VERY rude owner...came to try this new place today at 12:30 and was disappointed with my drink, food and the rude commentary from the owner. the other owner who took our order and the girl baristas were very nice. I got the blueberry latte and was disappointed, it had little to no blueberry flavor and just tasted like cinnamon, espresso was bitter and cold foam was barely sweet at all(not how cold foam should be), plain croissant was dry, flavorless and slathered in an excessive amount of butter the guy in front of me in line inquired about if all syrups are 1883 or if some were made in house and was told all are 1883/not in house and also what beans they use for their espresso...another not difficult question. he also asked if their espresso was served in a ceramic cup that they had on the shelf and they said no but that it would be okay to give him to take pictures with with his drinks, it was not very busy at all and in no way seemed like a huge inconvenience as soon as he left the owner made a comment about knowing right away that he was going to be a difficult customer and hard to please when he came in asking all these questions...very standard questions that are not hard to answer if you know the slightest bit what you're doing owning a coffee shop owner needs to fix their attitude asap and recipes need to be redone with better ratios to sweeten and at least have a hint of the flavor that the latte is named after, just because you're using 1883 doesn't mean you can use drastically less syrup, especially when you're charging $8 for a drink with non-house made syrup and terribly bitter espresso read more

I've been following this cafe's journey through Tik Tok, so I was extremely excited to try it out once I saw they opened! I have no complaints about the wait time (1hr+) because I understand it's a new place which means it's very busy, but after waiting over an hour I expected the drinks to be delicious since this cafe is about quality and intention. The banana latte didn't have a hint of banana flavor, nor did the banana cream matcha. I got 20oz for both of those and they were filled with ice which watered down the drinks quickly. The cream foams didn't have a banana flavor either, so overall I rated those very low. However, brown shaken espresso was amazing & I'm still open to trying this place again. read more

It's okay, over priced and the wait times are long. Wait times and service is the reason why I stopped coming here.

We got three coffee drinks one being the Ghirardelli caramel iced latte, dulce de leche and banana latte. I felt that they all needed more of flavor to them. Yes I'm all for balanced taste of the espresso to flavor/sugar but it just tasted like espresso and milk. The place super cute and aesthetic but it was hot in there not sure if AC was not working but need it to be more cool to enjoy sitting inside to enjoy the cuteness. Prices were pretty standard $7.50 for 16oz and $8 for 20oz lattes. All in all I feel like with time and some tweaks to drinks the shop will be better! One more recommendation would be numbering drinks I had 4 drinks on my order they all came out at different times and other peoples drinks between my order like maybe 1/4,2/4 so on to get group drinks out back to back read more

We visited today and were so impressed! The attention to detail in the aesthetics, the delicious drinks and fun menu, and the friendly and efficient service. We went the day after their grand opening and were so impressed with how smoothly things were running for being so new. I got the dulce de leche latte, my husband got the Ghirardelli caramel latte, and my we got our daughter a kids "scribble." Everything was delicious! If you live in riverside or even if you don't you need to come by and try The Notebook Cafe it's one of the best coffee shops out there in my opinion and that's no lie because I am obsessed with iced coffee so finding out this new coffee shop was opening I had to go try it and it did not disappoint at all and the owner and all the staff that work there are extremely nice and sweet.. they definitely know how to interact with their customers.. so of course I'm going to show love to this incredible coffee shop! Drinks are mediocre considering the awful service you'll receive. The taste is not worth the dirty looks, lack of attention, and carelessness the employees have. I have been coming here since it opened and the baristas have 0 training. Ashley served a drink with no lid, refused to put it on, and proceeded to watch as it spilled everywhere and offered no help. We've seen people fall, be ignored, and wait almost an hour for their drinks here. I work down the street and was so excited to finally have a spot but these guys missed the mark. I was in Riverside for a court appearance and had a little time before court. So, I went into the Notebook Cafe. It was quite busy with a line to the door. I was greeted by a very friendly, welcoming young man. The line moved fast. The barista who took my order was very friendly and helpful. They have a fantasic drink menu and everything I saw looked tasty. I ordered a honey vanilla latte. It was superb. The best latte I've ever had. I definitely recommend this Cafe. We were excited to try the new cafe, waited about over an hour outside in the heat. On their tik tok they advertised tote bags and free drinks. They didn't have any of those offerings which at the end of the day it's okay but when service is horrible that's when it becomes very disappointing. A baby dropped water on the floor and they made it seem like a big issue especially these randoms that cut in front of the people in front of us. The drinks were not great. The coffee quality was super good!! It was on the sweeter side, that being said, I got an Iced Salted Vanilla Pistachio(I think this was the name) Latte half sweet with oat milk and I did not know it came with cold foam on top. The baristas were very kind as well! They accept cash and card which is great (I really dislike cashless coffee shops) but not offer exact change when returning your change so take that as you please. Preferably I do not like cold foam but it was very good! Still on the sweeter side even half sweet (I assume it was from the cold foam). The quality of the coffee is not too strong and not too bitter! The second coffee in the image is the classic Brown Sugar shaken espresso with oat milk which also came with what I assume is brown sugar cold foam. It's my first time here so I'm not too sure if all of the iced lattes automatically come with the cold foam but it overall was not too shabby! Very much on the sweeter side though. The seating is nicely placed more on the tightly packed type of seating side but there is also outdoor seating. Warm, cozy ambiance! I would definitely come again! :-) read more

