My husband said his was good although they put too many onions on top (if I had to guess it was 1/3 of an onion chopped-a little rediculous). He also had a Catalan margarita that was tasty. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. He talked to us about how he came to Denver from the east coast and liked it here. Overall, we would definitely recommend Savina's and if we are back in the area we would eat here again.

I ordered the enchiladas with carne asada and their house mole. If you're expecting one of those intensely complex moles with enough ingredients to fill a pantry, this isn't that. Adelitas' version is comforting, approachable, and deeply homey. It tastes less like a culinary experiment and more like something your abuela has been making for decades. The carne asada was tender, the rice and beans were exactly what they should be, and every bite reminded me why comfort food never goes out of style. Before leaving, I made the smartest decision of the evening. Tres leches to go. I devoured it later at home while Netflix asked if I was still watching. The cake somehow manages to be light while completely satisfying. Don't skip it. Better yet, don't pretend you're saving it for tomorrow. Adelitas isn't trying to impress you. This place KNOCKS IT OUT OF THE PARK serving beans, and rice that are VEGAN! No lard, no animal products, but all the taste, texture, and loveliness of regular Mexican. Even the corn tortillas are vegetarian. The flour tortillas are not, but they are made FRESH on site. I have found that I have come to love their "Big as yo face" burritos smothered in the Ranchero Sauce. The Ranchero Sauce is a milder sauce, but I like the flavor, and I just bring some of my own Ghost Pepper Powder to sprinkle on, and perk it up to standards! I love that I can eat Mexican rice and beans again and not worry about lard, or chicken broth, but with the SAME EXCELLENT flavor. Chuy's has become the only burrito I actually crave. THANK YOU CHUY'S! By the way, I thought the Lakewood location, (now closed), was pretty good. The Greenwood Village wasn't quite as good. The Westminster location, however, is the best of them all. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I love the food, I love the service, and I love the staff. By the way, their salsa that they serve with their chips is pretty darn good, too. It's spicy, but not too spicy, and I think most people will like it. They also serve a chipotle ranch sauce with the chips that has grown on me. I LIKE THIS PLACE! I'm also a small dude, so one taco is really all I need to feel full, so one morning I got one of their breakfast tacos, and another day I did use their deal to get two tacos plus chips and a beverage (I couldn't manage to finish it all, so my husband got the rest lol). My point is, if you're only buying a single taco, you're only shelling out $5 to $6, which in this rapidly-inflating economy, is (depressingly) a good value. I got my meal to-go both times, utilizing their touch screen to place my order, grab a number, and take a seat near the kitchen to wait for food. I will admit that service is a bit slow for a "fast" food joint, but at least the inside is comfortable and relaxing. Just meant I got to sit in the A/C (which in August in Denver was really nice) and sip on my beverage while I waited (and snag a quick refill on my way out!). I did get really excited when I saw Dr. Pepper was one of the options on the soda machine, though perhaps that shouldn't surprise me since Torchy's is from Austin, TX and Dr. Pepper is manufactured right nearby in Waco, TX; they probably have a handshake agreement, haha. Dr. Pepper is my favorite soda pop, so any chain that carries it automatically gets more of my money. I was particularly impressed about how promptly they were open for business on Sunday morning. They actually had their OPEN sign illuminated and their doors open BEFORE the posted hours (just by a few minutes, but it meant I was the first customer there and able to get my day started that much quicker, which was appreciated). The food I got was all yummy, but I most especially liked the chips. They didn't taste like crummy fast food chain chips (looking at you, Taco Bell), they tasted like legit sit-down Mexican restaurant chips, with that solid crunch and oily feel. One of my tacos came with a lot of cheese (yay) but it got really stuck to the inside wrapper (oops). They are also generous with sauces in little cups to add to your tacos. In the future, when I'm not in a hurry, I may be curious to check out their alcoholic menu, as they do have a bar on the inside too. But that might be awhile when I'm next on a vacation, since this chain hasn't yet made it all the way north to Minnesota. My husband got the Wrangler, which was ok (he said the egg wasn't very good) and the loaded tater tots, which he proclaimed delicious. Sadly, I could not replace my old Torchy's tshirt from Texas; they are supposedly between vendors and had none!

