I recently had the great good fortune of visiting The Olive Press as an introduction to the Wine Country for family vacationing from the Midwest, and I can't say enough good things about our experience. From the beautiful Tuscan-like setting to the warm and friendly embrace of staff, our time there was an unfolding of one marvel after another. Who knew there were so many delicious ways to enjoy olive oil? The exquisite nuances of the oil's properties revealed themselves in the various tastings offered by our knowledgeable guide, Michael, and we were left with a much broadened palate and a deepened appreciation for the role of olive oil in the culinary world. We followed our olive immersion with a visit to the wonderful Jacuzzi family winery next door for a fun and educational tour through the various wines produced here. Our tasting took place in the beautiful inner courtyard of the winery, and we felt pampered by the attentiveness of our expert wine guide, Britton, who led us through delicious samples available on their tasting "menu". We swirled, tasted, and downed some amazing wines, and each of us found some top favorites to take home. To say our visit was heartwarming, welcoming, and highly educational would be an understatement. I love this place for olive oil and vinaigrette. My favorite is koroneiki and peach combination and mission and pomegranate combo. We came by this place during our 2010 wine trip and been coming here religiously every year. We've been club members for a while until we ended up with so much olive oil and had to stop shipment. Yesterday I was surprised to see that they started carrying truffle oil and truffle salt. I bought $90 worth of salts and a bottle of white truffle oil. I was very excited to take it home. Little did I know that the salts are not an Olive Press product but a resell from another company. The 100 grams of truffle salt that I bought for $27.95 plus tax at this place is actually only $20 on amazon, by casina rossa (the manufacturer). The salt sampler that is sold for $29.95 at this place is also available on amazon. I could've saved my luggage space for something else.. Even with the disappointment, I would still love to come by here every wine tasting weekend for oil and vinaigrette. I just wont buy the salts anymore though. read more

An amazing gem in the middle of Sonoma County. We were blown away with the number of flavors, they were all fresh and unique. They cut up little pieces of bread to dip and also had a lot of spices that went well with the oil. The staff was even more amazing. The retail manager Michael was the best. Don't miss this place. Once for an olive oil tasting and the second time to buy more supplies at the store (all done according to COVID-19 health and safety regulations). From olive oils & balsamic vinegars to cook books and other gourmet goodies, this really is a terrific spot to do your holiday shopping for the gourmands in your life. There's plenty of free sampling to do. And the staff is very welcoming and knowledgable. It's hard to not to come in here and drop at least $50 on some olive-themed goodness. Last time I was there, I picked up a bottle of Limonato olive oil & fig balsamic vinaigrette for $25. It's wonderful for salads and marinating vegetables + chicken. What a great surprise for visitors to Jacuzzi Family Vineyards! If you head into what looks like a standard gift shop, you'll be treated to a plethora of high quality olive oils at their tasting bar to slurp and cough over to your heart's delight! Use a separate cup for each oil (don't worry ... they recycle the tiny cups for their tastings) because the subtle differences between each oil will get lost otherwise. Don't forget to try the fabulous olive oil products (soaps, lotions, sauces) and to check out the informative video that shows you how they make olive oil. This is really a great place to stop if you are traveling with non-drinkers or children who are looking for a fun tasting experience of their own. read more

I've been here a couple of times before, trying a taste of a few of the olive oils. I had never purchased anything though. I would have rated them a 3 star "a-ok" experience. Then last week, I took my friend to Jacuzzi winery and we walked over to the Olive Press. Well, what a difference a fantastic, fun, friendly employee can make! (I really wish I had gotten her name... she was great!) There must have been a look about us (or maybe it's just the best sales approach ever and she does it to everyone) because the saleslady leaned in to us from behind the counter and said, "Would you like to taste olive oil like a professional?" Us: Ummmm, YES! We would like that very much. She proceeded to guide us through tasting the various olive oils and let me tell you, tasting them with our new found skill set made a huge difference. The flavors really popped! Then, she asks us if we want to have more fun with the oils. Us: Umm, YES! Definitely, please continue to hook us up. So our enthusiastic friend brings out these little brown bottles with eyedroppers and then directs us to certain olive oils and she then drops balsamic vinegar into each of our little cups. We then sampled and proceeded to have our culinary taste buds seriously expanded. I think one of the reasons why it was so much fun was that she was sampling right along with us. It was akin to a bartender throwing back a shot right along with you, which is more fun than having them just stand there and watch you imbibe. Needless to say, this time, I did not leave empty handed. I bought a bottle of their olive oil and two bottles of their balsamic, one peach and one strawberry. read more

