The food was overall, very bland. It was expertly prepared, fresh, and beautiful. But the taste was quite boring. Be prepared to eat a second dinner when you get home. Also be prepared to sit at the bar- this place is very tiny. The vibe is nice. Low ceiling, dimly lit, comfortable cozy. The server/ bartender (I'm pretty sure she was running the whole place) Nikki, was phenomenal. So friendly, good drinks. We started with the oysters which were good. The mignonette sauce was a little different, it had lemon zest in it. It was very good! But the give you laughable amount. Like, a splash. Then we had the fig and prosciutto toast. This was the highlight for us. Tasty all the way around, 4 generous servings on the plate. Jam was so good and the prosciutto was warmed up ever so slightly. I had the hangar steak with some unseasoned boiled carrots. The steak was tender and high quality, but I couldn't taste a bit of seasoning. Also served with a tiny crispy potato pancake. Husband had the halibut special. This had some wasabi crust and if you got a bite of the wasabi it was good. The bites that weren't crusted were boring fish. Again, very fresh and prepared well. Black rice and asparagus also boring. I got a hint of lemon on one bite I tried. We also had the Brussels sprouts, which were charred along with the few pork belly pieces. Husband finished with a whiskey crème brûlée which he enjoyed. He did not, however, enjoy his Dark and Stormy. He said it was all booze and no beer or mix. Sadly, we won't be back.

Off the Wagon is a super fun local toy store. We don't have any kids in our lives we were shopping for, yet still were entranced with how much fun we had! You can find nearly anything in this beautifully curated store. We found ourselves spending a lot of time browsing the adult-friendly puzzles and proclaiming that we wanted to complete 100 different ones. You could easily find a beautiful gift in here for a child or adult alike and I felt inspired for future Christmas gifts. Other standout areas included the kitschy toys meant to make you giggle, and the large selection of fun stuffed animals. I am still actively thinking about the absolutely adorable dog in a space suit and regretting not buying it for myself. The store is very well-organized and the staff are excited to chat with you. Truly a gem of Downtown Chagrin Falls!

We loved the section with adult socks, mugs, soaps, games, plushies and more! They were very punny and would make great gifts for coworkers or friends! I also absolutely loved their collection of plush toys. There were typical stuffed animals, mythical creatures, food, viruses and they ranged in prices and sizes. Most were items I haven't seen in other stores and there was even a really cute and high end Axolotl weighted toy that caught my eye! They also had puzzles, board games, dice, marbles, pop culture/ fandom merchandise (like Grogu, Star Wars, and Studio Ghibli items) and they had some fun candies and drinks too! If you're looking for gifts this is a great spot to check out!

Per our request, our party of six was seated on the outdoor patio overlooking the Chagrin River waterfall, which made for a beautiful setting. One thing to note: you cannot reserve patio seating in advance, but you can request it upon arrival if space is available. We started with four appetizers: *Heavenly Biscuits - AMAZING. *Short Rib Potstickers - Excellent. *Spinach Artichoke Dip - Excellent. *Grilled Artichoke - Good, but not really my style of dish. For entrées, we tried several different items: *Grilled Fish of the Day (Grouper) - Excellent, although the portion was on the smaller side. *Lake Erie Walleye Fish & Chips - Very good. *Thai Steak Noodle Salad - Excellent. *Steak and Frites - Excellent. We also ordered two sides: *Coleslaw - Very good. Is it the best coleslaw I've ever had? No. Is it excellent and worth ordering? Absolutely. *Roasted Baby Yukons - Excellent. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the restaurant graciously provided a complimentary dessert sundae. While the gesture was appreciated, I do wish guests were given a choice of dessert. The sundae was fine, but with several outstanding ice cream shops nearby, the ice cream itself was fairly average. Service was quick and efficient overall. There were a few minor areas for improvement: Wet naps would have been appreciated, as we had to request extra napkins multiple times throughout the meal. Service slowed down a bit during the dinner rush. The steak entrée arrived noticeably later than the rest of the main courses, which may have been due to the kitchen being overwhelmed. It also took a little longer than expected to receive extra plates when requested. These were relatively minor issues, however, and did not significantly detract from the evening. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience with great food, a beautiful patio overlooking the waterfall, and solid service. We would gladly return and would certainly recommend it for special occasions or a nice evening out.

I have many good things to say about Heinens. I am now using them for the purchase of my produce,…read moreespecially the leafy ones as they are always so fresh. I was traveling to a store in Fairlawn until some of the produce I purchased there were old, rotten--avocados looked like they were unedible or frozen and then defrosted but that is the subject of another review of THEM. Continuing with the nice produce from Heinens I am very happy with it. IF anything is ever not to my satisfaction they gladly give me a refund without a hassle. The people are super friendly and helpful. If I ask for help with something on a higher shelf due to a shoulder injury they are most willing to stop what they are doing and help. The checkout cashiers are likewise very pleasant. It is nice to go in and have a short chatty conversation about weather, products, or whatever might come up. Once I broke something throwing it away outside and within a few seconds someone came up and told me not to worry about it and cleaned it up straight away---no shame expressed to me for this embarassing thing. When I am in the store people always ask me in the produce department if they can help me find something. Heinens also sends me emails with deals specifically to my history of purchases. That is so cool. These personal deals are in addition to weekly deals. I would purchase more of the prepared foods if they did not contain so much of the canola/soy. Now I have not checked them recently but it seemed everything, as good as it looked had these oils I would rather avoid. I would like some organic choices with REAL olive oil for those of us who eschew the aforementioned oils. I know they try and carry organic products that are packaged---the more the better to increase my choices. One other thing is sometimes the smell of laundry soap or fragrance is somehow on fruit like peaches. Last year I brought them back with no issue but I would love to buy peaches and the thin skinned fruit there if it did not smell and hence tastes like eating laundry soap. So it is a nice shopping experience overall and using them now for my produce. Again, this is my first choice for shopping and go there several times a week. Glad they are doing a good job overall and they strive to improve I know. I don't aim to say anything mean but hope this is balanced and honest. I love Heinens. Thank you.
