Ambiance - The Old Water Office is beautifully decorated with a nice interior and a pretty outdoor area too. We sat outdoors and thankfully the weather was kind to us too. This place can accommodate large groups, parties, or just a date night for two. Service - The service was great! Friendly staff and they kept on top of everything. No complaints here. Food - The food was great. I got the surf and turf paella which was very good. For some reason mine did not have mussels like the menu stated, unsure if that was an oversight or maybe just a slight modification from the chef. Everyone else seemed to really like their food too. Short ribs got high praise along with the pork milanese. Their pasta is made in-house and looked wonderful too. All things considered, I'd give this meal a solid 4.5 stars which rounds up with the ambiance and service being great. I'd definitely recommend checking it out. read more

The Old Water Office in Patterson is absolutely worth the drive -- seriously, make the trip... you won't be disappointed! The space itself is stunning, inside and out. Being part of the original building makes it even cooler, and you can really feel the care the owners put into every detail. The family artwork throughout the restaurant and the personal touches everywhere had me obsessed. The outdoor area and new event center are beautiful -- I already can't wait to come back when the weather warms up! We made a reservation (highly recommend) and were seated promptly. Our server, Jaden, was amazing -- attentive, knowledgeable, and very familiar with the menu. Top-tier service all around. Now let's talk food... because WOW. First off, the wine selection is excellent. We started with the lamb lollipops, cooked perfectly -- tender, juicy, and paired with a yogurt dill sauce that was incredible. We also shared the chargrilled octopus, which was beautifully grilled and packed with flavor. For our main, we ordered one of the specials: Chilean sea bass with black imperial rice, romanesco, and a saffron citrus cream sauce. It was almost too pretty to eat -- but even better tasting. Dinner here is consistently great. I enjoy the inside ambience but I really love the patio. Even when it's cold outside, dining near the fire is comfortable and such a vibe. My husband and I ate dinner this past Saturday night at TOWO (8/22). We have been many times and feel the chef and staff do a great job making sure the experience equals a white tablecloth restaurant. I gave just a one star rating not because the food or service was below par as we enjoyed our food and the waitstaff was very attentive. Our issue concerned what we feel was a deceitful practice. When taking our order the waiter explained the specials that night: 3 seafood dishes and 1 12oz bone in filet. Initially I had planned to order a pasta but the filet sounded good to me, so that's what I ordered. It was delicious. When the tab came we thought there might have been a mistake with the cost of my filet which was $165. We asked, but told that was correct. Here is where the deceitful part comes to play-- there was no printed special menu with the price of each entree nor did the waiter let us know verbally the cost. There's a chance I still would have ordered the special at that cost because it came with a nice array of veggies and sauce. Or, I would have gone with my original pasta choice. Maybe I should have asked the cost(?) but decided it is up to the establishment to be forthcoming with prices. We are not novices in eating out. I am a foodie and have enjoyed dining out all over California and beyond for years. I cannot think of a time when we felt a little scammed. The issue is not the money, it's the idea that the TOWO did not present the cost of the specials purposely and to me that is dishonest. Come on! TOWO is the only high end game in town and I'd like to see it stay open. But pulling sneaky gimmicks like this leave a bad taste in customers mouths. Don't play games, play right. PS: I did search lots of well known Bay Area and Monterey/carmel restaurants for comparison on the same 12oz bone-in filet and none were more than $100. Finally was able to take a Saturday evening off to dine at The Old Water Office and it did not disappoint! The service was on point. Friendly and had great recommendations. The restaurant layout and ambiance was well thought out from the napkin fold, table lighting, oversized wine glasses and decor. Food was delicious! Every dish was devine! From the moment we walked in I was reminded of our trip to Sevilla Spain last year. Beautiful!! The bar had me wanting to scrap the table and belly up ! We started with the grilled octopus .. one of the best I've tried. From Spain to Mexico this could go head to head ! Well done We had a half beet and Burrata salad. Delicious. Both had the rib eye, with probably the best au gratin potatoes I've ever had. And my wife's used to be my favorite! Cheesy spinach as our side. Could have used some salt, but