Highlights from my recent trip to Levis Saloon: - It's a saloon - Stuffed wolf directly inside front door (also had some deer heads on walls) - Lots of colorful glass chandeliers hanging from the ceiling - Homey feel - nice people, comfort food - Nice breakfast menu (many tasty options!) - Good, reasonably priced food I got the breakfast burritos (2) with scrambled egg, cheese, onion and green peppers. I don't know why there are two Levi's on Yelp, but either way it's a nice choice. We've only really gone for brunch because they are one of the few places you can get breakfast and booze in Saginaw any day of the week. Plenty of options to each and the waitstaff is pleasant. The only time we have had to wait for a table is when we've had a larger group and even then it wasn't long. read more

A GREAT place to take the kids. Levi's has an astoundingly wide menu, and though most of the dishes are your standard Americana fare (epicures will be disappointed), the prices are low and the portions are HUGE. I haven't been there in a while thanks to a New Year's resolution to eat healthier, because portions like these don't mesh with healthy eating. With most of the dinners, you get soup or salad and tons of extras and sides, and even the most dedicated eaters will be hard pressed to clean their plates, especially with the free popcorn they give you to start! And their "famous" ham is famous for a reason - it's delish! It's a great family restaurant and the kids' menu is extensive and as generous as the adult portions. The kids even get free vanilla soft-serve ice cream cones for dessert. (Legitimate cake cones, not even mini ones!) AND on certain days of the week, kids eat FREE with adult meals! (As I said, I haven't been there in a while, so I'm not sure which days, but I'm sure you could find out with a quick phone call.) The decor is the best kind of kitchy, and the place, including the restrooms, was always very clean. The only negative is that it's impossible to eat there on a diet! This is NOT the place to go if you're trying to slim down. However, for a special treat or for families who aren't watching their waistlines, I highly recommend Levi's. read more

When I was told we were going to go this place called Levi's...I'm thinking jeans? ummmm store? Nopers. It's a great place that has the most GINORMOUS plate of the best tasting nachos I've ever eaten!! Hands down. The plate, or shoud I say platter of chips, ground beef/chili/fajita filling, 3 different cheeses, salsa, black olives, onions, tomatoes rolled out of the kitchen and my eyes bugged right out. This $16 dollar meal fed 4 hungry people and stuffed us up to the said bugged out eyeballs. The decor was very different. I swear they had at least 30 different Tiffany lights in every space available from the ceiling between all kinds of funny objects overhead also. Every window had clear and frosted stain glass hangings and all kinds of stained glass framed pieces on the walls. I have never seen anything like it. You always found something new you didn't see before. I can't wait to go back for breakfast. You get alot of food for you money and that's always a HUGE plus! read more

Great location with nice decor, an extensive but simple menu, and great staff with good food and stiff drinks. Don't forget about being a local staple of breakfasts with DELICIOUS ham. Absolutely love the food there!!! The waitresses are almost always wonderful, and portions/price are good. Our kids love going there. My only complaint is that the bartender/manager is downright rude. I had a question about one of their drafts this evening (my husband and I have visited many breweries throughout the state and one of their beers tasted "off") and she was completely condescending and dismissive. I wanted to like this restaurant. It's not a chain, but a mom and pop place. But if I'm going to regularly plunk down $20, it's because the food and service are good, not just to support my neighbor. Unfortunately, this place disappoints. It starts as soon as you walk in. Your party can barely make it through the door. Really, it's single file. Just one step from the door is an enormous glass case with a stuffed wolf. Turn left, and you are blocked by the hostess desk. Turn right, and you are within spitting distance of someone's table. (I always feel sorry for the poor schmucks sitting there.) It would be forgivable if you got seated quickly, but the wait staff has a hard time welcoming new customers even with a few tables occupied. It's probably because they can't see you behind the wolf. I've got to say, their drinks are the best in town. The best in almost any town, really. That is the only reason to recommend this place. Their Long Island is incredible. And their Hawaiian Punch is outstanding. Either the bartender is always generous, or their policy is to reward the customer with truly alcoholic drinks. Drinks from chains like Applebee's, Outback, etc. are a joke. You end up with a smoothie or a milkshake that has a hint of alcohol for $5 or $6. Not so with Levi's. You better get yourself something to drink, because the wait staff is good at refilling your free popcorn bowl. I've never tasted saltier popcorn. It is so obviously an attempt at getting you to drink more, that even a 5-year at our table told our waitress when she bothered to appear "This popcorn is salty. More milk, please!" (This is a warning to people with high blood pressure. Actually, warning to anyone who doesn't want high blood pressure) You can tell the owners wanted this watering hole to be kitschy. There are enough Tiffany lamps to adequately light Grand Central Station. There is enough usable farm equipment suspended from the ceiling to run a profitable farming operation. And then there is the ridiculous print of a turn of the century madame that hangs over the entire bar. It is risqué without being titillating. (This is a warning to those who want to bring their mother-in-law) Their menu has typical American fare. If you have 30 minutes, you could make most of the items better at home. They sell a lot of pizza, but I've had better at Timbers just a mile down the street. To make it worse, they overcharge. Say you and your significant other want to split a pizza. She likes ham and pineapple, and you like supreme. Fine and good, but you will pay for EACH TOPPING, regardless if it covers the whole pizza. $1.50 each for the ham and pineapple, even though it is on just one side. $1.50 each for the pepperoni, sausage and mushroom on the other. Your budget meal just turned into a very expensive pie. I don't know of any other pizza joint that rips customers off like that. I've asked the wait staff to double-check, and the owners will not budge on this point. I've eaten here plenty of times. The only meals I didn't regret were the chicken strips and the fish dinners. They usually give you plenty and the batter is pretty good. So you can do well if you want a drink with your fish and chips. read more

