    Maple bar latte
    Ali B.

Delicious lattes and super fun nostalgic aesthetic! I love a good coffee shop with a unique vibe. This spot is like stepping back into my childhood which was so fun. They have a ton of space inside and a patio. They have events and play 90's cartoons and movies! There have a bunch of VHSs and books! My husband got a caramel latte and I got an iced maple bar latte which actually tasted like a maple bar donut! Staff was incredibly nice and explained the spot to us. Also they have chalk for the patio which my 2 year old absolutely had a blast with. I don't get out to Gilbert a ton but this is definitely a spot worth making the trek out there for!!

First, I'm all about a vibe. And a 90's vibe! Yes, please! I walked in and was immediately greeted by all three workers. My son immediately found comfort in the bean bag chairs, I was surprised he didn't take his shoes off! There was so much to see and look at, I wished I had more time to really look into every thing. I was surprised by the price for an iced americano, but #shoplocal . In fact the prices weren't listed anywhere I could see, but again, I'm all about supporting local businesses. There was a variety to the menu and some bakery items. Overall, definitely worth a visit. Next time, I'm gonna try to go kid free :)

3/21/26: cute place, great book selection, small patio outside, pet friendly. Limited in non-coffee drinks and not too many baked items. What I really liked was their encouragement to bring in your own cup for 10 cents off.

Amazing drinks and adorable shop. The owner is so kind and truly cares about what she has to offer her clientele. You have to check out the patio if you come by, it's just as cute as the rest of the place!

As I looked around, I couldn't help but think that if I lived there, I'd probably be stopping in daily. The combination of a bakery and coffee house makes it the perfect neighborhood spot. Although I skipped the coffee this visit--it was mid-afternoon on a Sunday, and I wasn't looking for a caffeine boost--I'll definitely be back to give it a try. For this visit, we focused on the baked goods and sampled four items: the chocolate croissant doughnut, maple croissant doughnut, vanilla doughnut, and a red velvwtcupcake. Every single one was delicious. The croissant doughnuts were wonderfully flaky with just the right amount of sweetness, the vanilla doughnut was soft and flavorful, and the red velvet cupcake was rich and satisfying. It's rare to find a bakery where every item you try is a winner, but this one delivered across the board. Whether you're stopping in for coffee, a sweet treat, or both, this charming bakery is well worth a visit. I'll definitely be back.

Perhaps dining in is a better experience, I can't remember if they warm up the pastry but we took our maple, cheesecake croissant, and cinnamon roll to go. It tasted a day old. The croissant/ bread didn't taste fresh, almost stale. I opted to warm it up a bit, it was a bit better but then it just started feeling too sweet so I wasn't interested anymore. the cinnamon roll breading lacked flavor, but the cream on top was good. But again the bread dough just felt stale. It was a Sunday in the AM that we went. Not busy at all. Since it's a part of an apartment, parking is a little awkward and can feel tight. You could easily not notice the place and mistake it for being closed. It's right off of the round about. (the wind had blew over the open sign and the open sign wasn't lit) Service is okay, nice enough. Not really warm. Seating is ample and is cozy to sit and read or catch up with a friend.

Located right next to 99 ranch and other Asian stores, 85c has Asian pastries, cookies, breads and drinks. We enjoyed a few baos with cream filling, a slice of coffee cake and the black milk tea. I usually don't get chocolatey things at Asian bakeries because they rarely "do" chocolate well, and it was the same here: the chocolate chip cookie and black forest cake were only okay and just not rich enough with a cocoa taste. The cake layers tasted like a sponge cake with slightly dry edges (a little over-baked). I think the espresso layers were mousse and not too sweet.