that's just me. The decor and atmosphere is soooo cool! There is so much to look at. Everything is intricate with such attention to detail. Our server was very kind, attentive, and prompt. I think is a great restaurant! Just what Patterson needs. I had the spaghetti Carbonara. It was good! We also had clam chowder, Halibut, lamb lollipops, and a paella, and a couple of drinks. I really enjoyed the guava panna cotta at the end. No complaints, we thought the food was flavorful. We were sitting outside and it got a little chilly, the servers were kind and let us move inside. First off, you walk into this elegant place designed and decorated so beautifully. We had a party of 10 so we had the back room area. Very spacious. The owner/s / management were so nice greeted us with warm welcome. And our waiter was great i wished I would've gotten his name but super attentive the best customer service!! And the FOOD. THE FOOD WAS ALL SO DELICIOUS full of flavor and most definitely fresh ingredients! Didnt get to take pics of all the food :/ The drinks were amazing! Great list to choose from. My little family and I visited this past Sunday for dinner. Service was amazing. I unfortunately did not catch her name but she was very attentive and super sweet. The owner came and said hello to us and made sure we were doing okay. Appetizers- Lamb Lollipops 1000/10 (Our almost 1 year old LOVED it. He's the real food critic here) Meatballs 100/10 Short ribs: 7/10 Spaghetti Carbonara: 8.5/10 Short ribs were good considering I am usually a person who doesn't like short ribs because they're usually overcooked but it was perfectly cooked. I must say I am very thrilled this place opened up so close to us. The whole restaurant is gorgeous and very inviting. The ONLY bone I have to pick is the fact that the women's restroom did not have a changing table for the littles. Now that I have a baby I tend to notice more when places don't have them. The service was absolutely elite Nikki. Our waiter was well knowledge on the menu and made it very comfortable for us to sit and read. I asked for her recommendations and she gave us her best opinion and they were great hands-down great service all around she was very attentive and also was very pleasant to be around. It's always nice when you see people that are great at what they do for a living in love where they work it makes it splendid place to be all around. There's a lot of things to like and there's things that weren't so great. The ambience is beautiful. They had a man playing the guitar and singing and that was nice. The building is beautiful. My friends sausage flatbread was delicious. But I got the chicken parmesan. And the chicken itself is huge and it's cooked perfectly and it's very crispy. And when I say it's huge it's the size of the plate and the plate is huge. But it's on this giant bed of the worst noodles. I think it's bucatini? So the noodles are really really thick. And for noodle that big you need good flavor in the sauce. And I feel like the sauce had very little flavor and very little sauce. It was like eating chicken parmesan on a bed of just noodles. I think it would have been better paired with a lighter noodle. There was almost no tomato sauce on the chicken parmesan and then the noodles had a cream sauce. I thought it would have been okay if the noodles aren't so dry or Bland. It's a giant piece of chicken it really is! The breading is great. It's just the noodles and the sauce fell short of flavorful. Which made it not worth it to me. It's good if you just want to eat the chicken off the top of it but if you want a full meal it misses the mark. I took it home put some sauce on the noodles it was great. But do you really want your customers to have to do that? I would like to sit down and say that was great. I would go there again and get that flatbread but I would not go back for the chicken parmesan. read more

Having grown up here I am so happy to see we finally have some fine dining. The restaurant is beautiful, peaceful and fun at the same time. Service was friendly and prompt despite it being a Saturday night and busy. We really enjoyed the short rib. We will go back for that. It was fantastic. We also enjoyed the bread pudding and Affogato. The Porchetta appetizer was good but not something I would feel compelled to order again. The Paella Mar y Montaña came out quickly (menu says 45 min wait but it is much quicker, maybe 20 minutes) but we were not fans. We have never had Paella before so it is very possible it is really good to someone who enjoys Paella. Overall, super satisfied and plan to come back. read more

The experience did not disappoint. The infamous Redwood Cafe from Modesto(that is in the process of relocating to Lathrop) opened this location in Patterson. The food, selection, perfection and service were amazing. The grounds are perfect with summer around the corner and if dining outside doesn't interest you the ambience inside is warm and environs.
