I have been here twice with the lovey and never got a chance to write review. Well here it is.... This place is goooooood. Cheap prices, good flavor , huge servings. Perfect for late dinners after a concert or drinking with friends. I have had the pad Thai and pad see ew and they're both great dishes. I would like to go back here for lunch and get the crispy pork over rice or with noodles. Lots of students come here late at night because it's bag for your buck and pretty good. Parking is horrible though so be patient when looking for one. Anyway, I'm coming back here for lunch now that our office is closer to Berkeley. Trust!!!! read more

The crispy basil chicken looks great but is actually very salty. Will get sick of the flavor half way through. It comes with a decent amount of rice which is necessary to balance out the saltiness. The mama pad kee moa, is sweet and savory. Would recommend the Mama Pad Kee Moa over the Crispy Basil Chicken. read more

Very mediocre food, possibly the worst Thai food I've had. We ordered a thai fish cake appetizer, tofu pad thai, yellow curry, garlic shrimp plate, and a seafood noodle soup. The pad thai had broccoli, mushrooms, cabbage, and bok choy which was so strange to me because all of the pad thais I've had in the past didn't come with these ingredients. The seafood noodle soup didn't taste fresh. The yellow curry was overly creamy and coconutty. The thai fish cake was chewy and oily. Disappointing, expensive, and rotten. I will never come back here. They made the weirdest Pad Ka Prao I've ever seen. They added onions and green bell peppers, which I've never seen before in Pad Ka Prao. They ran out of basil which is a key component and neglected to tell me when I ordered. And when I opened up my to go containers in order to figure out which one was my friend's order, the Pad Ka Prao was so strange looking with strips of meat instead of diced/minced, had MUSHROOMS, and NO chilies. The menu's description clearly states that the main ingredients are meat, basil, garlic, and chili. There is NO mention of green bell pepper or onion, 2 ingredients I cannot digest. The green curry fried rice was complete and utter mush, again no basil. There were rotten green beans in it, see the picture. The pumpkin curry was decent but the pork in that dish and the Pad Ka Prao was grisly, half of which was inedible. They added way too much sugar and it ruined the fish. For the cost, I'll definitely go elsewhere. read more

The restaurant is slightly hidden because of the walls next to its entrance but mind you, this restaurant is worth the try. Walking in, i already liked the relative cleanliness of the place. We were seated right away and served right away. I can tell you that the pad see ew here is really good and I even got a taste of the pad Thai (the usual determination of "goodness"). If you're craving Thai food, this is definitely a place to go to. The only downside is parking. But hey, it's Berkeley. Go Bears! read more

I've been eating here for 15+ years when it was still called Thai Noodle. The food is spectacular & the prices remain reasonable. My favorite dishes: Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Pumpkin Curry, & Fresh Rolls (appetizer). You've got to order the Thai Iced Tea. It is very sweet, but delicious! I don't think you can go wrong with any item on the menu. This is my favorite Thai restaurant & it's authentic! I couldn't give it 5 stars for their service today. Maybe the name change came with maybe new management? I haven't been here for a while. Before they had a regular staff with a very welcoming vibe to the guests. Now it's different workers without the same warm welcome. Everything was good until our waitress, Torry, asked for tip at the end. My friend & I already paid with a split bill via debit card. I said I'd pay the tip for us. So Torry came over to ask my friend for her tip. It's inappropriate & impolite to ask for tip (aka extra money). Her service wasn't anything special & the receipt already lists a suggested tip amount, so this is just selfish. It's hard to get regular customers & so easy to lose them. I'm waiting on the manager or owner to call me back about my complaint. When done so, I'll happily change my review to 5 stars. read more

As others have mentioned, it's a shame that this place is no longer open as late as it used to, but the food is still amazing. The Fried Chicken over Fried Rice sounds simple but it's really unique while incorporating classic Thai flavors. The chicken strips are juicy and flavorful while the fried rice in itself is sweet and tasty. I also think their Thai Kee Mao is cooked perfectly. Unlike the Fried Chicken over Fried Rice, this dish is more run of the mill but it's a tad bit sweeter than most I've tried and I really like that aspect. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID PAPAYA SALAD was terrible, absolutely horrendous!! It's more like pickled julienned veggies of some sort. Super duper soggy and old and a very poor excuse for a Papaya salad. I tried getting a refund for it because it was old and soggy. They refused to refund or make me something different. Not sure if they do that with all patrons or just the black ones. Also ordered the CRISPY FRIED SHRIMP APPETIZER, egg roll wrapper was not fully crispy and the shrimp were way under cooked but had a decent flavor. I wouldn't go back but if you do avoid the papaya salad and ask for the shrimp appetizer to be cooked xtra Crispy. People just have to treat people better than that. read more

