However, the knots in my back were absolutely killing me and I HAD to get them worked on before they got worse and caused me mobility issues. I searched for massage places in my vicinity and Healthy Thai popped up. Reviews looked promising so I called and they were able to accommodate me immediately. Tui Na is quite intense so I opted for the 90 minute deep tissue massage here which I figured would be comparable to the body work I am used to. The massage started off with my therapist (Pam) applying full body pressure on my legs, back and hips. She then diligently worked on every part of the body to relieve all the pressure points with her elbows and fingers. I asked for high pressure and she definitely delivered. I particularly enjoyed the head massage and the part where I was made to flip around and had my neck and shoulder worked on. As with all thai massages they stretch your body out and I like that this was towards the end sort of like a final litmus test to see how well your body is flowing. Very reminiscent of the many amazing massages I got while traveling through Bangkok and Koh Samui many years ago. I was sore a day or two afterwards which is pretty normal when tough knots are worked on, but I am so relieved that I can move my arms around much easier and the pain is gone. In addition to the actual massage I found the facility clean, soothing and the staff was very professional. I loved the faint smell of tiger balm in the sheets and the beds you are massaged on are heated which is actually quite a nice touch. The only thing I would improve is the pillow situation, at times it became uncomfortable to have my head switched to the side, perhaps they can make you lay face down in to a donut pillow or something that mimics a massage table. Other than that, I highly recommend this wonderful place. If you are in pain and need relief, look no further than a few sessions here and I am sure you will feel brand new in no time!!

I showed up for my appointment and completed a one-page check in sheet about pains, etc. Then I was in my room, undressed, under the sheet in no time. I picked the Tai/Combo massage (from the website: techniques from Thai, Swedish, deep tissue and other styles). I was in heaven. The woman doing the massage rubbed on me, and was up on the table with me a couple of times to stretch and move my body around. It was all wonderful. My hour was up and I felt like jelly. At checkout, they gave me a bottle of water and that was nice. I am all for self-care these days, and this was a good way to spend $70 for an hour of Zen.

They told me THEIR thai massage had oil and I was to remove my clothes but keep my underwear on. I told them I just wanted a traditional Thai Massage. I 1,000% know it is illegal to uncover someone's glutes fully, but that didn't stop my therapist from pulling not only the blanket down to my thighs, but also pulling my underwear (a thong which already exposed the sides of my glutes) down to my thighs, fully exposing my entire butt. Let me be clear, this is absolutely illegal and unprofessional, there is a law specifically stating you cannot do this. EVER. - not to mention I am a female and my therapist was a male. It was clear this therapist wasn't trained in hot stones (something else I'm trained in), and the massage itself was abysmal. If they were in massage school and this was their final, they would not pass. And they shouldn't have. Afterwards I again asked the front desk about ACTUAL Thai Massage and if they dont have thai massage where else does - they said that there's one woman on staff who provides it (who obviously wasn't available when I came in). I don't know why she didn't just tell me this to begin with instead of take my money and my peace of mind. I left here a thoroughly unsatisfied customer. If the (NOT Thai) Massage had been good, I wouldn't have been so upset over her deception. But to lie to me, and then get something so sub par? I would NEVER do this to a client. I'd give 0/5 stars if I could. And truly unless you know a therapist at this business that's actually good, I wouldn't recommend anyone go. The way you handle cleaning a hen or chicken to roast for dinner. You can tell he was not professionally trained. Trained massage would be slow, relaxing , with even pressure and rhythm. His massage was awful. Then for my calves it felt more like he was rubbing my leg for heat, applying no pressure to the actual muscles. They use hot stone which I hated because it was just more random rubbing that did nothing to massage my muscles nor relax me. I usually hate hot stone because it interrupts the flow of the massage, but there was NO flow in this massage so that didn't matter. I would recommend to the owner of this facility to properly train their workers. There was also a weird jingle sound like a tune from an ice cream truck that rang a few times that I had to ask him to turn off. The prices are really good and now I know why. They make no investment in their workers. I'm disappointed and am just going to book a session at a professional place.