I used to love Chubby's when I was younger, but since 2009, the place has went to hell. I know who the owner is, because the few times I have been in there I have seen him introduce himself to other customers saying he was the owner. I believe his name is Greg, and he is the rudest, meanest, and disrespectful person I have ever met! And he is not customer-friendly AT ALL. He doesn't know how to talk to anyone. I heard him yelling at a couple of the workers in the front, with no regard to any of the customers inside there (keep in mind it was packed). And he was going off about some VERY personal stuff that should have not been discussed in public and especially not at that volume. Then, I actually saw him taking an order...the customer was there for the first time ever and he was treating her like she was a dumb ass. Talking down to her, assuming she knew the way to order and what she wanted. Not appropriate at all! When I was leaving, I saw the owner sitting in a red car parked at the back door and he was smoking weed and blowing it out the window. I'm not sure I want to go to a place where the owner is a complete ass and smokes weed by the back door. Very inappropriate. I will not be going back because of HIM. The food has changed also. It's still spicy and sometimes decent. Depending on how you like your food, you have to go at that same time, same day of the week, and hopefully you get the workers in a good mood. It's just not the same. I've lived in Colorado for 25 years and I still hear people swearing by the food, saying its the best...and it might be. But I cannot get over the way the owner is to his own employees and especially to customers. I knew the Original owner, Grandma Stella, and she was very nice, sweet, and treated everyone with respect. I don't know how this Greg became the owner, ( I hear he's not even a member of the original family?) but I work for a very large customer-service driven company and a few of my fellow co-workers have witnessed the same thing as me, at different times. I will REPEAT, me nor any of my fellow co-workers with ever go to this Chubby's again. And our company has over 300 employees. I bet their grandma Stella is rolling in her grave. Oh and I must also say this...I've only been there at night and mostly on the weekends. So maybe it's a different experience then, but from what I've seen and read on these reviews, there seems to be the same consensus and the staff is rude and not people friendly. read more

VEGETARIANS BEWARE!! I went into Chubby's on Saturday morning for their breakfast burritos. I specifically ordered 4 egg, potato, and cheese burritos. When my order came up, I paid and walked out. Before leaving, I decided to check my order because they had put their famous green chili on my food orders in the past. Indeed, they had put green chili on my order. When I went back into the establishment to explain my predicament to the people at the main counter, they promptly explained to me that it was MY fault. They said, "Everything on their menu comes with green chili on it!" As I stood there trying to explain that I am a vegetarian and cannot eat the burritos because of the green chili, they continued to imply that I was the only one at fault because I did not order them "Plain". Not only did they make me feel stupid about placing my order wrong, but they said they were not going to rectify the situation at all. If I wanted the order I had orginally placed, I needed to reorder and pay again. Their customer service is the absolute worst I have ever experienced my life. I have never heard of any food establishment having the audacity to state that their patrons are wrong, AND they won't do anything to help recify the situation!!! I never thought that customer service would deter me from eating at any one specific restaurant, but I will never be stepping foot into The Original Chubby's again! read more