After years of favoring the Bangkok Thai restaurant, I finally gave this place a try upon my brother's recommendation. And you know what? The Noodle is now my favorite Thai restaurant in Berkeley. It's hard to find fault in a place where you're treated with such warm and friendly hospitality. Asian restaurants aren't necessarily where I'd expect to find good service (see my review on Sawooei Thai), so I was a bit shocked when we were treated like honored family guests. Combine that with their finger-licking good menu items and you have a magnificent eatery that easily wins the heart of local diners, as is evident in their Yelp rating. The Noodle (formerly known as Thai Noodle) is a popular lunch spot for my coworkers and I. It's not my favorite, but it is the favorite of some of my coworkers. It's cheap, fast, portions are generous, and the staff are really nice. They'll make it spicy, if you request it. In my experience, the menu can be pretty hit or miss... my go-to is the Pad See Ew with duck. My coworkers often get curry, shrimp, or eggplant dishes. read more

Finally came here to try The OG Thai Noodle after going to the one on Telegraph for the past 3 years! The menu is exactly the same - I ordered their fried chicken fried rice while my friends ordered pad Thai and eggplant with rice. I've always liked their noodles more than the rice because it's not as flavorful/can get a little too moist but the fried chicken was crisp and yummy and a great complement to the rice! How haven't I been here before?! The food is delicious! My group of friends and I shared 4 plates and everything we had was great. I need to call special mention to the roti with yellow curry (one of their specials). It was amazing! Very flavorful, crispy, and light at the same time. You cannot go wrong with some of the typical plates like the pad sea ew or the pineapple fried rice. The only thing that we were a bit annoyed with was the gratuity fee. No mention was made, but they automatically charge an 18% tip for groups of 5 or more. The service was not great, so this was quite generous on their part. read more

BEWARE The Noodles website adds an 18 percent tip as a default on pickup orders. If you delete the amount it will add it back in automatically when you place the order. The manager says you have to put 0 not delete the default tip. This is outrageous to even have a default tip on a pickup orders. It's very shady, a scam. The food is decent. But never order online. We were starving after jumping around like a bunch of young EDM maniacs sniffing in the good kush air and sipping on ethanol delights. Kygo's concert was literally amazing-- top notch one of the best I've ever been to. And we needed an equally amazing foodie experience post-concert. Whip out Yelp on our phones and we settled on The Noodle, Thai Restaurant. It was around 11:30PM and there was still a wait! The restaurant itself is not that big, perhaps fits about 25-30 max. We waited about 30 minutes since we had a party of 5. Service was quick and attentive with no frills. Ordered the usual pad thai, duck fried rice, silver noodles salad, etc. Each dish was authentic and on-point. Me and my friend had been to Thailand and we were quite satisfied by the delicious food. Seems to be a family-owned mom 'n pop shop that locals can support! Highly recommend their fried rices and pad thai/see ew. HOWEVER be warned they do season on the slightly SWEETER/sugary side. It wasn't as umami/savory as I'd hoped it'd be but the textures of the carbs (noodles/rice) and protein quality/quantity were decent and delicious. Thai iced tea was typical sweet drink as well. Bill was reasonable at each plate around $10 - $15 and it was easy to figure out payment. For being busy and full on Saturday 11:30PM is always a good sign! The Noodle, Thai Restaurant holds some very fond memories for me when I was a UC Berkeley student as I visited this restaurant on a few occasions. My favorite item is the beef kawpad which seems very simple on the menu, but it is very delicious! I'm craving it as I'm writing this review, haha. The fried rice comes with some white onions, sliced tomatoes, beef, and a little bit of egg. It is scrumptious when it's piping hot. I love this place! I believe this Thai Noodle and Thai Noodle II are under the same management, but I definitely like this Thai Noodle much much better than Thai Noodle II on Telegraph. The service is efficient and satisfactory, and I think the quality is much better. Decor is about the same: minimalistic and unpretentious, with a flat-screen tv on one side and condiments on every table. I've tried pretty much everything on the menu, and the one dish I keep coming back for is the sukiyaki (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/thai-noodle-berkeley?select=5P2k_NXjpkrgdVN_oGsQyw#yGjANDToZ9SZKsxt-Wcy8w). It's a bit different from Japanese sukiyaki, but there's an aromatic component to it I can't quite describe and I've never tasted elsewhere. I get the spicy sauce on the side because I like controlling how much to add in, and sometimes scooping out the seafood and dipping it directly into the sauce gives a nice contrast of flavor from the soup. There's vermicelli, napa cabbage, and spinach in the soup in addition to seafood. I really like the added vegetables, but sometimes the cook on them is inconsistent and the napa cabbage especially can be undercooked since it's just thrown in there. As far the other dishes go, there's nothing really that memorable that stands out to me. The curry and noodle dishes aren't bad, but I think you can get better-quality ones elsewhere in Berkeley. read more

