Ordered and waited, was slightly busy, got my food and it was short one meal and also one meal was not what i ordered. I was told that they didn't have two items I ordered even though i was not told at time of ordering and still charged. The girl i spoke to was rude, short and unprofessional. She said they couldn't refund It. They put my moms and brothers food on the same plate. One of the items she claimed was out was given to a customer who sat next to us to eat as we were finished eating. I've been coming here for for over 20 years I still order the same thing chili cheese fries and horchata and the service is always fast and the food is always good. It's a neighborhood staple. during the day it's like a dinner in a sitcom, the neighborhood regulars come in young and old they know each other and the staff they chit chat, shoot the sh!t. I love this place makes it feel like my same ol neighborhood. Because of Covid there is not a lot to eat late night anymore but these guys are still open late but the late night crowed comes and it's lots different feel from the day crowed, it can get a little nutty to say the least. Really sad with my experience here tonight. I recently moved back to denver and when looking for food near my new house, Chubby's popped up. I had always heard great things, and was super excited to try it. My husband and I placed our order online and went to pick it up, he had a bit of a uncomfortable pick up process as he wasn't greeted by 3 employees up front, and then moved closer to where they were and was told to wait back by where he had first came in. We work in the restaurant industry and are patient and understanding and didn't let this curb our excitement for our food. Once we got home, we took everything out of the bag and realized they forgot an order of our smothered fries. No biggie, we each got our own and we're cool with sharing just the one order that was in our bag. We called chubbys about 7 minutes after we left and let them know what had happened that way we could get a refund for the missed food. We were not upset or even frustrated at this point. I work in a restaurant, shit happens especially with staffing issues. However, the employee that answered the phone was extremely rude and said we should of checked the bag before we left, no " sorry" or "oops", no "let's figure it out for you" Instead This dude was just mean and annoyed and said that if we didn't want food missing, we should of checked the bag. My husband responded by saying "your right I should of checked the bag, I didn't notice any signage prompting customers to do so for before leaving, so I just trusted it was in there" and the guy said "well at every restaurant I've ever been to I check the bag so" At this point, I just signal at my husband to let it go and we will take the L because I was starving and just wanted to enjoy my food and felt super uncomfortable listening to this guy be so rude and dismissive when we were being overly cool about the situation. Definitely some coaching moments to have with the staff, and possibly some bigger issues with the company culture and how they value treating people. In my experience, usually employees with good companies/ bosses take pride in how they serve people On the other hand, there's another great Mexican spot down the street on tejon that everyone is very nice at, give that place a try if you are looking for good food and service! :) read more

They have a sign that they will not tolerate rude customers yet the energy they give first is rude. They belittle the customers and the way they even speak to the cooks in awful!