They've moved out of their original shop in Glen Ellen to one side of the Jacuzzi Winery tasting room. They have TONS of tastings and great olive oils, vinegars, tapenades, and other sauces to purchase. My favorite is definitely the black currant balsamic vinegar but they have lots of others. They even make olive oil ice cream!!! And you can taste it! If you spend over $75 they will ship for free for you and you don't have to pay tax so that's a pretty solid deal. read more

Neither of us were certain but when we turned into the parking lot for The Olive Press, we realized the wedding had been on the same property, at the Jacuzzi Winery. Random. After tasting several oils, balsamics and spreads, I walked out with the jalapeno olive oil, peach balsamic, wasabi meyer lemom spread and an artichoke lemon spread. Mom and I came here for the olive oil, not the wine (they are attached) A little pricey, but where else can you find olive oil that tastes this fresh? (Italy I think, one of the few places). Also they do offer a military discount. Mom and I sampled most of their flavors, and the girl helping us was very patient and didn't try to pressure or rush us. She also knew a lot about the oils, and made recommendations based on what our flavor preferences were. Eventually I found 'the one' and even though it cost more than I expected for a small bottle, I know I will enjoy it for the short time that we are together. Olive oil tasting was never so fun and informative! As we learned how to taste the pure oils, we discovered the varied complexities of each: amazing. Michael kept it fun and interesting as he later showed us the workings of the press. The day we were there, the press was filled with fresh basil and the aroma was delicious. This was my favorite tasting in Sonoma! and it was for Olive Oil! I don't cook at all so I didn't buy anything -- but I still really enjoyed it. They have 10 or so oils to try and it was awesome trying them out back to back. I like bitter oils apparently. They had some interesting infused flavors including blood orange and lemon -- which we tried with balsamic vinegar that was tasty. If you ask nicely, they also have some nice flavored vinegars. Strawberry & Fig were memorable. It was a lot of fun and I am super happy we came here! read more

Wow, when they tell you something has a certain flavour, they really mean it. I tried the strawberry balsamic and cranberry balsamic and they really taste like strawberry and cranberry. Le boyfriend fell in love with the lemon olive oil and I fell in love with the cranberry balsamic. Too bad everything here is quite pricey and we have a heavy suitcase to think of so we could only get the smaller bottles. Oh well, we'll have to come back to California again asap! I also love how all the tasting here is absolutely free. Yay! The only thing is the regular unflavoured olive oils. We're from Europe, so usually our moderately priced olive oil is already super yummy which means we're used to having good stuff around all the time. For us, the unflavoured oils here were a let-down. Very mild flavours and light colours. We are used to rich, full-bodied flavours and beautiful, deep colours. So for me, if you're going to buy unflavoured oil: import it from Europe. Another thing I love: dog biscuits! All made with ingredients you recognize and they sound yummy enough even for humans, but I'm just glad I at least found a gift on this trip for the number one love in my life. I love the Olive Press! On a whim, a dozen friends and I dropped in during our Sonoma wine tasting trip to check it out. We were greeted enthusiastically by the manager and given a tour of the olive press process. We even got to taste several fresh and delicious olive oils. Who knew olive oil on ice cream could be so good?! The gift shop is great, too. It's unique and filled with special items. Very cool olive oil tasting place. This one is attached to the wine tasting room at Jacuzzi. The room has a bunch of oils and vinegars for tasting (bread and cups are right next to the ones for tasting). I went straight to the unusual combo tasters--my favorite was the Coconut Lime combo. I would have bought it if I could have fit it in my checked bag without worry of breakage (shipping is available at a cost). There were travel friendly sizes too of some of the traditional ones. Olive oil cosmetics were also available for purchase as were cookbooks and utensils. The oils are very tasty; just wish the new flavors were available in smaller sizes. Beautiful venue. read more