I went to this place this week after almost 2 years the lady(do not know her name ) still remembered what I used to eat exactly how I liked to change my noodles. I was surprised that she remembered everything.She was soo happy to see us. I think she is the manager of this place. All the staffs are very welcoming. I loved their new interior. They used to open until 1:30am but now they close early . We had pineapple fried rice and thai bbq fried rice. I would highly recommend both fried rice. Delicious. So far, best Thai in the East Bay! Will definately be back w/friends. Massive portions! They serve w/giant utensils and chopsticks that make dishes look smaller in photos. I shot one w/regular size fork to show how tremendous these plates are. Food was amazing and they don't skimp on anything! Knock your socks off succulent Duck Fried Rice! Spectacular Pad Thai! Seafood was plentiful and perfectly cooked, not under done, but not chewy at all! Plus, all the Thai condiments you're looking for right on the table. Crisp fresh vegetables and Thai iced tea made with whole cream and sugar, rather than sweetened condensed milk, had a richer texture than one usually finds. Service was helpful, but could didn't query for the full order up front (drinks, apps, etc). I had never been there before and was a little overwhelmed by the menu so there was some table chasing for servers as I made individual requests to complete my order after seeing Thai iced tea, soup, regular size utensils at the other tables. I'm a big fan of The Noodle, formerly known as Noodle Co., and formerly known as Thai Noodle. They've really cleaned the place up. I used to come to this spot during my freshman year because they were open super late. While their hours aren't as generous nowadays, I still come out here when I get the chance. It's a little far from campus so you know it's good if I even bother to come. The basil chili chicken (pad kra paw) here is a lot better than the stuff on Telegraph, notably better than Thai Noodle 2 and Racha's. Honestly Thai Noodle 2 sucks - they got a health code violation and sort of lied about it. Anyway, the basil chicken here is super good and also includes mushrooms, which is a little unusual but goes well with the dish. My friend had the pad sea ew and he loved it. They didn't appear to make it spicy enough for him but honestly not a huge deal. Mango sticky rice here is delicious. Definitely a good call right before a night at Triple Rock. One nice little perk about this place is the staff. They're super nice. It's really rare and refreshing at this price point. Overall I'm a fan and would come again. read more

Ah... indoor dining finally. My wife and I went there on Friday (10/23) for take-out, and were pleasantly surprised when they asked if we'd like to dine-in. It turns out they can allow 10 customers to dine-in at the same time. The serving staff did wear masks, and thoroughly clean the tables and menu after each customer. You do have to ask for the Thai condiments that are normally in jars on the table. Since the limit is 10 customers, they were very attentive. The restaurant is geared for individuals as each dish comes with rice on the side (unless its a noodle dish). It's a great value for the quality of food. We ordered our favourites: Panang Beef: Rich red curry, sweet and a little spicy. This is a very saucy dish, that goes well with rice. Eggplant with Basil: Nice slices of eggplant, stir-fried with other veggies in a brown savoury sauce. Pad Kra Paw with Chicken: Ground chicken stir-fried with veggies in a brown savoury sauce. The Mama Pad Kee Mow is one of my go-tos now. The food is great (though the to-go portions seem a little small).

