The food was dry and cold. I had been once before and the food was very good. However, we were very disappointed and will not return.

Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly woman and asked where I wanted to be seated. The server came and was very friendly as well. I decided to order the crab pretzel. The pretzel was decent. I did not like the cheese. I felt like it took away from the taste of the crab. My partner ordered other delicacies and were very satisfied with their food. OPI certainly knows how to use their deep fryer. Fried pickles for start - so perfectly crunchy. I tend to prefer pickle chips to spears, as spears tend to remain cold in the center. OPI uses chips so they're hot all the way through when they come to the table. Ranch for dipping. My boyfriend had the boom boom shrimp and WOW. Sure the presentation is nothing spectacular but this is a bar, not a fine dining experience. The shrimp were crispy and the sauce is glorious. Next time we go I am definitely getting the boom boom shrimp tacos. As entrees, my mother and boyfriend both got cheesesteaks, though my mother opted for the chicken version (and fries). They were underwhelmed. My mother's sandwich didn't come with the tomato or onion that was listed on the menu, but I think the cook may have been confused as she special ordered cucumbers (not pickles, but plain cucumbers, like this was Subway or some such) on it. Who does that? I got the Honey Sriracha wings (Perfect combo of heat & sweet, most popular hot sauce in the country) - again, fried so the skin had that fantastic crisp, every inch covered with sauce. Would recommend. We were impressed enough that it was agreed upon that we will return. I like that the restaurant is White Marsh adjacent, close enough to shopping but you don't have to worry about finding parking and the restaurant isn't packed. We were there on a day where there was supposed to be live music. Went there on a recent Saturday to hear a favorite band. Everything was great! Good food, fair prices, and excellent service. Our party had the crispy chicken sandwich (crispy as advertised) , the reuben sandwich (tender corned beef) and the Philly cheeseburger (a big hit, topped with sauteed onions, mushrooms and peppers). A generous side of crisp, not greasy, fries. Creamy coleslaw. Everyone on staff was friendly, and our waiter was extremely attentive, checking in with us at regular intervals. No delay in getting food or drinks and refills. The place was very clean. We experienced none of the difficulties other reviewers encountered. In fact, they seemed to have extra staff on this night. Would definitely make the trip around the beltway again to hear a good band, dance and enjoy a solid meal. read more

