I was told that my son was being "targeted." That alone should alarm anyone considering this place. The issues start with management. Multiple teachers told me that the director gossips about staff, creates a toxic environment, and spoke poorly about me to other employees--also warning them to treat my child differently because we monitored the cameras. That is unacceptable behavior from someone in charge of children. There is also clear favoritism. Certain staff members are allowed to operate without accountability, while others--and certain children--are treated very differently. I personally witnessed a teacher aggressively handling my child during nap time on camera. Although that teacher was fired, the facility refused to provide the video footage when requested, especially after I made it clear I was considering going to the police. That refusal is extremely suspicious. Staffing is another major issue. I was told directly by teachers that they are overworked, unsupported, and often left in ratios close to one teacher for 14+ children, with "float" staff who do little to help. That alone creates an unsafe environment. One teacher, referred to as "T," already has a negative Yelp review--and my experience matched it. She took my child out of camera view without my knowledge, and when I raised concerns, they were dismissed. Later, she told me directly that she "will be taking my child to get water if she wants" and made it clear she did not care about my boundaries, even stating she "knows my child better than other teachers." I had never even had a proper conversation with her. At the same time, I was dealing with behavioral concerns with my 2-year-old, which we are actively addressing with professionals. I was told an additional teacher would be assigned to support him--that never happened. The plan was ignored, another incident occurred, and I was called to pick him up early, only to be told they were "short staffed." I was also informed that other children displaying the same behavior were not handled or documented the same way, particularly one child connected to a staff member. That is blatant inconsistency and favoritism. Meanwhile, the director told staff members I was "dramatic" and that I was "freaking out over nothing," despite raising concerns about my child being physically mishandled, left in a soiled diaper long enough to cause severe rash, and forcibly grabbed by his shirt to sit down. These are not minor concerns--they are serious. I made repeated efforts to work with this facility, but it became clear that addressing the issues was not the priority. Since leaving this facility, my child has shown significant improvement and has been in much better spirits, which leads me to believe this specific daycare environment was negatively affecting his emotional well-being. I am relieved to be done with this place, but I am deeply concerned for any child still in their care. Please think carefully before trusting this facility with your child.

He is super happy now and I can't wait to see just how much he develops in the future. They have art, music, recess, story time and free play. (I have always loved Kindercare and even attended as a child and have had many family members who worked for the company. All in all, a great place for kind) Since my son has been attending this location we have immediately seen the difference in his social skills, cognition ability and overall attitude, as well as the level of care he is receiving. The director, Ms. Crystal is GREAT. Not only is she super responsive, but she also made our family feel comfortable immediately. I am able to get an almost immediate responses whenever I message with a question and she even follows up via phone call. Our family also loves Ms. Ashley, the assistant director. She is super friendly and has great rapport with both kiddos and parents.I literally feel so comfortable knowing my son is under their management. One thing that I really like about this location is how clean it is, especially during Covid. At our last daycare, my son was constantly sick and would often have dry snot on his face at pick up. This has NEVER HAPPENED at KinderCare Spring Branch. In fact, every time we pick him up hes clean, and smells as good (if not better) than when he arrived. Being a new mom I was worried about leaving my baby in a new spot, especially since you are not able to enter due to Covid restrictions. This anxiety has been put at ease thanks to the periodically snap shots of my sons day. I can see the enriched activities he is participating in and honestly, I can see a major improvement in his cognition due to some of these activities. It was so important for me to find a daycare that kept my baby clean and healthy, but also helped develop him mentally. He has grown substantially in his abilities since being there. My son has been attending Spring Branch Kindercare since he's been about 6 months old and he's…read morecurrently 2.5 years old. Prior to daycare we had a nanny but she wasn't what we thought she was, but that's a different story. Anyways we were in a pinch and needed to find a daycare. In a span of one week I toured 4 different daycares. We chose Kindercare because 1. Ms. Crystal is super responsive and during the tour she answered the list of questions we had clearly, 2. Ms. Lorena had been the main teacher in the infant room for a long time (and she's still there and she really was wonderful with our son while he was in the infant room). 