We did some takeout from here on a Saturday based on the reviews and Grumpy's did not disappoint. We enjoyed several different sandwiches prepared by a classically trained chef and DelCo native who opened this sandwich place more than 10 years ago. Sandwiches are served on a kaiser roll with a small side of slaw and an oversized pickle. The turkey was deliciously juicy, cut 1/4" thick and piled quite high. The roast beef is cooked rare and more thinly sliced, tender with a hint of smoke. Corned beef was sold out. Parking is a challenge - reverse street angle parking although there is a municipal lot across the street near the train station and on Saturday, you can park in front of city hall which is just across the street. This is really a unique and cute sandwich place. We had to go to the tractor supply store in Pottstown, and I found Grumpy's on Yelp. It's very well decorated inside. We arrived a bit late, almost 2 pm, so it was quiet. We got to talk to the owner and his daughter--they are so friendly and the conversation itself is enjoyable. I got their Grump's sandwich while my husband got Simply Roast Beef. The thin sliced beef is a bit more rare than I would normally prefer, but it still tastes very good. If you don't like your meat rare, you could tell them and they will make it whatever way you want to. We don't live close by, so we may not be able to come back until our next trip to Tractor Supply. But if you are in the area, I highly recommend Grumpy's! read more

Tried sandwiches here for the first time. We ordered a Turkey BLT and Corned Beef Special. Both sandwiches were absolutely delicious. These were not deli sliced meat, they were large generous hunks of hot meat piled high. This place is top notch. If you want a mouthwatering gourmet sandwich, you must try Grumpy's! He will accommodate any adjustments you want to the sandwiches on the menu. We were very happy that we stopped by and will definitely return. read more

I was with a new salesman and we were out shaking bushes on a rainy blustery day when lunch hit. It does that amazingly everyday. Pulled up Yelp and found Grumpy's. Plenty of street parking. Front door is a puller not a pusher. Really cool interior. We walked up to the counter. Grumpy clearly knew we were not locals. Explained the menu and the specials. So many to choices. I went with the Honey ham special and it came with beets and butternut squash. Ok disclaimer we all know I am from West Tennessee so beets are not a thing down there so this was a new experience. They were very good. As you can see it was a huge serving so I didn't finish it all. The butternut squash is also not a traditional southern dish but I had had it and even grown a few but it was delicious and it disappeared quickly. The ham was overwhelming. Look at all that for one serving. Amazing. It was also delicious. Grumpy served it in a "to go" container so I could carry the leftovers home but since I am traveling that didn't work out. Definitely a locals favorite as Grumpy and his wife knew their names and several asked for the usual. WOW!! That's the first thought I had when I tasted the Pink Floyd sandwich (secret menu!) today! I walked in to the restaurant today and it was very clear that I was a first timer, lol. I didn't catch the cook's name, but he was great to talk to. He immediately gave me a generous slice of corned beef and also a slice of the hand carved turkey and both were amazing. When I went to make the order, I wanted to recreate a sandwich that I used to have years ago at an old job. I started to describe what I wanted and he was finishing my description exactly how I was going to say it! He and his daughter (pretty sure) both knew that I was ordering the Pink Floyd. Half roast beef, half turkey, with long hots, pepper Jack cheese and red pepper relish. It was so good!!! Comes with Cole slaw also, which I forgot to have in the pic. Apparently this place has been in business at this location for 13 years and during today's lunch it proves how much perfection can be achieved in that amount of time. WOW! This is what you think of when you want a small Mom & Pop store and it is welcome in this land where fast food options dominate. Now you can get something fast and delicious! Superb sandwiches, locally roasted coffee, house cured corned beef, housemade turkey on bread he gets from Philly. Owner is super friendly and passionate about that he does and it shows in his products. When we first walked in, he was able to guess what kind of sandwich we would want - and he was right - a sandwich Savant ! He brought us samples of his house roasted turkey breast to try. When I learned he also made his own corned beef, I had to try some and he suggested the Dagwood, piled high with tender, succulent turkey and topped with fall apart, briny corned beef with coleslaw and Russian dressing. Highly recommend this sandwich. Can't wait to go back and try the other sandwiches, including his breakfast sandwiches! Tucked away in an unassuming part of High Street is this small sandwich shop. Walking in, the place is very clean and inviting. The owner and his son were there making sandwiches/soups and taking orders. The menu is more or less split between turkey and roast beef as well as soups and salads. Before you think it's pricey, see how massive the sandwiches are (see photos). The flavor clearly comes from the quality and (lack of) done-ness of the meats. The coleslaw side is small but, in my opinion, the best found anywhere. The Grumpy Special was packed with roast beef with just s little bit of peppers and cheese. I might ask for extra peppers to split it up a bit as the peppers were very good too. The Beef and Blue was also very tasty.