The latte was really good and they were quick with my drink. I drink coffee 3 times a day so I know what places have good lattes and I'd definitely come back. It's a snug area but they have little seating inside and out. Also the girl was nice and even recommended what lattes were good and was patient when I was deciding. read more

Their matcha is so lovely - not presweetened and rich. I got the blueberry cold foam on top which was super yummy, just lightly sweetened and topped with 3 little blueberries. I give this place 1 star and thats for the nerve. Went to this place the guy with the hat and the white shirt THE OWNER is beyond so rude he did not make me feel welcomed yes i know your over stimulated with the amount of people but that should not change the way you treat guest that help your buisness grow. He was so rude to us guest drinks take forever to come out and unfortunately to top it off the matcha is gross as well as coffee i should have just bought one at the doughnut shop for the experince and price. And they use store bought syrups they are scamming you saying they are housemade by putting them in glass jars with their stickers! I've been here two times now and love it. Both times i was lucky enough to not have to wait in a long line so my drinks came out pretty fast :) The place itself is really cute and cozy. I don't see why some reviews are complaining about service?? They take your order politely with a smile and then your name gets called...simple interaction that i personally enjoy. Came in today for their grand opening and this might be my new favorite coffee shop! I love the atmosphere!! Whoever did the interior design needs a raise! It's so cozy and everything is so well put together. Despite it being the grand opening and it being full inside, the cleanliness was definitely a priority for them. I tried the banana cream latte and it was so much better than i expected! I'm not a huge fan of banana but I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, I have no regrets! The flavors in the latte blended together so well! They also had a variety of pastries and food items that I didn't try but looked so yummy! Definitely will be coming back! 100000/10 read more

drove 30 mins to come visit this shop, was super excited to try. first off shop is super small kinda feels like you're in the way anywhere you stand. I guess you can look past that tho if drinks are worth it. Cashier man was very welcoming and nice. Up until ordering place looked very promising. I saw some drinks coming out and they looked great! however when it came to my drinks. I'm not sure if the barista was new or what but I noticed she kept asking another barista for measurements of everything for the lattes! she looked unsure as she was making it and filled my cup almost full of ice! literally 3/4 of ice. I was watching her make it & I was just trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt. When it came to the cold foam. She squeezed the foam onto my first drink & it was like when you squeeze a ketchup bottle and it barely has any so it's just a little splat with some farting. that's what the foam bottle did. She dropped a little ball of foam onto one drink and then went to the next and did the same thing. I told her can you please put more & she just taps the bottle and does another little splat. I kid you not I has 2 little splats of foam. It bothered me because they have a ton of cold foam bottles there & if she didn't have anymore of the regular foam she could've said so I could change it to a different one. I saw how other baristas would make the foam on drinks and give a proper amount and it looked pretty! Nope not my drinks lol. After I asked her to put more and she didn't even say anything just proceeded to do another splat I just grabbed my drinks as she left them and walked out. Such a bummer I had this experience driving from not very close and not getting drinks that lived up to what the shop promises. read more

Second time visiting here and honestly very disappointed thinking it would change from the first time. drinks are amazing but they genuinely need to work on customer service and the way they handle drinks. first time i came here they messed up both my drinks by giving me the coffee versions and not the matcha and well yes they replaced them but left a bad first impression as it was their soft opening the weekend before actual opening. we went today june 16th, ordered one banana matcha and one redbull drink and one sandwich but left disappointed and upset this second time. my redbull drink and sandwich came out within 3 minutes of ordering, but i waited about 20 minutes for my matcha!! no communication or apology was made, only the cashier on hand noticed i had waited and i looked visibly upset and annoyed while i still treated the employees nicely. asked about my matcha and if it was there after seeing more then 10+ people getting their order and they had came after us, said it was being made but still waited another 10 minutes. after we received the matcha there was no apology or acknowledgement of this, the employee just walked away, also i asked for a straw and just went to grab it and rushed away, she was bothered by this request, its very upsetting even when one of management was there and nothing was said or acknowledged. shame. read more