We went to see the band Code Red, which is a very good local band. We ordered our drinks about 15 minutes before the band started and didn't get them until they were halfway finished there first set. Now that's only because I went up to the bar to get them myself. The bartenders don't care about the people that are seated in the dining room or lounge area, they're only worried about the ones seating at the bar because they are the ones that tip them. The waitresses have to suffer because of their poor service. Tickets are sent to the bar and they over look them. We go there for the bands. The service has never been good always stating they are short a server. last night, it was horrible. waited an hour for our drinks. Went to the bar and waited 20 minutes to even be acknowledged. Waited even longer for meals. You could see the overall irritation with other patrons. Too irritated to stay and enjoy a band we love. Visited OPI for the first time. I was excited to try some of Maryland's famous dishes! I ordered the crab cake , crab soup , and crab egg rolls. Unfortunately the food left me feeling cheated out of the Maryland foodie experience . The crab on all my plates did not taste fresh. I was excited to try the famous crab cakes and sadly they were not fresh and flavorless. The eggroll was very oily. The soup was good in flavor but did not have anything special about it. My meal tasted microwaved which was very disappointing. Service was decent, our server was very friendly but lacked menu knowledge. My bathroom experience was by far any better , the smell and flies in there were awful . Maybe I caught the diner on a rough week because the place was empty and very quiet on this weekday evening. We visited on a Mon afternoon for a late lunch, seating was immediate and drink orders were fast. Now for the food: The Homemade soups sounded good, we both had the French Onion, it was delightful. The broth was good and in it was soft onions and semi-cooked sweet onions, this created a good mouth feel-the contrast really worked well. The top was a layer of browned cheese that dripped down the crock. Perfect. My husband ordered the shrimp salad sandwich with a potato salad side, it was fresh and very good, seasoned just right for him. I ordered the Boom Boom Shrimp, a starter, it came out with an awful presentation...10 shrimp spread out on a single lettuce leaf, spread like someone took a spatula to cake frosting, the first stroke of it. Ok, lets eat it, they were over-cooked tough with an unpleasant crispness on the edges. Definitely not a place for me. First it's located in a shopping strip where most stores have closed down. The restaurant itself was pretty empty when we walked in so could sit pretty much anywhere. Now the food is eeh... this place was great about 15 yrs ago or more but has definitely declined! I ordered the pit ham on pretzel bun with cheddar cheese and sweet potato fries (99cent-extra). The "pit ham" was actually like deli meat with shredded cheddar cheese sprinkled on top and heated up. It was gross and had to be sent back. Complete disappointment as this could have been a great meal with real shaved pit ham and a nice slice of cheddar cheese on the pretzel bun. I've had better "pit ham " from my local deli. I could have made this meal in a few min at home using my microwave! Fortunately the waitress Stacey came back and asked how the meal was & after my feedback about how horrible it was she offered me something else Reluctantly I ordered the shrimp salad and kept the sweet potato fries (which my husband ate). I can say the shrimp salad was decent. I'm a seafood lover and this shrimp salad is only mediocre. The restrooms were not clean yet had a stench of some cleaning fluid. The only thing this place has going for it was the service. We had a great waitress-Stacey-who let us sit wherever we wanted. She promptly brought our drinks and took our order. When I had to return my 1st dish she was friendly and helpful. Thank you Stacey. She is the only reason this place gets even 1 star! Otherwise I would give 0! I enjoy OPI. Yes, the prices are a little elevated in my opinion. But, the food it good, the drinks are cold and the most importantly it's got a great atmosphere. If you're expecting 5 star service then maybe you should drink and eat elsewhere. If you have the expectations that come with bar service, you'll enjoy yourself. My favorite is the cheese steak or the crab pretzel :) the crushes are also very good. read more

My date planned this for the live music , which was good. Service was absolutely horrible!! We waited for everything. Drinks ; refills ... the "meal" took over an hour. We ordered a chicken salad and a bowl of cream of crab. OVER AN HOUR!! Food was even worse! My cream of crab was barely warm! It was on the colder side. I was so fed up I got tired of complaining. Her salad was ordered Blackened Chicken. Chicken was NOT blackened. All I could see was lettuce and croutons. Pathetic. It was so bad she sent it back and neither of us ordered anything else. I went to the bar to get refills because our server was so bad. It was my first time there and I'll never return. Just a pathetic excuse for a restaurant. I don't go on here and take my personal time to do reviews unless it's worthy of a raving review , or to expose a terrible place. I hope this saves others from wasting their hard earned money. if I could have given no stars I would, horrible service, my son and I had ordered chicken wings and fish tacos, first off, it took at least 45 min for our food to arrive at the table and when it did it was cold. food was horrible, cold, tasteless freezer-fried fish for tacos a lot of breading no fish, something you would expect from a corner sub shop, my son's wings were cold look like it needed more cooking, we did not finish our meal we left out of there. We went for early dinner 3:30 on a Monday 2 couples seated and a single table so no not busy . Appetizers were costly and not worth the money ordered the crab toast . Two pieces were $11 and bread was not toasted.. nothing great .. as for the meals overpriced . And lots a fillers . Roast beef w/ gravy consisted off 4 slices of bread with roast beef and gravy on top .. too much bread. Potato salad was horrible and couldn't eat .. the liver and onions was ok but for $16 I expected better.. and they add a service fee of 18% attached to the bill ! which is high. The waitress was MIA for never took dirty dishes from the table and we had to eat around them ,. And getting boxes and check was a wait .. her service would not have been worth 18% but if built in your check they don't have to do anything special to be guaranteed a good tip . Visiting from out of town. Giving this place a 2 is generous. Waitress was nice. We ordered the imperial crab toast. It was basically crab dip placed on bread wedges with imperial sauce placed under the broiler. The crab was still Cold. I had the Rueben it really did not have much flavor. Red potato salad had no seasoning at all. My brother had the haddock. He stated it had a fishy smell, which meant it was frozen 6 months ago. Prices are to high for the quality you are getting. Can I give this place negative stars? Absolutely disastrous food and service. The waitress wasn't rude but she was clueless. Pretty sure first day waitressing w zero training. Left my seat three times to check on her/where are our drinks/food?? as we were the only table in the dining room and the bar wasn't busy. After receiving my crab sandwich sans the requested sauce and asking for it three times - while the waitress was cleaning tables and prepping tables for the next day - she said, "oh yeah I'll check on that. It takes a while 'cause there's eggs and stuff in it." I pointed out that my sandwich was already cold. She replied, "oh yeah." I asked her if she had any suggestions about what to do...I thought maybe a new sandwich? After flailing a bit, she thought taking my plate - fries & all - back to the warmer "where everything under it stays nice and toasty" was a good idea. 15 minutes later, I rec'd the same sandwich and fries - cold - back w the tablespoon of boiling 'sauce'. When the bill showed up w the sandwich full price, I was ready to have a long talk w the manager. My husband however felt like we should just go and never return. read more

