Came here on a Monday after lunch and I was quite surprised how busy it was. The host said they were short staffed so there would be a 20 minutes. We got seated in about 20 in the event area due to having a large party. The food today was excellent. I saw a Monday special for meatball with spaghetti for 2 with a salad, drink and spumoni for only $25. What a deal. The rest of my party enjoyed all their orders, and in fact my mother in law swears she had the best shrimp salad here. Overall the food has always been good here, but gave 4 stars due to the service not as great with the slower than usual service. I am writing to formally document a very disappointing experience my family and I had while dining at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Rancho Mirage on Sunday, July 12, 2026. We were seated at Table 11/1, adjacent to the kitchen and directly facing the bar and POS station. At approximately 3:43 p.m., I was presented with our bill and handed our server two gift cards to apply toward the balance: * One gift card with a small remaining balance. * One brand-new, unused $25 gift card with the protective film. From our table, I had a clear view of the POS station and watched our server peel off the protective PIN covering from the unused $25 gift card. Shortly afterward, he returned and informed me that the card had a zero balance. This was shocking, as the card had never been used. I immediately questioned how an unused gift card could suddenly have no value. Because of where we were seated, we could clearly hear the sever discussing the issue with the manager on duty. It was evident that she was aware of the situation. Rather than coming to speak with me directly, the manager simply wrote an email address and phone number on a piece of paper and instructed the server to give it to me. I specifically asked to have the manager come to our table. She never did. Instead, the server took my American Express Platinum Card and processed the remaining balance of $83.38 before I had an opportunity to speak with a manager or have the issue investigated. My family remained seated until approximately 4:03 p.m., waiting for the manager to come to our table and address the situation. She never came. We ultimately left the restaurant feeling ignored, frustrated, and without any resolution. What concerns me most is not simply the missing $25, but the complete lack of customer service and accountability. read more

I've been to this restaurant, several times and in different locations. We went in on Fourth of July for dinner, and it was pretty busy. Forgot to make a reservation, but we were seated within 10 minutes. I love the decor! I did not like where they seated us. It was in the back by where they bring out the food, so our chairs kept getting bumped by the servers coming out. Our serve Brian was very nice, but wouldn't take our order unless my husband was sitting on the table, he was at the bar getting us a drink. And didn't give us an option of the ice cream that came with our meal. I was hoping for a vanilla. The food ... I had the chicken piccata. Very tasty, and the chicken was very juicy. My husband had a three meat spaghetti. Also a very good. My Apreol spritz was in a very small glass and very sweet, but tasty. Nice place to bring the family. read more

Great atmosphere especially their antique chandeliers. The servers are very nice and efficient. I had the chicken Marsala which was tender and delicious. The salad and warm French bread was very good! Desert included as well. Their house Chardonnay was also very good. We had 5 in our party and we could actually hear one another talk. I can't get over the way this dish was served to us. By the looks of it this resembles something. Food: It was alright. Complimentary bread was tough to cut. Felt like I needed a chainsaw to cut through it. I asked for a saucer to use for the oil and vinegar. The server gave a small plastic cup which was useless. Meat sauce was a bit salty. I had to scrape some out so I can eat it with the pasta. I asked for the light Mizithra Cheese & Browned Butter. The server asked if I wanted it on the side and I said yes. But when I got my dish it was not on the side and on top of the pasta. Meatball was dry and hard. I had way better. I have ordered from this location many times and always had good food. Last night I ordered the managers special for delivery. Half mushroom sauce over pasta and half Mizythra cheese with Brown butter. The mushroom sauce was watery tomato sauce with a couple of sliced mushrooms on top and the mizythra cheese had no brown butter. I took a few bites a threw it out. I've left three messages at the restaurant, and two emails and a phone call to corporate and no one has bothered to contact me. Came here after our hotel attendant told us it's his favorite, never been, so thought we'd try it out. My daughter said her spaghetti was good, I had lobster and crab raviolis, not bad not great. It was so so. We each had virgin mojitos that were super delicious, however, maybe a little less lime! Last night was hands-down the best meal I've ever had at The Old Spaghetti Factory, and I've been coming here for 10 years. Everything was absolutely spot on. Usually I have to ask for extra salad dressing or more sauce for my fettuccine Alfredo, but this time it was perfect as-is. The flavors, the portions, everything was just right. I frequent the Palm Desert The Old Spaghetti Factory, and I was highly disappointed by my most recent experience. I came early for a quick dinner and was served a subpar dining experience. It started out wonderfully-- warm baked bread and a delicious beverage, yet it only got worse with time. Was served a salad with welted lettuce, but moved past it as I get it sometimes things happen. Shortly after I got my plate in which the meal came out lukewarm. The flavor good, but who likes a cooled meal when they're paying that much? I would've quickly told our server, but he was gone for much of the dining experience-- not asking how the food was, not one refill was given, and was one of the most lackluster servers I've had this displeasure of having. Once he finally headed to my table I had brought the attention to what had occurred and was not expecting much, maybe my drink comped or at least a thoughtful visit from the manager to at least feel seen. Yet, that did not occur, and instead our server said the manager would give us a "next time coupon" and did not even come to our table to apologize or see what happened. I've worked in food service, and am not one to make a comment or complaint, but at some point you can't walk all over your patrons with lackluster service. Definitely will rethink attending this establishment again, really saddened by it too. read more