My friend brought me here for dinner before we headed out to a Warriors game. I was a little nervous going to a sit down place because of our time constraint. This Thai spot was quick, very tasty, and affordable - a winning combination. My friend knows the chef, but told me it was his day off. He ordered noodles w chicken, and I ordered Green curry w jasmine rice. From the time we ordered to receiving was about 5-7 minutes. The curry was spicy and delicious while the rice was sticky and appeared to have some small amount of garlic that gave it a good perfumed quality. We really enjoyed the food, and it came out to be under $20. I will be back to try new dishes, and provide a review update. read more

When coming here with many friends, I would recommend ordering "family style", and everyone just takes food from dishes in the middle. Amidst a tough month in the Bay Area due to the "Shelter in place" in effect, many restaurants are offering free delivery so check with Thai Noodle and make sure you're in the delivery range! I was pulled into this place because of all the photos from yelpers! Many of the rice dishes had me salivating and thinking of Thai food so I decided to go in. My friend came really late but they let me take a table and order for us anyway. They have a pretty big menu and if only I had a stomach (and wallet!) big enough to take half of their choices I would do it! But I decided on just 3 options: Fried tofu (an appetizer), sauteed eggplant with chicken (a rice plate) and flat noodles with beef, covered with peanut sauce (I would have gone with the pad thai if I weren't on a no-seafood-diet for lent!). The service was fast and the servers were friendly and attentive. My order came out really fast (I was expecting to wait at least 10 or 15 minutes) - but it was only at least 5, definitely less than 10, minutes after I ordered! And all the dishes came at about the same time. So I thought that was pretty cool. AND they offered to reheat the noodle dish when my friend finally arrived. That was really nice of them. So about the food... the fried tofu... I saw it on the menu and thought oooohhh - haven't had that in a while! Then when it arrived my first thought was: "whoah, that's a huge portion!" It would definitely be a good starter for 4 people. But when I tried it I felt my spirit slump because I was expecting the tofu to be at least a little crispy. It was really good w/their peanut sauce, though, but man - tofu was just soggy, probably from the oil. :( However, the rice plate was really good and both my friend and I really liked the noodle dish and we also agreed that their peanut sauce was exceptional. i've been here many times for many years so lets just get straight to the point. came here with my parents to show them good thai food and ordered 2 pan fried noodles, a curry a la carte, fried spring rolls, and a duck salad. duck salad, and noodles were good.. but the spring rolls were tiny and plated on a huge unnecessary plate. i remember back then they were bigger but it barely fed 3 people. as a matter of fact everything was a tiny order typically made for just one person each. I ordered the curry without the rice because we were going to eat everything family style meaning we will be sharing dishes. she asked us if we wanted it a la carte without the rice and we got it in the same bowl they would serve it with the rice on the side just like when i ordered it other times. we didn't have enough food to eat the curry with so we got pineapple fried rice to eat the tiny bowl of curry. we got the bill and it came out to $83 and some change. what blew my mind was THEY CHARGE YOU FOR ORDERING THE CURRY A LA CARTE as in they CHARGE you if you DON'T want the side of rice that comes with it. so that means its full price for the curry ($12) and they charge you 3.50 for A LA CARTE.... she then tells me they give you more in an a la carte order than they do with the rice in which i told the waitress that its not true because i get this same amount in THIS bowl if i ordered it regular at other times i cam to eat. she was speechless to say the least but its enough to convince me to never come here again. read more

Great pad Thai! So flavorful, and it's even better with the crushed peanuts table side. I love the attentive service and how clean the condiment jars are. I'm a lot of restaurants, the condiment jars are filthy. Not here! The atmosphere was warm and not too loud, perfect for talking with friends in a casual setting. Stumbled across this restaurant on yelp and came on New Year's Eve for lunch with my girlfriends. The restaurant is small and quiet. The waitress was super friendly offering suggestions and giving recommendations based on flavors we like. The food was excellent. The pad sew ew was sweet and flavorful. The soup was incredible and filling. My friend who's trying to cut down on the gluten got the pumpkin curry with tofu and rice which had chunks of pumpkin in to. Great place to go with friends if you're in Oakland looking for Thai food. Just a note: street parking only and most of their dishes are gluten free. I love coming to this place for one they're open late... And sometimes you just don't want fast food you want a real cooked meal... So this is always my go-to when I'm in Berkeley. Usually I will get a curry or Pad see ew.... and the mango sticky rice (is a must)... who am I kidding I also get the fried rice.
