After attending church, we decided to stop by this place. The location was bright, clean, and surprisingly not crowded for a Sunday afternoon. We were the first ones to arrive, and the young man working the register was patient and answered all our questions as first-time customers. The wait for our food was reasonable. The same person who had taken our order came back to bring it and apologized for the slight delay. They had to make more steak. We ordered the ultimate Italian, a cheesesteak hoagie, and a regular steak with onions and mushrooms. This hidden gem has been serving up delicious food for years. The hoagies were fresh, generous, and simply mouthwatering. They were among the best steaks and hoagies we've ever had. The steak meat had a slight saltiness, but it enhanced the overall flavor, making it a pleasant taste. The fries were cooked perfectly, hot, and crispy, staying fresh and crispy throughout the meal. It would be challenging to finish an entire hoagie in one sitting, so I'm happily writing this review the next day at work, savoring the other half of my sandwich. Since we live on the other side of Chester County, it's an easy half hour-long drive to come here. We'll definitely be making the trip again, whether it's after church each week or not. I've driven past this place a thousand times and finally decided to stop in on a Saturday, midday. Wasn't very crowded, pulled right into a spot out front, walked in and was greeted immediately by the young man behind the counter. I ordered the combo, with a plain steak. Though there were only a couple of people inside, my order was expected to take 15-20 minutes-turns out they do a heck of an online business. Folks were coming in steadily while I waited, only ten minutes or so. The place was cool inside, an old garage with some retro style tables, a TV, and local sports represented on the walls. I will say that this steak sandwich was not anything special as compared to other local establishments, but it was loaded up with meat. The fries were good as well, and for $14 I was full for quite some time. They earned their 4 stars through the service, though-the young man working the register was very good with all customers, and very respectful. I see a return visit in my future. read more

I stopped in a few weeks ago because the Pudge's near me does not have the Pudge chips. WOW! So yummy. I prefer them with just ketchup-just like really crispy french fries. We were coming from Downingtown up to the Poconos and we had friends who suggested we eat here. They literally just opened up 4 days ago! I stopped eating meat about 2 years ago so I was nervous. However, their grilled veggie sandwich was out of this world. First, every sandwich has to have two things: good bread and good meat to bread ratio. This sandwich had that 100%. Plus the veggies were cooked to perfection. I'm still thinking about it 11 hours later. My wife had the chicken mushroom cheesesteak and she was also thoroughly impressed. Our friend had the grilled cheese sandwich with tomatoes and roasted peppers and it looked amazing. Oh and get the Cajun fries! There are about 4 or 5 tables so I can imagine it getting tight. We got there around 12:30 and it seemed like the crowd had cleared. There is a garage door and it sounds like when it warms up they will outdoor seating. Wanted to like this place, as the reviews for Pudge's are generally great, but this Pottstown location, after 3 visits, does not meet expectations. While the steaks and hoagies are adequate, they're not great and the service is spotty at best. A walk-in order took 25 minutes to hand across the counter, and this was not a busy hour. An on-line order, quoted as ready in 45 minutes, took only 30. It sat on the counter for 15 minutes before I could get there, and when I did the counter staff appeared confused, and barely courteous. It's a rather social environment - for the staff! Three visits, each one disappointing. For the cost, quality should be better across the board. read more

1st time having Pudge's and I'm disappointed with the cheesesteak but loved the hot honey wings. The wings were superb! The flavor, tenderness, crispness were excellent. The cheesesteak had good quality meat. Ordered with fried onions and sauce. The onions were very plentiful and the sauce was almost non-existent. Sauce was stingily wiped across only the top of a very meat packed cheesesteak. The amount of meat was great, but due to no sauce throughout it tasted very salty. Neither my husband or I could eat much of the cheesesteak because of this. This would have been an excellent cheesesteak had they not completely skimped on the sauce. When I order "with sauce" I expect it to be blended throughout the meat/cheese mixture. For my husband and I the taste was completely ruined. I'm annoyed this 20" cheesesteak cost $24.50 and we did not enjoy it. read more