Not a wine drinker, but want to experience Napa Valley? Well then, Olive Press is your answer! I came here because it was recommended to me by my cousin. She told me about the FREE olive oil tasting with complimentary bread and crackers for dips. Wow, the different olive oils paired with different flavors of balsamic vinegar creates one of a kind experience for your taste buds. You can walk up to the bar that has all the different flavor oils and balsamic vinegar and take the bread cubes provided to try all the flavors. There are people working behind the bar counter that can answer any questions and can recommend pairings of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. My favorite was the blood orange olive oil. It's amazing how they infuse all these different types of flavors in the oils. However, the gift sets and oils are very expensive. I bought the Fiesta California set which includes 60ml (small bottles) of, Italian Blend EVOO, Arbequina EVOO, White Balsamic*, Fig Balsamic, Blood Orange Olive Oil, and Limonato Olive Oil for $40. I can't wait to try all of them, but it would have to be a very special occasion! The property itself isn't huge, but it's beautiful and very open. The courtyard is beautiful, perfect for some selfies :p. You can see and walk through the grape vineyards, but watch out for BEES! read more

They literally have any kind of olive oil or balsamic vinegar flavor you could think of...all free to taste! Just grab a toothpick and a cup and pump your way to a fun taste test! They have all kinds of other yummy culinary goodies too and if you're craving some more wine tasting, you can walk across the building to the tasting room, which also has all kinds of fun gifts for purchase. This place is heaven for olive oil and balsamic enthusiasts. The olive oil tasting is on the right and wine tasting with a gift shop on the left when you enter the building. The entire property is stunning! The olive oil tasting is free. All the employees are very nice and all of them gave us recommendations on the best combinations. One of the employees was even nice enough to get us a fresh olive oil right from the press. The press is visible from a window from inside and it's pretty cool to see the production. We would have loved to do a tour but they had a special event going on so could not do it this time. If you are thinking of doing a tour, make sure to call ahead. Ah, The Olive Press. About a year and a half ago my family went to the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield, and on our way home we saw a sign for free olive oil tasting. I thought that would be a fun thing to do, so I did a quick search on Yelp and found the Olive Press. I'm glad I did! (And I think my family is, too!) The Olive Press has a ton of different olive oils and balsamic vinegars to try. They provide you with small bread cubes, too (because sipping olive oil might be the best thing in the world, but I've done it before!) I've had the Limonato, Jalapeño, and Rosemary Herb. All are delicious. If you like wine, walk straight across the hall to the Jacuzzi Winery and taste some free wine! Afterward, go outside and explore the beautiful courtyard area. Phenomenal olive oil and vinegars. I've been ordering and visiting The Olive Press for 9 years and everything has remained consistent, fresh and delicious. My favorites oils are the Master blend, kornikian, and the organic Italian blend. Their classic balsamic is rich and thick; both my hubby and I love it. conveniently located inside the jacuzzi family vineyards, this little spot would be a perfect way to kill some time if the JFV tasting room is too crowded. a neat row of olive oils stands at attention on the edge of this tasting bar, with two wells full of cubes of bread for dipping. pump a few squirts of oil into the plastic cups offered and dip away! i was disappointed to see that some of the flavored oils were not offered for tasting, like the blood orange, limonato, and basil-parmesan. and incidentally, the olive oil i liked the most was not one that was made by the olive press - it was the california field blend by copia, an olive oil maker in napa. but this was a really fun experience, and if you're in sonoma, you should just add this to your list of stops for something a little different. read more