It's comfy, there's Keno, you can sit in the bar, just outside of the bar or in the dining room. I recommend you keep it simple -- beer, crab pretzel, wings (redneck are great), or maybe take advantage of a special. If you're looking for high end dining or fancy entrees, go somewhere else. If you're cool with friendly service (sometimes a little slow), a quiet bar type atmosphere, and a simple bite to eat, OPI will do the trick. read more

I ordered a crabcake sandwich and didn't receive any type of bread for the crabcake . I ordered gravy fries and received no gravy. The Cajun and Shrimp Alfredo was terrible . The sauce had zero flavor. Ordered the crab pretzel and the pretzel was not cooked enough, still cold in the center. The actual crabcake itself was ok but still very wet in the inside. Ordered a Chesapeake Burger and the crab dip was no where to be found but the bun for burger was burnt on the top and bottom. The best thing was the garden salad with ranch dressing! The food was not cheap by any means and I am very disappointed with the quality of the food we received for the amount of money we spent. Bar food at its worst, and please don't go for the higher priced items you'll be so disappointed. Salads are served on some cute small rectangular shallow glass tray - ridiculous. Not the place for steak or prime rib or any decent cuts of meat, possibly last in that category. It's all frozen anyway. Stay safe and go burger. Not that they are great but safe. I have no idea how this dump got a 2 1/2 star rating! I just stopped in there tonight around 5:45. I sat at the bar, which was not at all busy. In about 2-3 minutes one of the barmaids (both of which had about 5 lbs of mascara on them) asked me what I wanted to drink. I ordered a shot and a beer as I pulled a menu in front of me. I got my drinks, and for more than 30 minutes sipped my beer and bourbon. Not once was I asked if I wanted to order food, even though I was looking at a menu the entire time I was there! After being there over 35 minutes I finished my drink, paid my tab and left, what I felt was a generous $.45 tip. Never ever going back to this shit hole! read more

