First time at this location. The previous location on Alondra was much smaller & we always had to wait a long time to be seated. This location is much larger & airy. They sat us right away & the host was very friendly & helpful. The waitress was prompt but got my order wrong but no apologies. The food was good & my friend & I enjoyed our food, sides & the atmosphere thoroughly. There's plenty of street parking so no need to park in the lot next to the restaurant and pay. We will be back as the food is as good as it was at the other location & this location is much bigger with a nice ambiance. read more

After Sunday worship my family of foodies and I were on the hunt for a local brunch spot. I'd heard of the nest but hadn't made it priority visit, well I should have and I'm sorry. The nest is an above average brunch spot with traditional brunch items. That's pressure. You either knock it out of the park ( Go! Dodgers) or you get benched! I found parking easily which is always a good thing but I can see how it may be challenging at peak hours. Our party was seated with a few minutes of our arrival which was nice. There was definitely the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant with small roar of patrons but in a good way. Once we were seated I scanned the menu and immediately spotted the chilaquiles. One thing I like about the menu is that every dish was served with one small plate from the menu. Anyone who knows me knows I'll make bacon disappear like a magician so when I saw the bacon waffle pieces I had to fight every urge to look at the menu further. I fought the temptation and landed on the biscuit and gravy. I then ordered the horchata coffee because why not. I'm not a real coffee drinker so please don't look for a descriptions about the body or any other characteristics . All I know is ... it was good ! Be careful but the size is a shareable large . So food comes out nice and hot - my nose and eyes approved ..... now for the taste.... Perfect marriage of spices with a combination of texture in the most appealing way. I added a little hot sauce just to spice it up a bit but the flavor was there for sure. The biscuit was ok, not bad but I'm not sure about a re-ordering. It was a little dense for my liking but the gravy had plenty of flavor. I would revisit because I love to support small businesses, we saw what looked like the owner meeting and greeting guests which really added to the overall vibe. read more

I had my hair cut by Jenni Deeble, they also provided little snacks and a drink, not to forget about the hot towel treatment and mini facial. This is one of the few times I get to relax and get pampered. Then I feel great with a fresh new cut. Sometimes I leave it to Jenni D to design my hair style as I like to change things up. It's so nice to have a stylist like her. Hint: plan your cut around lunch time to take advantage of all the cool spots like congregation and beach wood that are walking distance. read more

I just moved to Long Beach and finally had the chance to go to a real salon and OMG I am so happy Yelp led me here!! My appointment was with Jenni Tamayo and she is amazing. She took my lifeless, dyed black hair and lightened the ends to ombre. She gave me a super cute cut that works well with my wavy hair and she did all this SO fast. Jenni is very sweet and genuine and we talked the whole time. Plus there's wine, beer, and snacks! The salon is also very clean and cute, and I found metered parking right outside. My hair turned out exactly how I pictured it and I'm very pumped. I usually end up fixing my cut after I get home and trusting no stylist ever, but I'll definitely be coming back here!! It's so incredibly difficult to have an awesome men's haircut, and I've always said one of the most important relationship a man can have is the one with his barber/hair stylist and his dentist. Both go horribly wrong when you meet the wrong person, and mistakes leaves less than ideal scenarios! I'm lucky to have Jenni Deeble be the fantastic hair stylist who keeps my hair groomed and kempt! I tend to like to try new cuts or make tweaks, and she indulges me and goes for it with precision and technical skills. It's been two plus years having started with Jenni D when she previously was at Flaunt Salon (and found through a Yelp review nonetheless). I have been contemplating about getting the Brazilian blowout for the longest time...and I finally got it done by Jenni Deeble this month. Before the Brazilian blowout, my hair is thick, medium length, and wavy in some spots and I would just put it up in a ponytail and go. This working mom of 2, just doesn't have the time in the morning to curl or flat iron anymore. But After the blowout, OMG! What a world of difference! It takes 1/2 the time to dry after my nightly shampoo, dries straight (no frizzy or poofy lion hair), and in the morning I can just go as-is or quickly curl my ends for some style. My hair looks smooth, soft, frizz-free, and has a radiant shine to it. To top it off, my first experience with Jenni was so amazing and relaxing at the salon that I could definitely do this again and totally recommend Jenni Deeble and this treatment to anyone. read more
