Since changed over, I used to go to BOB HAVEN all the time so I tried the new owner pleasantly surprised they make an incredible eggplant Parmesan. I went back and tried their Stromboli just as good. Two really disappointing orders in a row. A month or so ago, I ordered three cold sandwiches, told them what I wanted on each one, and instead they made 3 club sandwiches with things I did not ask for, like bacon and toasted bread. Of course, didn't find this out until I'd gotten home. Today, ordered a couple of cheese steaks. Hardly any meat and the cheese literally wasn't even fully melted. Again, didn't find out until I'd gotten home and the globs of unmelted cheese were so gross - right in the trash. Won't be back. They bought Bob's Haven Deli and been rebranded as - "The New Haven Cafe". Same phone, but different website url. read more

My sons and I have eaten at this deli a couple of times after soccer games. They have a lot of choices on the menu. Most of the choices are pizza or sandwiches. The sodas and ice teas are all bottled up and in a cooler. Place have a funky smell and is very dated. There's nowhere to sit other than a picnic table outdoors. The food is decent. I have never had the pizza but I am sure it is popular with the local college. read more

Business is now The New Haven Cafe. When my local breakfast spot stopped serving breakfast, I needed New spot. Typically known for pizza and hoagies. I gave it a shot this morning. First, great customer service, welcomed when I walked through door. I ordered egg, cheese, bacon and sausage on English muffin. I like going to restaurant that you can tell they like to cook. The food and cooking stations are super clean, the sandwiches and pizza are delicious. Everything is well balanced, i.e. onion tomato and meat ratios. Food is extremely affordable and the portions priced accordingly. The appetizers are on par with other places, but their stars are the zeps and pizza. I came in to get some lunch. I asked if they have any gluten free options as I have celiacs disease and they initially said no. She then said that I could order a hoagie with no bread, or a salad. I asked the lady if I could order a hoagie and then her wrap it in lettuce. She said that they don't have lettuce that they could wrap it in. I am only making this review so that they could possibly consider getting gluten-free options. They could do a cauliflower pizza crust, they could buy some gluten free buns (which are sold at any supermarket), they could buy gluten free sandwich wraps, they could buy Iceberg or Romain lettuce so that they could use that as an alternative to bread for sandwiches and hoagies. Plus that would appeal to low carb or health-conscious people. Even if they had a certain side of anything I would have bought it such as soup, vegetables, beans etc. Even if a place just has one special option for something that's gluten-free, that makes a world of difference. Because unfortunately I can't come here even though I work right next-door and live around the corner. They would have had my business all the time. Also, please consider putting a vegetable sandwich on the menu or different options for vegans and vegetarians. There are certain apps that say where there is gluten-free, vegan or vegetarian options and your place doesn't show up for any. If you did any of those small changes it would bring you new marketing. I promise you you will get a new crowd of people and a lot more business! read more

Very good hoagie place... my parents recommended it and they've tried most in the area. It's no frills but the food is fresh and tasty and extremely reasonable. Their small "Zep" is more than one meal for me, and that's $6 and change... much less expensive than Wawa or any of the chain options, and way better quality. (I used to love Wawa but the deli is not what it used to be.) This is our go-to place for hoagies to take to the park for a picnic lunch, and the second half for dinner that night. read more

The owner came to my home unsolicited after refusing me business because of a misunderstanding, and asked me how much my apartment cost. He used his information about my address to come to my home and make me uncomfortable. It feels highly inappropriate when someone has emailed you about a problem to pull their personal address and visit them alone at home to confront them about their order, and even more inappropriately, their financial situation. I am basing this review on the appearance and the only thing I order when I come here which is the Tuna Zep. The appearance could really use a makeover. Nothing major but they could absolutely have room for a few tables inside because the only sitting place is outside at picnic tables. There is also a weird smell once you walk in as well. Before I ever even stepped foot in the location I got wind of this place when I worked at a previous job and they would always talk about the huge hoagies that were so delicious and they would order. Since I am a pescatarian I and they ordered the Tuna zep a lot of the time I decided to partake. The first time i had joined in on the order , i was in shock at how large the sandwich was. In walked this huge zep that was enough for about 4-5 people to share. So my first time having it, I wont say i was disappointed because it was good but I'm sorry I do not like American Cheese and they put white american cheese on it. They also had so many onions on there I literally had to pick so many onions off. Once I learned my lesson I started to order on my own from time to time. I would get the Tuna Zep with provolone and although i would say very light onion guess what they would do.....NOT LISTEN and my sandwich would have a million slivers of onion on it. I cant speak on any other food at the Deli because i have never tried it and probably never will but when i am craving a tuna zep in the area while at work they are the ones that I go because it just put together nicely and taste very good. The only other thing i would say be aware of if you aren't familiar with the menu is they literally charge for every little thing. if you want to add pickles to your sub its extra, mayo extra, peppers, extra so just pay attention to what you are adding so you don't get confused as to why your bill started going up. read more