3. I really liked how the babies were getting tummy time and they don't use bouncers/rockers or those sit to stand circular play things. The current assistant director, Ms. Ashley is wonderful and I think she's helped improve this Kindercare location. My son was lucky enough to have her as his teacher in the toddler room before she became to assistant director. In the room my son is now in, there has been one teacher (Ms Shay) that's been in that room since he's started and the second teacher/ helper in that room has changed about 2 or 3 times. I think Ms. Shay has been super helpful with my son's potty training. They really try to adhere to what the parent wants, which made it easier to be more consistent with how the potty training is going at home. One of the or major reasons why we like Kindercare is that they will give your child the food you pack him ( if you choose to do that). In the beginning I would pack all of my son's solid foods because I wanted to make sure he was used to the food I cooked and that I could make sure he got plenty of nutrients as we did not want him to start eating meat too early or get too used to the food offered at the daycare. I won't say it's perfect, nothing ever is, but I honestly don't think we could have made a better choice in the grand scheme of things*. And with the covid pandemic, they've stayed open and have taken the proper precautions to keep the teachers and children safe. It's not as easy to talk to the teachers anymore since I don't want to hold them up at pick up, but I have emailed and they are able to get back to me the within 24hrs about my questions about how my son was doing. If there's one negative I think it is the child to teacher ratio. They go with the state limit, so needless to say I think they could use more teachers. *Side story - there was one point where we were seriously upset and wanted to change daycares because of my son getting bit and we weren't sure if the biting would stop. But after talking with Ms. Crystal about the situation, she laid out the plan to deal with it and the biting stopped. Granted we had to get to step 3 of the plan (remove the bitter from the class). But it showed me that they were really willing to fix the issue and not ignore or brush it under the rug.

As a single mother, I work hard to provide quality care because I expect my child to be safe, cared for, and treated properly. One of the biggest concerns I had was that my child was not fed according to the feeding schedule that I personally provided and that the daycare agreed to follow. During enrollment, they made a huge deal about labeling every bottle and following my child's feeding schedule. However, after dropping my child off at 7:15 a.m., he was not fed until approximately 11:36 a.m.--more than 4 hours later. My child currently has difficulty eating solid foods and relies on formula, which I fully explained before enrolling him. Jay acknowledged this and agreed that the daycare would work with my child's feeding needs. When I went to ask why my child had not been fed according to the agreed-upon schedule, instead of addressing my concern, the director, Jenna, immediately asked me, "Why are you here if you feel like your kid is unsafe here?" And said AFTER 20 years of directing she never seen this problem before, supposedly she's a mother self if she cared so much for kids she would be talking back with her remarks and her attitude she will be handling her issues, WHICH I found that response extremely unprofessional. Rather than answering my question or helping me understand what happened, she was quick with remarks, talked over me, and became defensive can't get two sentences out to My concern was simply to understand why my child had gone over four hours without being fed, but I still never received a clear answer. To make matters worse, after I raised this concern, Jenna informed me that my child would no longer be allowed to attend the daycare. From my perspective, it felt like my child was being removed because I questioned their care and expected accountability, rather than because my concerns were addressed. My child also became very sick while attending this daycare, which only added to my concerns about the cleanliness of the facility. From what I personally observed, the school did not appear to be cleaned or sanitized the way I expected for a childcare center. After my experience, I went back and read other reviews, and I realized that many parents had raised similar concerns. Looking back, I wish I had read them before enrolling my child. To the owner, Jay: before responding to this review, please focus on addressing parents' concerns instead of protecting the daycare's reputation. Parents trust you with the most important people in their lives--their children. When concerns are raised, they deserve honest answers and accountability. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this daycare to any parent.
