I chose the Prime Rib Eggs Benedict which came with perfectly poached eggs and a super tasty Red Pepper Hollandaise sauce: the side salad I chose as my side a small meal in itself - all for $16!!!! Cute place, first timer decided to try it. Sunday morning wasn't too busy, but the servers all seemed busy not doing much. It was a wait to get sat, a longer wait for our server, for drinks, to order and the longest wait for simple egg/bacon/pancake and hashbrown meals. Rubbery, overcooked (supposed to be over easy eggs) that even a child was unhappy with. I did go for the Eggs Benedict (a usual go-to favorite), but even after the waitress clarified that their eggs were poached and asked if I liked that, I ended up with a soft boiled egg on top, not even the slightest bit runny. The hollandaise sauce was seasoned very oddly, very garlicky? it was gross. None of us could finish the meal due to quality and the bill was over $60 for 3 people.. and then my brother confirmed the one in TC was the same way. read more

Head's up... don't be in a rush. Took almost 35 minutes for our meal. Note: The English Breakfast tea isn't that. Even though that's what I ordered. It's some black tea with vanilla in it. Had to return it. A friend ordered an omelette without cheese. They delivered it with cheese. Not a lot of cheese. Someone put cheese on it. Realized the mistake and then pulled it off leaving cheese. Ugh! Terrible for an allergy. We asked for it to be replaced. We were told it would be 25 minutes because the kitchen was backed up. What?!? Put that order at the head of the line. Our waiter was a lovely human, but didn't seem to understand that if the kitchen messes up, then they have to move the order that they messed up to the front of the line. When she still hadn't gotten her food after another 15 minutes we pushed the waiter to push the kitchen to get her food. Luckily, as he was heading back to do that, her food came out. And finally, the place was freezing. We wore jackets while we ate our meals. We had friends in from Detroit. We thought this would be a nice place to take them with the available parking nearby and we were heading to something downtown. The food was meh. Quite, fun, fairly priced restaurant! The restaurant is very busy and sometimes the wait can be lengthy but the food is delicious. There is only one small bench to sit and wait and the lobby is very narrow! They do have a few tables outside right in the front as you walk in. Parking can be challenging but you can find a spot in the parking structure, on the side of the street or in a lot. This restaurant is family friendly! They have great portions and the food is good. I came here last Sunday morning and overall I'd say this place is good but nothing special. The inside is charming and country-cozy. The staff were all very pleasant to work with even though the kitchen was in the weeds while we were there. I did hear a bit of shouting about order placement and the management staff did not seem to be very easy going on substitutions (we didn't have any but observed others interactions that were a bit tense but civil). After that though, things seemed to be going smoothly again. I got the veggie scramble and enjoyed the variety of the veggies in it and they were cooked pretty well. My mushrooms were a bit rubbery and the asparagus a little overcooked but they still tasted pretty good. My egg was cooked just the way I liked it. My 8yo got the kid's cheddar omelette and she loved it. She did wish it was just a little bit larger (it's a 2 egg omelette for the kid's portion) but she also did not want any toast that came with it as a side. I think if she had the toast with it she would have been very satisfied. They do live up to their namesake when it comes to eggs. Got the normal coffee, and it was - normal. Nothing special there and I had to add creamer when I normally take mine black. I did appreciate that they brought a carafe for the table since my husband also ordered a mug. Maybe their French press version is better. The kids menu doubles as an activity placemat with crayons which my kids enjoyed while we waited. I'm definitely glad we made it in before the church crowd rush because the wait was already almost 2 hours when we were walking out the door. While we were inside I think we spent a little over an hour from in the door to out for 3 meals. I think they do a lot of carry out orders with the Hampton being so close which really bogs down their kitchen staff. If I were staying at the Hampton again I'd return, but otherwise I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. It's not bad, but to me it was just decent diner food. I will say that the pancakes I saw someone order looked pretty delish though - so maybe if I had a hankering for some of those I would come back to try again. read more

We got there a little over an hour before they closed and although they were gearing up to close the staff was still so kind! Sunny was out waitress and she encouraged us to take as much time as we needed and was very attentive! I loved that they had clear parking areas that were either free or validated. It's a typical diner look with a homey feel. The food portions were enormous; I can't think of the last time we took a to-go box for breakfast! Placed our drink and meal order at same time. 40 minutes later we got our food. The other two tables got there food and left before we saw our waitress again. When bill came gave her our CC and the waited another 15 minutes for our receipt. In mean time she took two more orders and serve another. Best we could tell she had about 4-6 tables.
