The rooms are beautifully designed -- clean, modern, and super comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen! We loved waking up to the patio with the water views a few feet away. The on-site food truck, Maizeat, is a total standout -- the food was fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious. Great bonus: a free light breakfast every morning! The location is ideal -- just minutes from Greenport and other charming North Fork towns. The property is kid- and pet-friendly, with a relaxed, welcoming vibe and amazing service from start to finish. Between the stunning sunsets, cozy outdoor spaces, and the convenience of docking your boat right there, The Shoals offers a truly unique and memorable experience. Already planning our return!

Including guests fighting, domestic violence and barking dogs. You will get ZERO relaxation and the staff rolls their eyes when you complain about it. To say the experience was horrible is an understatement. And for $1800 for 2 nights they don't even have a pool or a restaurant or a beach or anything. Just a food truck. I don't know how this place stays in business honestly. I complained to the manager multiple times while we were there to please move our room because the people above us are purposely stomping on the floor to ruin our weekend and they were very nasty about it and unsympathetic. They said we're full and can't move you. I complained I wanted a refund and they sent a big pre written email that was clearly written by their lawyers to avoid having to issue anyone refunds. And as per their horrible reviews I'm not the first person to complain about their paper thin walls and ceilings and I definitely won't be the last. That's why they have a professional letter from their lawyer to avoid any refunds. And their tates cookies in the room for $18 are actually $4. I found the exact ones in stop and shop for $4. What a scam. Would not recommend this "boutique" hotel at all. Go to Greenport and stay at Harbor Front Inn for a positive experience you will feel good about.

My wife spotted this rustic looking facility, so I turned in and immediately got a good feeling about it. The owner greeted us and made us feel entirely welcome. We sat down and looked at the tasting choices and had a fairly easy time filling up our dance card with 5 selections. We had the place to ourselves at first, and spent time getting to know Perry, a woman whose family has owned the operation since 1974. She said most of the buildings date back from the mid 1859s. Entertainment was also provided by 20 chickens (17 hens and 3 roosters). The wines were wonderful and lovingly explained by Perry. We left with a red and a white, and a feeling that this had been a very special hour.

The vineyard is beautiful, peaceful, and well kept, with open views and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind and enjoy your surroundings. It feels calm and welcoming without being crowded or overwhelming. The service was good throughout our visit. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful when it came to explaining the wines and guiding tastings. Everything felt organized and unhurried, which allowed us to really take our time and enjoy the experience. They were attentive when needed but also gave plenty of space, which added to the laid back vibe. The wine was pretty good overall. There was a nice variety available, and while not every wine stood out, several were enjoyable and well balanced. The quality matched the relaxed setting and made for a pleasant tasting. It is the kind of wine you can easily enjoy while sitting outside and taking in the scenery. Overall Old Field Vineyard offers good service, great ambience, and pretty good wine in a lovely setting. It may not be the most standout vineyard on the North Fork, but it is absolutely worth a visit if you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable wine tasting experience. A strong four star destination.

Step inside, though, and boom--you're transported into an elegant, beautifully designed dining room that feels straight out of a Michelin dream. We waited a bit for our table, but they handed us complimentary champagne, so... patience restored. The $125 prix-fixe menu was worth every bite. Picking a favorite course feels like choosing between yourbfavorite child . The milk bread, oysters, and baked clams were standouts. That celery vinaigrette on the oysters was next level. The agnolotti pasta was unforgettable. I had the baked chicken entrée and discovered a new obsession with turnip cakes. Who knew? Dessert sealed the deal: molten chocolate cake and passion fruit panna cotta. An absolutely perfect mic drop to end the meal. If I had to nitpick, the drink prices lean toward Manhattan territory. But overall, I'm a huge fan and rooting hard for this spot. If you're anywhere near Greenport or Southold, do yourself a favor and book it.

Miss the good old days when restaurants used to give you free stuff. But the ambience is still nice, food is great n service courteous. That's why we keep coming back.