After witnessing this, It's very questionable how you got your position as general manager for The Old Spaghetti Factory. We sat for 2 hours just to get told Old Spaghetti Factory was out of spaghetti then wait and wait just to get over cooked noodles to only 2 family members while the other 3 still waiting for our meal, then to be given nasty attitude by Shawna. A party of 30 arrived and was not told there was no spaghetti?So I'm curious was I lied to about not having spaghetti or not? So disappointing. Horrific service especially for just a Tuesday and extreme attitude. I will never go to The Old Spaghetti factory again, not just this location in Rancho Mirage but all Old Spaghetti Factory's because of the treatment from Shawna Mauk. Came here for my birthday a few days ago. It was the worst Italian food I've ever had. Have you ever put noodles into a boiling pot, and then NOT stir them....and then they clump together and harden?!?!?! That's what was SERVED TO ME!!!! Like are you kidding me?! You whole restaurant is based on noodles and you served me ones that were NOT stirred in the pot and were HARD! I cannot believe any restaurant would let that leave the kitchen. That's not even to mention the minutes upon minutes we had to wait for hostess to show up when we walked in. Then even with an half empty restaurant and reservations, we still had to wait. We put into the reservations that we needed a booth only to be given a table. I thought this was supposed to be an upscale place, but boy was I wrong. We placed an online takeout order en route to the restaurant and waited out the remaining time in the parking lot. The website gave us a pick up time in 20 mins. My husband went in to pick up the order. After 20 mins of waiting in the car waiting for him, r, I went in to see what was taking the order so long. He was told "Five minutes and the order would be ready," but that 5 mins turned into 20 mins. So if you're following the math, it's been 40 mins now for an online takeout order. There didn't seem to be much empathy from the host at the stand. I asked for a manager because I wanted to request the order just be canceled and a refund issued, much to my husband's dismay as we had already invested time in this wait. We didn't get the manager. Instead another woman came out who told us her manager wasn't back until tomorrow and they were unable to process an online order refund because "that's just how their system works." In this day and age of technology a bit unbelievable, but what else could I do? She then proceeded to tell us again, the food was almost ready and it would be out "shortly." She promised that her manager would contact me tomorrow and could potentially give us coupons for a future visit, etc. I went back to the car while my husband waited. Another 15 mins had passed and still no sign of food. I went back in and expressed my frustration as we were nearing an hour wait time for this takeout order. It felt like it fell on deaf ears with the hostess at the stand. Finally another woman walked up, Allie, and she went to the kitchen to check on our order. By this time we were past the hour mark and after another 5 mins, she finally came out with our food. Allie did apologize and advised that they were short staffed. While I appreciate this is a true reality in today's restaurant economy, I just wished this was better communicated at the onset. Managing a customer's expectation is huge for me, and if you are up front with a wait time, then it will be a better outcome for both sides. At any rate, we finally left there with our order and a bunch of hangry kids who managed to wait patiently for their meals. I tried to let our server know, but never came around during our meal. My daughter's chicken parmigiana was rubbery and inedible. When our server finally came around, we were finished with our meal. I have been into the restaurant twice in the last couple of weeks and both times had to stand inside the front door to wait for a hostess to seat us. Then we finally get seated and waited for the waitress. We ordered soup and salad, sat there and sat there, then they bring them both out at the same time. The chicken Parmesan and spaghetti were cooked perfectly; the chicken was juicy and full of flavor and the pasta was cooked perfectly, al dente.