Chub's is a staple in OUR community... That being said I would like to thank those who have made it a point to seperate the highlands from the North Side!!! If you want good HOT food come try it... like others have said if ur afraid of what you might see then maybe you might want to go through a drive thru somewhere near C-470 Chub's is not for the faint of heart... There is something about the atmosphere that is 1 of a kind. sure the staff may seem a little irritated at times but if you don't like it don't come... Wah I wish I loved this place as much as other people do. But to be quite honest this place is not worth getting treated poorly. They're so rude. It's always the African American and this older lady who wears pounds of make up that are always running the cash registers. And they're the face of this company the first face we see walking in. It's not pretty. They're always bothered or annoyed. Last time I went a employee was getting into a argument with I'm assuming was the manager about being charged a $9.00 fee to cash their check. And this employee was demanding these $9.00. It's sad to say it but this place only hires within the family. Which are nothing but delinquents and felons. As you see I gave them five stars because I love this place I will not eat at any other Chubby's I drive all the way from Gun Club Road and tower just to eat here I have for the past 30 yrs I ordered my food and picked it up which mind you was more than $40, we got home and we did not receive chicharones in our Mexican hamburgers that we paid for and I don't know who the cooks were but this food tasted really disgusting it wasn't even hot like it should be because that is the point of Chubby's chili next time I don't think I'll bother driving that far I can just hit up Bubba chinos on second and federal read more

The place has lost its charm, and the food quality has significantly declined. I ordered the steak burrito special, which used to be a favorite, but this time it was disappointing. They added beans, making it mushy, and it was excessively salty. I regretted not ordering the smothered fries, a reliable choice from past visits. My boyfriend opted for the jumbo hot dog with ketchup and mustard, but they inexplicably topped it with nacho cheese, which didn't work at all. Brought the fam here October 11th around 6pm for some Classic Chubby's, fries were on point...but check the pic lol. My wife ordered a Chile Relleno and it came out cooked but cold. So I asked for another. Took forever and we were sitting so I went to check. Shame shame shame on the lady in the teal shirt for going back, looking at this overcooked crap, deciding it was edible, wrapping it up and giving it to me. It looks like a fried turd. After doing a taste comparison between the burrito and the skanky paper wrapping it, the paper won. Tradition does not Mexican Cuisine make. Recently moved in the 38th Street area and heard some mixed reviews about this place. I decided to try it one day, practically starving, before work. Four stars for their fast service and hit-the-spot spiciness of a breakfast burrito. Trying to be generous with my Yelp, but the service was a little rude (they were really busy, though) and there is nowhere to sit! By the time I took my vegetarian burrito to work, it was pasty. Went in for lunch (not very busy) and it was loud for the number of people in the restaurant. The cashier could not hear me as well I could not hear her. I had to ask "excuse me" too many times to get her to repeat herself. I asked for spicy and I was handed mild. Being too loud I have repeatedly said spicy so I am not sure how I ended up with mild. Kudos to Chubby's for properly and strictly following the state's protocols for operating a restaurant during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the last few weeks I have visited several times and the staff have been consistent with following the rules. Don't even consider trying to enter without a face mask. I dare you to try. I placed my order and waited 20 minutes and then the snarf scarf happened! Yep I'd like to trademark that please . My burger was very tasty, didn't even realize I ordered a meal with double patties so that means I could only manage 1/2 the burger. Hooray for leftovers. I ordered fries as a side and of course some custard. Sadly I didn't think my order through because when it was time to enjoy my custard it melted! It was a warm afternoon. However yesterday I had an experience that was out of the regular service this location provides. I called to place mi order and the lady that took my order had a rude & sarcastic tone. First she answered but was talking to someone else without putting me on hold. It was confusing because at one point I didn't know if she was talking to me. Once she got back to me she didn't apologize or thanked me for wanting. I asked how many hot wings were in an order; she responded with a tone 12, or 24 or 36; however the way she was saying was a tone like I should had knew and trying to make feel damn. At the end I asked was the total of my order was to be and she refused to give me the total. She said she was to give that to once I had picked up the order? Once I picked up the order I asked her why she had done that and the excuse was that she was busy. At no point she apologized for her poor behavior. How can an employee be busy when a customer is using their business? I hope this girl gets some kind of coaching or training in how to treat customers. It happened around 6:45 p.m on 6/25/26 she was in her early 20's black hair pulled back, round face. Medium weight complexion.
