The food just really didn't taste that good sometimes it works out and sometimes you go to a new place and the food is just not tasty. Sadly this is one such example. There are other similar food options in the neighborhood. I would suggest anyone consider one of the other ones. Also no fault of their own, but the location is extremely difficult to find parking. read more

Usually I order from this restaurant via Ubereats for delivery but on this occasion (10/02/24)- I ordered in person- especially since I wanted to check-in via the app to be eligible for a free chips w/ cheese ($5 value) along with ordering a normal standby a #42 Burrito- Carnitas substituting the normal sauce with green sauce. My compliments to Aurora for taking care of my special requests whilst doing it in expeditious manner and a genuine smile. I didn't eat in the restaurant- ordered carry out- the ambiance was very nice- one customer at the time sitting in a quiet atmosphere along with organized and clean tables/restaurant. As far as the utilized free chips and cheese- Yelp.com check-in coupon (at the time of this review)- it was valid for a 4 hour period if you clicked the button to use now or you could save it for later. You just needed to show it to the owner/manager or employee that you'd be using this particular offer. In closing- I took forward to my next very tasty meal from this restaurant. Went here last week for first time. My thoughts: Salsa- 1* absolutely horrible, no taste Chips- 3* acceptable, not bad Taco - 2* Enchilada - 2* Rice and Beans- 2* No A/C - a big turn off, I bet summer time is brutal! Only thing I enjoyed was the bottled Mexican Coke Also the size of the salsa bowl was very small, which was okay because the salsa was the absolute worst I have ever tried. She gave me the history of the place and how its a family run business with her father still working in the back. So I'll add a star for that. My only issue is the price and the food. The prices have went up and the portions have went down. Ordered a wet burrito and they were very light on the sauce and asked for more sauce and was charged $1 for a small portion of sauce. Food was mediocre at best and I'm being nice. I also ordered a taco and it was $4.50 plus $1 to use my card and after tip it ended up being $7 for one taco. Not worth it. I'm sorry. I wish them luck. Excellent food and wonderful customer service! This is the only restaurant in town that I can safely eat at as they use really good and tasty cooking oil. Most restaurants use highly inflammatory industrial seed oils, but not Las Brisas. The enchiladas are delicious as is the rice and beans. Love the Jamaica too! I've eaten there a few times and will continue to go there. I'm spreading the word that this is a great establishment! Best in town!!! read more

Came by this quaint Mexican restaurant that is close to where we live because we have heard some great things about it. Upon entering, we were greeted by Hillary who was so sweet and told us a bit about their family's long history in San Pedro. We decided to dine in, the restaurant was very clean and beautifully decorated. They offer some great daily specials throughout the week as well. I ordered the verde al pastor wet burrito combination which was flavorful and prepared well. My boyfriend ordered a combination with a hard shell taco and enchiladas which he devoured. Also another issue I had was that this was a Mexican restaurant that only had one kind of salsa only red. I feel like every Mexican restaurant should have a variety of salsas. One guy was there waiting for his food and two gals sitting at a table Took forever to get just our drink order and chips (which were stale) The waitress I assume was new. I showed her a coupon that i received from a local football game, no expiration date Showed her what I wanted , she said no problem. The tacos were soggy on the shell and meat was over salted. I think this is the last time we will be coming back. Nom nom nom... I have been to Las Brisas twice now and each time the experience has been good. Their green sauce is awesome, they use the Chili Verde chili sauce so when you have it, it is full of flavor. From my understanding, almost everything is made from scratch here so the horchata and jamaica's taste can vary batch from batch. Which I appreciate, as it isn't too sweet! My only complaint is that when I ordered lengua, I think that I was served Chili Verde instead. The meat had the opposite texture of lengua, but it was still delicious. As I already have done, I'll come back again. The price and taste is just right. read more

Located in a strip mall is this mom n pop Mexican restaurant. I walked in on Mother's Day at noon and the tv was on and a little abuelita was watching it, enjoying her meal. I'm not sure if she's a worker or a regular, but she knew her way around the restaurant. A woman dressed in a traditional Mexican outfit greeted us, and gave us a menu since we were dining in. I ordered an horchata, while Stephen had a can of diet coke. I was surprised she didn't offer him a glass with ice or a straw when she placed the drinks down with the chips and salsa (I agree with one yelper, its salsa, not pico de gallo). As I was munching on my chips, I wished I had a napkin. Place settings came later, after you order. We were going to have dinner with the Moms later so I chose the grande shrimp cocktail, and Stephen had the light combo consisiting of chicken enchilada, chile relleno, and beef taco. For a "light" platter, that was a lot of food! It came with a scoop of beans and rice. Its a small kitchen with 2 workers, so you have to be patient. The food came out in about 15-20 minutes, and it was good. Not great, like the way my ex husband's tia would make it. Its definitely not Acapulco or some chain like that, but I've had better "home style" mexican food. Living in Socal, we get spoiled with great food, this place is well, just ok. NO refills on the soda or the agua frescas (although I think the regulars gets refills.. just saying). I did like the horchata, so I ordered a 2nd one at full price ($2.50) for a medium size and took it to go. We had a $20 groupon, and even with the discounted price, we still had to add an addition $10 + tip for the balance. I think the bill came to $29.50 for 2 entrees, 3 drinks.