First Yelp review! OK - I recently moved nearby with my fiancé and we both enjoy eating out on the weekends. I recalled eating at a local shop many years prior to much satisfaction. After a few minutes of Internet research, I discerned Bob's deli was the local purveyor I had frequented in the past. My fiancé and I both love the food and ordinarily order from Bob's at least twice per month on the weekends. I strongly recommended their wings. They are delicious without any sauce or dip. My husband and I ordered from this location over the weekend via GrubHub. First, the order was ready and delivered about 20 minutes earlier than the projected delivery time, and this was on a Saturday night! Secondly, my meatball hoagie and husbands chicken tender parm hoagie were nice and hot, but not "burn the roof of my mouth" hot. He enjoyed the steak fries. I ordered steak fries with cheese and gravy. The whole meal just hit the spot. Though the rolls were tasty, I felt like I didn't even need the role. The meatballs were nice and flavorful. I could have eaten them alone or cut up over the fries! If you don't have a big appetite I suggest getting the 12" hoagies because that will be two meals that will leave you completely satisfied. You definitely get your bang for your buck. I think I will just order takeout next time so I don't have to deal with the GrubHub fees. read more

Drove 25 minutes in the pouring rain and fog to get to Bob's Haven. 1st time there. My wife and I got their Italian Zep, small for her and a medium for me. It was the best zep (hoagie has lettuce) I've ever had. Many layers of meat and cheese, not just one. I will be going back, hopefully the weather will be better. read more

Started coming here a couple months ago. They're cheesesteaks and fried food is delicious. I ordered lunch meat four separate times. Every time I ordered it, went bad within three days. I asked them to slice it thin and it was so thick it wasn't even usable. The worst part was I had to wait 45 minutes each time for my lunch meat I couldn't even use. I spent two of the worst months of my life in Phoenixville back in 2008/2009, and this place was both a help and a hindrance to my opinion of this town, especially since it's one of the only eateries on that side of Phoenixville. The food is phenomenal. I don't think I ate anything there that I didn't relish wholeheartedly. The stromboli were my favorite. However, the staff back then was EXTREMELY hit or miss. The younger, high school and college age kids were complete sweethearts, probably because they hadn't been steeped in the negativity of that town as long as their elder counterparts. Some of the older employees, however, were HORRIBLE! I had a debit card issue one time that one blonde, middle aged employee decided to turn into a scene for the WHOLE place to witness. When my card didn't work at the ATM (turned out the card had been deactivated with no warning) she asked if my boyfriend and I had any other cash on us (Um, if we did, we wouldn't have had to use the ATM, now would we?) and when we said no, she made a big production out of unbagging the food we purchased and re-distributing it to other customers whom had ordered the same thing and barked at us, "What is WRONG with you people? I ALWAYS have cash on ME!!" Not only was that none of her business, but it was rude and a poor way to treat customers. To make matters worse, the next time we went in there, there was ANOTHER middle aged woman behind the counter whom glared at us through her horn rimmed glasses and snapped at us with an awful attitude before we even ordered saying, "I remember you two! I was told to make sure you two show me the cash BEFORE you order! I was stuck with that order that you two couldn't pay for last time" which was a BOLD faced lie since the blonde merrily re-distributed the meal before our eyes the last time!! So, once more, we were made a spectacle of in front of the whole store and treated like thieves, having to show her the cash before even ordering, all over one debit card mistake that wasn't even my fault!! Needless to say, I was appalled. Maybe it's because I was an outsider, maybe they were just nasty people, but it definitely made me question going there anymore. I grew up and live in CT, and people complain about how nasty people are here, but never in my life have I been treated so poorly at almost ANY business in CT. It's the joys of traveling, I guess! Long story short, 5 star food, 5 stars for the sweet kids they hire, a big fat 0 for the two nasty women that don't know how to treat people, nevermind work at a business! read more

