These people are so excellent! I didn't find anyone even close! I had to clone a 2 TB hard drive onto an 8 TB hard drive and Tomas over. There was excellent. These guys are definitely the best people I found in the last 20 years for our business and Woodland Hills. He charged me a flat fee for the cloning, about 120 bucks, and the people I was speaking to before one they charge me $60 per half hour! The cloning would've taken about 10 hours! I also didn't feel good about these first guys in my gut, I got the same kind of tentative answers that I was getting from the geek squad at Best Buy in. It had very mixed results with them. In contrast, Tomas was completely clear and upfront, I knew exactly what he was talking about, and felt completely confident giving over precious data for my business to be closed. the job is done easily and on time, and he went out of his way even to bring it by! Thomas is great! Seriously, he is thoughtful, knowledgable, fast, confidential and reasonable. I brought him two computers, he carefully did diagnostics on both, offered me several financial options for fixing them and proceeded to fix the one i was most concerned about. He responded to my initial query pretty immediately, I made an appointment and he was completely professional, getting back to me quickly and I came in just an hour or two later. One day later and my computer is working. The original quote was extremely reasonable. However, it ended up he would not take payment as he felt he did not actually fix the root problem - I now need to use an external keyboard after I damaged the laptop keyboard with liquid--but in my mind he did fix it ! Through thorough troubleshooting, they had discovered that the motherboard was not working on one side. They found a replacement that was completely compatible on EBay and replaced it. After installing a Microsoft Windows update, our computer crashed. I spent hours on the phone with Microsoft tech support, but to no avail. According to them, the only other option was to do a factory reset or reinstall the operating system. Both options would mean data loss. Enter Oaks Computers. I requested a quote from several different computer support companies through Yelp, and Tomas at Oaks was the first to respond, in just a few hours. Since I was eager to get the computer fixed, and the price was reasonable, I decided to bring in the unit the next day. Initially, I wanted to just remove the heard drive, but Jay at Oaks offered another solution to replace the hard drive, reinstall the operating systems, and add back my files. Over the past two months I have had numerous problems with my laptop. I called various services to no avail. Eventually, I ended up calling The Oaks Computers. I talked to Thomas, the owner. He told me to drop off my laptop and he'd have a look. I did, Friday late afternoon. Monday morning I saw a message giving me the diagnostic.(I didn't see it the day before) I gave him the go ahead with the proposal. Later that day I got a message to come pick it up first thing in the morning. My laptop now works perfectly, like brand-new. The price for the service was totally fair. At the time I also told him that I needed help with hard-wiring the Wi-Fi. He said he could come by to make an estimate and that it was free. I made an appointment. He came on time, checked out the environment and told me what was best to do. I just have to buy a couple of things. I didn't pay anything for him to come over. Last week my 2 year old Lenovo gaming PC took a dump right in the middle of World of Warcraft (side note: I can't recommend Lenovo). I've repaired my own PC's in the past when I knew what the problem was, but this was beyond my limited skills. I chose The Oaks due to the positive Yelp reviews, and I wasn't disappointed. As they are by appointment only, I met Thomas at his office the next day. He thought it might be a power problem, but said he would run a full diagnostic and let me know. Turned out the graphics card had fried (ouch), and the hard drive was failing was well. He gave me an estimate, but said if I didn't want to repair the PC the diagnostic was free. At this point I could have swapped parts myself, but his estimate was reasonable and I appreciated his honesty and professionalism. He said he could have it ready the next day, but had it done that afternoon. I am very pleased - the graphics card is a major upgrade, and the solid-state hard-drive he recommended is lightning fast. I had a 2010 Macbook Pro that was constantly crashing every two or three minutes. It was unusable. I brought it to "The Oaks Computers and Technical Support for repair. Turns out it had a bad capacitor on the motherboard and Apple wanted to replace the entire board for $$$. "The Oaks" isolated the component, removed and replaced it within two days as well as applying a heat sink material to prevent reoccurrence. My old MacBook Pro works as well as the day I bought it.