I will say this place has been there for years and in the area is becoming more developed and the shopping center definitely has a face lift. OPI still has some of the best burgers I have had in a long time and again they didn't disappoint! The bacon burger was delicious and cooked perfectly medium-rare and the potato salad was delicious just needed a little salt. We also got the Oldbay Buffalo wings ! The wings were cook very well , crispy and juicy. The sauce made it , this wasn't your average mild sauce mixed with some old bay , this was well made and built sauce. it has chipotle notes and spice from the old bay but still had that Buffalo taste. The only reason I wouldn't give more than 3 stars is bc the service was lack luster 3-4 bartender/servers and felt like sitting at a table was a annoyance to them to walk over . They all disappeared multiple times and just really cared more about the regulars at the bar instead of a table of 3 buying drinks , apps and 3 meals . They also had a band that was extremely loud for the amount of ppl or lack there of ppl in the establishment. read more

Upon first entering it was very dark and hardly anyone was there. A few old people. It was kind of depressing. The owner was nice, and other staff members seemed very friendly and helpful to customers but our waitress seemed to not be in the mood to be that way which brought down the overall experience. Instead of putting us in the dining area they sit us right next to the kitchen and bathrooms near the bar...ew! They should have asked us where we wanted to sit with a near empty restaurant. Service was quick since we were litterally right where the kitchen was, but like I said our waitress didn't seem very helpful, just wanted to sling out the food as soon as possible and get us out. My Raspberry iced tea was very watered down. As far as the food, it was fantastic. I ordered the penne pasta with shrimp. There were a lot of shrimp although small. They had a great spiciness to them too. The pasta portion size was huge and had a ton of cheese on it. The dish also come with a good sized Caesar salad which was delicious and two big slices of garlic bread which tasted amazing. I was so stuffed by the end of the meal, anywhere else and you'd have to order more than just your main dish. it ended up being $21 with my drink and tip which considering how much food I got both in portion size and sides was a great deal All pasta dishes have this same deal so if you eat here go for the pasta! Overall... The positive.... fantastic food, portion size, and price. The negative...poor seating, drinks, and customer service if you don't get one of the nicer people that work there. Could have been a 5 star rating, but suffered a 2 star loss from the negatives in which I hold as important. This place is great. If you are looking for a traditional Baltimore local restaurant, this is it! A little bit of everything on the menu, nightly food specials, and (for the most part) a great staff. That's the only reason I didn't give it five stars: a few of the employees have that typical server/bartender "chip" on their shoulder. Kim, Michelle, and Chris behind the bar are great! Get your shit straight. If your staff advertises and says certain appetizers are $5 then honor that. Also, don't charge certain people $5 for mozzarella sticks and then refuse to charge other members of the party the same $5. Horrible. I was incredibly, terribly disappointed when it came to this restaurant. My first indication should have been when on a Saturday night at 7:30 that this place was as dead as a door nail. I ordered the country fried steak and my husband the shrimp salad. Mine came with two sides and I chose salad and mashed potatoes. He chose potato salad. He also ordered cream of crab soup. My salad was warm, as was the dressing. It was literally a ton of iceberg lettuce with 2 grape tomatoes and 2 cucumbers. His soup was cold and bland. His shrimp salad wasn't terrible, they could have toasted his kaiser roll, but otherwise it was ok. His potato salad was, you guessed it, warm. Too bad, because the flavor had potential. I received a massive plate of white pepper gravy that tasted like chalk. The steak beneath was actually crispy and cooked perfectly, but unfortunately I sent it back. I couldn't get past the nasty gravy. By this point, my husband had already finished his sandwich, so I made due with just ordering dessert. The apple pie was more of a tart, but it was the best thing I had there. It wasn't enough to drive me here in and of itself, but it saved the place from a 1 star. Our server was very apologetic, and admitted that she'd never had the gravy herself. After tasting it, she agreed that it left much to be desired. It seems like this place has been around for many many years and has a following of older locals. I think a revamp of the menu and a new chef could do it wonders. The crab cake special on Wed. 7-10-2019. Take out order with pick up for food in the bar. The bar was very clean and neat. Had a beer while I waited. My food was ready before I finished my beer. OMG One of the best crab cakes ever. No shells found, large cake and made with lump meat. Will be back again when they offer this special. Also ordered a cheese burger.
