Crystal and I love getting a steak special here to go! Great after an evening out having fun and need to get something to eat on the way back home. This is walkable for us so it's a perfect stop for us on the way back. Always has a good spice to whatever they make and is a solid amount of food, great quality, and price!

When we walked in there was a bunch of people waiting for their and some of them were complaining very loudly and even to the workers. The workers were kind of rude when they asking if we were ready (this was our first time and last visiting this place). We mostly ordered burgers, which had a good taste but the fries were very plain. We also ordered a quesadilla which was very gross. It was shredded yellow cheese in a tortilla- the cheese was not even melted and the outside of the tortilla was very salty and greasy. They also had very limited seating for a place that is supposed to be open til 2am. But at least they have security there.

Chili cheese fries with chicharrones?! Something that I never realized that I needed to try. My friend took me here for my first time as she couldn't believe that I've never had Chubby's before. It's not the cleanest or cutest inside, but I could care less about how a place looks as long as the food tastes good! Service was a little slow, but still fast for how many people were waiting for their orders. I appreciate that the fries were actually spicy and the the chicharrones were crunchy and so yummy. I could feel heartburn forming as I was eating but sometimes good food just does that to you. Definitely want to go here again and try something new!

Visited this location after a school event around dinner time. There was ample seating inside and a small patio area outside. There are many choices from their menu. Our food took longer than expected and we washed our hands before our order. The bathroom needed some attention and not very clean. We needed toilet paper to dry our hands and open the door b/c they were out of paper towels. When our order was ready after about 15-20 minutes, we had chips and salsa (good but has a kick), kids cheeseburger, an order of regular fries, smothered chili relleno, and smothered beef burrito. We enjoyed the meal and there were many customers during our visit. It's a popular spot for sure and especially for late night eats. The food is good. We needed an extra plate to split up the food for the kids and they wanted to charge us for it (a bit ridiculous) and we did have to ask for ketchup, utensils, napkins, etc. I would come back to Chubby's (now that I have a better idea on what to expect).

This was our last smothered burrito place for out trip. They have late hours but unfortunately when we went it was takeout only. They had closed three dining room area and even turned off the lights. They were still very busy and had a lot of people waiting for their food. The prices were also really fair and despite that bad reviews, the wait to get our food wasn't even that long. These ladies are aggressive here, and definitely not the friendliest, but they're not rude either. The burrito was really good and had some heat. It was also a little high on the sodium level, and a bit too much at times, but I couldn't stop eating it. The burrito was also very filling and the steak was tender and flavorful. I will definitely be returning.

Steak burrito smothered. HORRIBLE and I mean HORRIBLE

I grabbed a seat at the bar where the bartender was friendly and engaging. On a recent Wednesday at 7:15, the restaurant was packed. When I left around 8:30, it was still busy. That's usually the best review a restaurant can get. Loyal customers don't keep coming back out of habit. They come back because it feels like home. The all-day happy hour margarita for $9 certainly doesn't hurt. The second one arrives before you've had time to argue yourself out of it. I ordered the enchiladas with carne asada and their house mole. If you're expecting one of those intensely complex moles with enough ingredients to fill a pantry, this isn't that. Adelitas' version is comforting, approachable, and deeply homey. It tastes less like a culinary experiment and more like something your abuela has been making for decades. The carne asada was tender, the rice and beans were exactly what they should be, and every bite reminded me why comfort food never goes out of style. Before leaving, I made the smartest decision of the evening. Tres leches to go. I devoured it later at home while Netflix asked if I was still watching. The cake somehow manages to be light while completely satisfying. Don't skip it. Better yet, don't pretend you're saving it for tomorrow. Adelitas isn't trying to impress you. It's trying to feed you well, welcome you warmly, and send you home happier than when you arrived. Whether your abuela was Mexican...or Greek...you'll understand exactly what they're serving here.

It wasn't busy at all for a Saturday, and it's just lost its old charm and appeal. I think whoever took it over is trying to make it more upscale and we were hoping for the old Rio vibe. We wanted cheap Tex Mex with a hopping busy atmosphere, and of course their famous margaritas. The margs were the same strong recipe, and the food was very good. Our service was very slow, but friendly. Bring back the old menu and fun atmosphere!