I actually didn't think much of this place at first but I find myself coming back again and again. Lately I've been going for breakfast as my office is no longer near by for lunch. Food might not be the most amazing you've ever had but it always comes out good and portions are large. Breakfast menu isn't big but it has all the basics on it. The ham is pretty tasty. At Levi's you can't beat the amount of excellent food you get for your money. The service is great and the meals outstanding. You can not leave this place feeling hungry. I have eaten at Levis for years. Friday night my aunt and I went in for dinner and I have never been so disappointed in my service and my meal. We both ordered build your own burgers, my aunt got deluxe and I got cheese and bacon, then I mentioned onions and was charged 79cents for a tiny slice of onion. I have never been charged for a slice of onion in my life. I was also disappointed with our service, everyone was offered popcorn and we had to ask for it. We have always been satisfied with our service and food, I know that it was busy but the waitress had time for her other customers. I hope that the next time that we eat there it will be better I will never order another burger again, our burgers and fries were cold, I know we should have sent them back, but didn't know how long it would take. I went here for the first time last week. The place was packed so I was thinking it had to be great as suggested by a friend. It wasn't as I expected. My omelette was so greasy that there was a puddle on my plate. Our waitress seemed edgy and forgot our order and had to ask questions a couple of times. All in all I wasn't impressed. read more

I go to Levi's pretty regularly, and there's a reason for it. Their food is delicious and very reasonably priced. You get a big burger and a big helping of fries for 7 bucks. My God! I just had the best calzone that I have had in several years .it is new on their menu and it was absolutely incredible . I have never had anything bad at Levi's except once when the eggs were gross,But that was a long time ago. We were unfortunately disappointed today. We ordered breakfast and someone else in our party ordered a deep dish pizza. We were told the pizza takes a while. We were fine with that but we wanted our breakfast when it was ready. That did not happen. At least 2 parties that arrived after us recd their orders. Then the bacon was burnt and disgusting. We were charged extra for egg whites only! Really??? They were runny on top of that. The pizza was burnt. Overall thumbs down. The only reason for 2 stars was our waitress was nice. We were told they won't charge us this time for the egg whites but next time they would. Don't worry there will not be a next time! read more

Homemade food that hits the spot. Some of the largest portions in town with some of the lowest prices. Breakfast served all day (one of the best in Saginaw), large menu covering most cuisines, great comfort food, good service, full bar, and their signature honey ham. Not the biggest place and the decor is a bit old fashion (I.e. Tiffany Lamps everywhere), but your welcomed in by a giant stuffed wolf (awesome). A Saginaw gem. I recommend the Train Wreck Sandwich, Omlettes, hash browns, wet burrito, pancakes (huge), or the homemade soups. read more
