usually has herbs, spices. Nope nada. Other two diners had hugely different portion sizes. You'd think you'd try to make them look equal. Barely any Au jus. Rolls were reheated frozen type. Standard foil butters. No garnish on plates. No flowers on table. Nothing special for Mothers Day- a big day in restaurants. Key lime pie wasn't a pie at all, but a sheet pan version, as was the raspberry cake. Cafeteria type portions and style. Not at all what I'd expect from a high end restaurant still trying to lure patrons in as a new establishment. My review- too little for too much, too expensive for what was served. Too little thought put into the prep, sides choices, meager salad. Nothing said to me " oh this is really special". You can do better Nest- or you won't last. Please when you say pie- make one. But two shrimp?? I can't seem to unsee that pitiful appetizer. read more

Service at high tops was so so, had to get our own water from the bar...food was delicious but very noisy dining room. They hired, then ran off one of the most amazing people in the restaurant industry here on the Treasure Coast, Christine Ames. She and her husband, David who is the chef, make a great team. Started at the comfortable bar for a happy hour drink before being seated for dinner. We have enjoyed items on the Bar Menu on prior visits. Chose two appetizers which easily met expectations; burrata and the collosal shrimp cocktail. Dinners were outstanding in both flavor and presentation; black grouper and the tender boneless short ribs with gnocchi! We topped the evening with expresso, cappuccino and coconut cake dessert. The final bill was very reasonable under $200 , including the glasses of wines. We have been going to this venue ( previouly Fairwinds, Pietros and now the Nest) regularly since the early 90s . Mothers Day rip-off!! $75 price fixed, limited menu. They did not let you know this when booking a reservation. They just are interested in taking your money. 5 of us in total shock at the price and limited choices. It was a We could not leave at 5Pm and go to another restaurant. gotcha! Salad was tasteless and worst them a Publix sheet cake. One of our friends at another table was not happy with their cool (net even warm) prime rib. They are only in it for fleecing its patrons. Where is the pride in serving customers with good food at reasonable prices? Shame on them. Live here all year, but will never go back. Too many other good choices. read more

The food was good, not outstanding but good. Around here good is a 5 star review. Service was a 10. Jenna our waitress was fantastic. The ambiance is ok... no better or worse than most in the area. One complaint. I hate the BS add-on fees. If you want to appreciate your kitchen help then pay them. Don't tack on a 3% appreciation fee. As a rule, I deduct BS charges from my tip but because Jenna was so good I could not punish her. Nest needs to charge fair prices that the market will accept and pay your help what they deserve. My wife and I haven't been here since the new owners took over and renamed it The Nest. We met a couple we know that live across the street that asked us to meet them there to see what we thought. The Nest is beautiful inside! Upscale. Definitely a place to bring a date. Mine was my wife. The bar has a new modern look with a very nice vibe. It can be a little loud in there, but that didn't bother me. We a got a special drink off the list and then ordered a nice bottle of Red Wine. We ordered the Short Rib dinner and split it. The dinner was exceptional. Keith out bartender/waiter did a fantastic job from beginning to end. He was very attentive. We look forward to coming back soon and trying more menu items. read more

Was a big fan of CrisDAnnas, BUT would definitely not recommend the nest. Waiter only appears at the beginning at the end kitchen staff does the rest and there's an added tip on the bottom for kitchen staff. We had to ask for rolls, and when they brought them they were three rolls and four of us. Steak was served without a knife. Had to ask for that. It was just one thing after the other. The food is a little strange and not really that good. Somethings I recognize on their old menu, but other things were just definitely not up to par and the service certainly did not want the prices they were four of us we've all agreed we won't be going back. read more

We were there on a quiet night. Maybe 6- 8 people at the bar. There were 3 bartenders, and we had to wait for drinks, and waive them down. The food was not good. I had scallops that were over cooked and risottothat was mushy, the other order was French onion chicken that was dry. Of the 3 bartenders none of them came over to check on us. We held our wedding and reception at the Nest on 11-26-24 and everything was absolutely beautiful. Our guests had nothing but rave reviews for the gorgeous location, the delicious food and the very friendly and accommodating staff. Janeen was a joy to work with while planned our wedding and went out of her way to accommodate the couple of special requests we had and to make sure that our day had the casual but elegant vibe we were going for. My husband and I have been to" The Nest"several times since they opened over eight times I must say. With Reservations at a table or sitting at the bar for happy hour or at lunch on the weekends and I have to say we have never had a bad experience ever. The food is excellent the service has been excellent everyone has been friendly and yes I did have the escargot as that is one of my favorite dishes and it was quite good unlike what another reviewer said, nothing bad to say about anything we have ever had there. So don't let the two or three bad reviews deter you from going, experience it for yourself please do. I'm not friends with anyone there, we just go to enjoy the ambience, the food, the view and the wonderful staff that are always very friendly to us. I do not like reading bad reviews from people who are so quick to judge a new restaurant, geez give the place a chance before you judge, just go, experience it for yourself, it has so far been a very good experience for us. If I remember correctly, several names stand out in our mind over our time there, Brandon I think he is the bartender, Natasha, Nicole and Janeen. Mary and Norbi, have been our waiters. The restaurant was always a solid choice when it was Pietros. Unfortunately, things change. The meal was barely adequate to support a $100+ price tag per person. Very disappointed. The (2) shrimp cocktail and crab appetizers in a martini glass that was actually served on a flat plate were tasteless and appeared to have been previously frozen. The prime rib was dreadful (dry and less than 1/3 inch thick) and terribly flavorless. The best plate was the dessert. Cake and ice cream. The chocolate mousse was what you get in the cafeteria. Looking below at other responses, I do see another chef is coming per a review response and we may try the restaurant again, but $225.00 for this catastrophe was so hard to chew for a person celebrating Mother's Day who only makes $13.00 per hour. read more

The Nest is finding its groove! Unchanged are the great staff, many of whom have been at the previous Pietro's on the River for years. What's new is the chef, Richard Drousche, the menu and the owners, Janeen and Bill MacLean, all dedicated to ensuring an unparalleled dining experience. There is a prix fixe menu for $49 consisting of salad, entree and dessert. Two of us had the frutti di mare, able to accommodate with gluten free pasta, with huge shrimp and diced clam in a light tomato cream sauce. One of us had the 5 oz filet mignon, tender and with julienne vegetables, and boursin mashed potatoes, very tasty! We passed around the coconut cake, bread pudding and fudge brownie a la mode for a sweet ending. There is a new cocktail menu but wine was in our minds. The wine list is small but well chosen. Another great dish is the blackened snapper with cheese grits and Tasso ham gravy. The bottom line is that the owners, chef and staff will bend over backward to deliver a great meal in a chic but understated ambience with a great sunset view. read more

Turns out Mother's Day at the Nest was not a good idea. They had a price fix menu with limited choices at the exorbitant price of $75 per person! We did not know about this special menu even thought I called to add another member to our party and spoke to staff. That makes me feel Iike I was taken advantage of. I have eaten there before and the food was good so I did not expect to be so disappointed. The appetizer had 2 stuffed mushrooms, the salad was flat, the prime rib portion was a generous size however all the food was barely warm. A dab of mashed potatoes and "3" asparagus completed the meal...I had to request the horseradish and that had no zip either. Dessert was a raspberry creme cake, a tiny square with a 'slice' of strawberry on the side. We each had 2 glasses of wine and our bill was close to $300 with tax & tip for two of us. Outrageous! Needless to say this was not what we expected from this previously enjoyable restaurant. read more