They changed the menu. A lot. No salad with shrimp. 2. For many months, no kids nachos and it was too much to ask for them to melt cheese on chips. Luckily for my daughters sake, they brought those back 3. Weird, non Mexican salads like roasted beet and iceberg wedge 4. Vegetarian items left are mostly just cheese based. Very disappointing! And tonight was the kicker: The kids wanted the rio for Mother's Day but it was a long day and I knew we couldn't go out. Their website stresses that you can order online. I went through the whole order It was very organized Until I tried to pay. It kept saying the amounts had changed and I needed to change a selection but it wouldn't tell me which item and no amount of changing it worked. So I called. I was hung up on after waiting for 5 min I called back and waited longer She took my order but it was tough to get the girl to understand what we wanted. We SLOWLY went through each item, and every item was different than online (e.g. 3 tortillas per order instead of an order of a dozen online). I kept going. We get through my list of things I had ordered. It took 7 min to order for not-so-big family. Then, she repeats the order back to me. She left out HALF of the items we had just gone through! But the total? More than the full order online. I was done! I cancelled my order. I was already hesitant that we would t get the right items since it was so hard to get her to understand. But the higher price with half of the items and less amounts for each one? No thanks! I probably can't get away with avoiding the rip bc my kids still love it, but we used to embrace it and now we look for reasons we can't go. We are actively searching for a replacement that offers good items for the whole family

So, we looked for another. We found two. One was way South in Greenwood Village. We tried it, and it was okay, but not the same. The other one was this one in Westminster. So, we drove up there. We liked it. We like it better than we liked the one that used to be in Lakewood. I've always liked the flavors of Mexican food, but I was never really too hot on what is known as "Tex Mex," until Chuy's. I like the restaurant, I like the decor, and I have come to like the food. I admit I always get the same thing because I am vegetarian, and it is difficult to eat vegetarian in a Mexican restaurant. This place KNOCKS IT OUT OF THE PARK serving beans, and rice that are VEGAN! No lard, no animal products, but all the taste, texture, and loveliness of regular Mexican. Even the corn tortillas are vegetarian. The flour tortillas are not, but they are made FRESH on site. I have found that I have come to love their "Big as yo face" burritos smothered in the Ranchero Sauce. The Ranchero Sauce is a milder sauce, but I like the flavor, and I just bring some of my own Ghost Pepper Powder to sprinkle on, and perk it up to standards! I love that I can eat Mexican rice and beans again and not worry about lard, or chicken broth, but with the SAME EXCELLENT flavor. Chuy's has become the only burrito I actually crave. THANK YOU CHUY'S! By the way, I thought the Lakewood location, (now closed), was pretty good. The Greenwood Village wasn't quite as good. The Westminster location, however, is the best of them all. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I love the food, I love the service, and I love the staff. By the way, their salsa that they serve with their chips is pretty darn good, too. It's spicy, but not too spicy, and I think most people will like it. They also serve a chipotle ranch sauce with the chips that has grown on me. I LIKE THIS PLACE! They also have a reward program where you can get free food, and who doesn't love that?

We were staying at the hostel across the street, which made it extremely convenient to bop over here and snag food. I'm also a small dude, so one taco is really all I need to feel full, so one morning I got one of their breakfast tacos, and another day I did use their deal to get two tacos plus chips and a beverage (I couldn't manage to finish it all, so my husband got the rest lol). My point is, if you're only buying a single taco, you're only shelling out $5 to $6, which in this rapidly-inflating economy, is (depressingly) a good value. I got my meal to-go both times, utilizing their touch screen to place my order, grab a number, and take a seat near the kitchen to wait for food. I will admit that service is a bit slow for a "fast" food joint, but at least the inside is comfortable and relaxing. Just meant I got to sit in the A/C (which in August in Denver was really nice) and sip on my beverage while I waited (and snag a quick refill on my way out!). I did get really excited when I saw Dr. Pepper was one of the options on the soda machine, though perhaps that shouldn't surprise me since Torchy's is from Austin, TX and Dr. Pepper is manufactured right nearby in Waco, TX; they probably have a handshake agreement, haha. Dr. Pepper is my favorite soda pop, so any chain that carries it automatically gets more of my money. I was particularly impressed about how promptly they were open for business on Sunday morning. They actually had their OPEN sign illuminated and their doors open BEFORE the posted hours (just by a few minutes, but it meant I was the first customer there and able to get my day started that much quicker, which was appreciated). The food I got was all yummy, but I most especially liked the chips. They didn't taste like crummy fast food chain chips (looking at you, Taco Bell), they tasted like legit sit-down Mexican restaurant chips, with that solid crunch and oily feel. One of my tacos came with a lot of cheese (yay) but it got really stuck to the inside wrapper (oops). They are also generous with sauces in little cups to add to your tacos. In the future, when I'm not in a hurry, I may be curious to check out their alcoholic menu, as they do have a bar on the inside too. But that might be awhile when I'm next on a vacation, since this chain hasn't yet made it all the way north to Minnesota. I used to see them all the time back when I lived in Texas (naturally), but the nearest location to me currently is Kansas City... pfft.

I got the taco of the month, Muy Thai, with Thai inspired flavors of peanut and peppers; the bell peppers just needed to be cut in smaller pieces, not long strings, or they pull out when you bite them. I also got the Baja shrimp taco, which was tasty, and the street corn, which was elevated by the sweet roasted corn. My husband got the Wrangler, which was ok (he said the egg wasn't very good) and the loaded tater tots, which he proclaimed delicious. Sadly, I could not replace my old Torchy's tshirt from Texas; they are supposedly between vendors and had none!