I know some of you out there will think this is blasphemy, but hands down this is THE place to go for a cheese steak! The only place I know where you can get brown gravy put on your cheese steak - amazing! They have a huge menu selection, prices are very reasonable and you cannot believe the sizes of the sandwiches. Do NOT order a Large or even an Extra Large unless you are extremely hungry, sharing with someone, or plan to make quite a few meals out of one sandwich. Yes, that's how big they are. They also offer mini-market and deli services (i.e. meats and cheeses). They have a full selection of chips, Tastey Cakes, other snack type food. A few coolers with a wide variety of drinks, sides (macaroni salad, potato salad, coleslaw etc), milk. Even a genuine pickle barrel. The only con is that it is not an eat-in establishment, but the quality of the food overrides any negatives. I dare anyone to try Bob's Haven and not like it! Funny side note - I lived in Texas for about 10 years of my life and upon moving back to Pennsylvania, my mother drove to Bob's Haven before even going to our Grandparent's house. This was our first stop before going anywhere else. Back then, I was too young to appreciate the awesomeness that is Bob's Haven; but I've grown up since then ;) read more

Great Italian hoagie and fast, friendly service! I've been meaning to try this place for years, so I was happy to have a chance today. It's a no-frills takeout place with an exhaustive menu and no seating that I could see. I decided to start with a basic order to test the place out: an Italian hoagie. First of all, the bread was just the way I like it, a bit crusty and a bit chewy. Totally makes a sandwich. The meats were all sliced to order, and they really piled it on. Really couldn't have asked for a better sandwich. To top it all off, the young man who served me had a bright personality, was very attentive, and spoke glowingly of the food. Told me what to order, but also said everything they made was great. I'll definitely be back to try something new. read more

Great food. Great prices. They don't just have good sandwiches, they're fried flounder platter was AMAZING. You get two or three big pieces of flounder, plus coleslaw, plus fries, and a buttered roll for ONLY $8. My neighbor recommended this place, which I didn't even know existed, and it has become my go-to for pizza on an "I don't feel like cooking" Friday night. YUM. I only tried their chicken cheesesteak once, and while it was OK, I've had better. But their pizza is really good AND they deliver if you're local, which I am. Ordered the 18" cheese steak hoagie from Bob's Haven for a change from TD Alfredo's. The raw onions were limp and ranging in size from sliver to huge chunk, also there were far too many on the cheese steak. The meat did not have much flavor, was not uniformly chopped and over cooked, the cheese was not mixed through only melted to the top layer of meat. A pretty disappointing sandwich all around. Not sure I would even want to try it again for fear of another terrible experience. I feel bad even writing this review b/c we had heard alot of good things and wanted to like it. :( read more

Sad to say although normally the food is good, the experience we had tonight was not so good. We ordered for delivery and the cheese fries spilled all over in the bag , this caused the fries to be inedible as they were all over and a mess on everything else we ordered. When we called they were so rude about it and flat out said "what do you want?" Not I am sorry or could we help in this way. Just flat out rude and took no responsibility for this, the driver or who ever packed the order. Obviously they do not care about their customers if this is how our food is delivered and the response we got its a shame to see this place starting to not care as this is not the first issue we have had in the past few months. LOVE this place. The people are cool, the food is amazing, the price is great, and I ate the delicious homemade fudge they had in two seconds. We also got a nice mountain themed calendar for free! They make "ZEPS" at this deli, not hoagies or subs. They don't make them with lettuce. I've eaten this kind of sandwich all over the country and this is the best ZEP in the world. Take it as they make it, with oil and vinegar, hot/sweet peppers. I wish I could have them mail ordered. It should be easy to make a good one, but it isn't. The bread is fresh and the onions are thinly sliced; the meat is perfect. I grew up in Phoenixville and, in the old days, most delis made good ZEPS. Now the art is being lost.
