Ube royale, strawberry matcha, halo halo
    Rose G.

I've actually never been inside the Food Lab until I heard about Tasa on social media. At first glance, the aesthetics is super cute. Reminds me of a hometown cafe. The menu was easy to read and there's a good amount of options. Now, this is my first time and my first impression and we came on a Saturday afternoon (if that makes a difference)... I didn't get a very welcoming vibe from the cashier. As we approached, she didn't greet us, didn't smile, and didn't return my greeting when I smiled and said HI. So we didn't feel comfortable ordering but we came all this way and ordered anyways. We got the strawberry matcha, halo halo, and ube royale. We weren't too impressed with the matcha, the halo halo had too many beans, but the ube royale was soo good!!! I would say I'd like to come again just to buy that drink but its hard to want to come if we don't feel welcome. But three stars for the drinks!

    Strawberry fruit matcha

Been on a quest to find good matcha - this place was pretty good. If I were near by I'd stop again. I'd give this an 8/10 (I've had better but I've also had some not so great ones).

the girl running the cafe was super sweet and accommodating to our questions about each drink!! she also made them super quickly which was awesome :) i had the creamy barako with matcha cream and it was heavenly, would 100% buy again!!

ube cream matcha and strawberry matcha

drinks were pretty, but you can barely taste the matcha, they add way too much milk to their drinks and the ube foam was grainy and didn't really taste like ube. if you're coming for the aesthetics of the drinks, this is the place to go, but it's a no go on the matcha.

Their menu options are pretty cool. I was intrigued by their calamansi juices. It's pretty quick service. Overall pretty cool place.

I didn't want to enter any cafe very small/ with petite tables or judgement if I sat down for 1.5 hr to work on my computer. I bought a sausage croissant which was just ok, but still a nice quick breakfast item. I was able to sit in a comfy chair with an outlet source & table to conference in my meeting. I was left unbothered & comfortable the whole time, which I greatly appreciated. There are several lounge chairs, tables & areas to space out to work, read, lounge, etc! I would certainly return another day to try out their coffee menu and those earl grey lavender scones (wish I saw those first!!) The barista was kind & the atmosphere very pleasant!

SERVICE here is VERY BAD!…read more The service at Back to the Grind was genuinely one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I've had. While I was in the middle of placing my order, an older gentleman wearing glasses abruptly walked away from me mid-conversation to speak with someone he knew. No acknowledgment, no "I'll be right back," nothing. I was left standing there confused and waiting while they casually chatted amongst themselves. At the same time, my husband approached another employee -- a young woman with very long black hair and a pink bandana (see pic)-- simply to ask for the WiFi password. Without even looking at him, she told him he needed to "buy something first." When he explained that I was already ordering, she repeated herself in a dismissive tone and continued making sandwiches without making eye contact once. What stood out most wasn't just the lack of hospitality, but the overall attitude from multiple staff members. The environment felt cold, dismissive, and inconvenienced by customers being there at all. Ironically, the café advertises community classes like yoga and live meditation classes on the window, yet basic customer service and professionalism seem completely absent. The food itself was fine, which is why this review is specifically about the service experience. Even after how poorly we were treated, I still left a tip because I refuse to match that level of disrespect. Management seriously needs to address the customer service culture here. One rude interaction can happen anywhere -- but multiple employees displaying the same behavior reflects a larger issue.

I must say I was hesitant to go here for a few reasons (none of them great, to be honest). First, the name--I didn't get the connection between "arcade" and "coffee" (then again what does that matter). Second, the location: it's in an odd building that doesn't scream typical coffee shop, with restricted and unusual parking. After overcoming these nonsensical, self-created mental barriers, we walked inside and saw that this is a sophisticated operation with wonderful products, employees, and a truly unique experience. When we entered, we saw a very nice menu with pictures showcasing the drinks and highlighting what makes each one special. The barista was super casual and friendly. She asked over the counter if we had any questions and told us to let her know when we were ready. Her welcoming approach was perfect for first-time visitors. We ordered the Mango Sticky Rice matcha and the Cherry Glaze matcha. Both were delicious, and it was clear that quality is a major focus here. The matchas weren't overloaded with syrup like some places; instead, they tasted naturally infused--subtle, balanced, and perfect. For snacks, we tried the salmon bagel and the blueberry scone. Both were excellent. The bagel was fresh and packed with flavor, again showcasing quality ingredients. The scone was one of the best I've had from a coffee shop--it tasted like it came straight from a bakery. The blueberries were large and bursting with flavor, and the texture was ideal: not too hard, not too soft. It was just right. (They should name it "Goldilocks"!) In addition to coffee, matcha, and chai tea, they also offer craft sodas and other choices for any mood. We decided to enjoy our drinks and snacks inside. As we sat, we noticed they have their own bean-roasting machine (totally unique!). I've never seen one in person, but for coffee lovers who enjoy fresh roasts, this means they bring in green coffee beans, roast them on-site, and produce the freshest, highest-quality product possible. (You could say "they have the beans" -- a little Curb Your Enthusiasm reference for fans of the show.) Aside from having "the beans," they also had a projector showing the World Cup. There are plenty of seating options: tables with chairs, standing desks, sofas, and benches. We will definitely be returning to this little slice of heaven on Earth.

They have great doughnuts. My wife loves the cheese cake blueberry one. In fact today leah (forgive me if I spelt your name wrong) made one from scratch after I had said my wife loves them. I'm not even a big doughnut person and I can say they are really good. Better than any run of the mill yum yums or krispy kreme. There aren't many mom & pop stores like this in riverside and it's great to see places like this opening and staying in business like this for over 6 years now. I personally love their coffee! My go to is a caramel macchiato. My wife has worked in countless coffee shops & even she thinks it's great. The espresso they use is amazing. The place is really clean and has a very chic atmosphere. I wish i took pictures but it has a really nice outside patio area. And they even serve alcohol. There is to much to say so i'll stop here.

The guy at the front was nice and friendly! Super chill. We took out items and sat towards the side, under their large TV. He switched on the TV and ended up playing the World Cup game!! I had drank a nice and chilled Space Dust IPA from the tap and my partner had a Blue Moon. I was very delighted by their glazed donuts which were massive! For $6, it was bigger than our faces; I'm guessing x3 the size of a regular donut. I enjoyed it because it was sweet, doughy, and perfectly glazed. A twist of a donut shop, but for their variety of drinks, I don't mind it! Loved the experience. Thank you for having us!
