I grew up in Brooklyn, so I always approach "NY style pizza" with apprehension. The first thing I noticed was that it smelled like a NY pizzeria. The pies and the Sicilian looked like I remember, so my hopes were high. The staff were super helpful and quick. And when I finally ate that slice, I was instantly transported back to Brooklyn in the early 90's. By far, the best pizza I've had outside of New York in 30 years. Highly recommend! read more

So I found this place by accident and I'm glad I did was in cary for work and wanted something quick and close so I decided to try it anytime I see ny style pizza I laugh being from nyc the pizza never looks or taste like nyc pizza but I soon as I walked in the smell took me back home to the bronx the decor was also a great reminder of my city and somethings I miss about home I talked to the manager/owner for a minute but when I saw the slices I knew the pizza had a chance that first bite was heaven the cheese pull was awesome the crust was crispy it wasn't doughy the sauce was just right I really enjoyed my pepperoni slice at this gem of a pizzeria so next time I'm in cary I know where I'm stopping thank you for the experience oh sorry no pics it was gone before I thought about it Please check this place out if you want a ny slice read more

This place has fantastic pizza but unfortunately the staff is where it falls short. I prefer NY pizza to anything else so I try to stay away from "fast food" pizza and have loved this place for years. I recently had a delivery driver get very confrontational with me. As a solo female, I am very cautious of the situations I put myself in and this one made me feel unsafe. I did call the store to let them know and was met with more animosity. I'm a bit disheartened to write a comment about our recent purchases. My half of the pizza always requests onion & I always add a note to request that it be THIN SLICES. Thick chunks of onion actually makes a pizza very unpleasant in taste, in my opinion. I feel if I'm paying nearly $40 for a pizza (plus tax/delivery/tip) that I should at least like my pizza. I'll stop asking for onion when I order from them again, and picked off the onion chunks that I paid for, of course - but would hope next time they'd take a moment to call a customer (before just throwing on whatever they have around) to see if they're ok with an alternate item than what the customer specifically requested. read more

Pretty good pizza. The crust is thicker than what I expect for NY pizza but it was chewy and crunchy, with a great taste. I also ordered a Caesar Salad which was good. The service was decent. My family and I went there for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon so it wasn't too busy and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. Ordered the Meat Supreme pizza, size X Large, so it was a good size for all 4 of us. They have stromboli, calzone, and different kinds of pizza. They also have a few sweets, too, like cannoli. One of the best NY style pizza places left in the Triangle. Their pizza consistently tastes great every (!) single (!) time (!) and their toppings are awesome too. Love the NY posters and wall decor. The only thing missing is an arcade machine. I really miss the shop that used to be at High House Crossing. They were closer to where I live and they would deliver. This was my first time trying this even though I've lived in Cary my whole life. My boyfriend just moved to the area and wanted pizza but not "just pizza", he wanted "real pizza." I'd seen this place when I get groceries at Lowe's, and decided it was time to try it. Oh, my god, we are never going back to fast food pizza ever again. We got 3 small things to split. An eggplant parmesan pizza, a stuffed veggie pizza, and their "pasta pot pie." We ate ourselves silly that night. The eggplant parm pizza was definitely the fave a the cheese was rich and not greasy and the crust was so good that even my boyfriend ate them, and he usually doesn't. The stuffed pizza was cheesy with well-cooked veggies and reheated great for my lunch the next day (my coworkers were jealous). The pasta was very different and was rich with ricotta and a meat sauce that was, simply put, a pizza lasagna, but with ziti. And we loved it. Everything about this was wonderful. And their online ordering is super easy and let me choose when to pick up, so the whole experience was a huge win for me. We will DEFINITELY be back soon. read more

The quality of pizza is very good. However I ordered 2 large pepperoni pizzas at a total of $48. Just for 2 one topping pies. Absolutely ludicrous. Instead I opted to get 2 Costco pizzas at $21. Less than half and the pie is slightly larger. The only main difference is Original is thin and Costco is a thicker crust. Customer service skills are low at Original. There was no apology or how can we earn your business offer. These places are outright scamming the consumer. We rarely eat out and opt to cook at home at a fraction of the cost of eating out. These places will keep taking advantage of consumers until we all stand up and stop buying from them. Force them to return their prices to reasonable levels. read more

I'm constantly on the prowl for great pizza and consider it to be a foundation food. After moving into the Raleigh area, I immediately went straight to NY Pizza on Tryon based upon the reviews I found on the web. And it pretty much delivers on its name. While I'll always have a special place in my heart for New Haven style pizza, NY style is a close second. At NY Pizza they sell by the slice or you can get a small or large pie. I stick with the basic cheese as a purist. Good pizza requires a good crust and NY Pizza does it right. Thin with a little bit of chewiness. Sauce and cheese coverage is good, balanced evenly between the two with good ingredients. The pie itself is quite large with big, foldable slices. At $13+, it's not cheap but worth it if you need a quick fix. Outside of pizza, they've got calzones (which look pretty good) but that's about it for the menu! You can do pick-up or sit inside the small seating area, service is decent but can be a bit slow at times. The kids working the joint are nice but not always on top of things. I've had to wait an additional 15 to 20 minutes for my pie due to slow service. Overall, I like the place and would recommend it to people looking for NY style pizza. Rock on! read more

I told them to please charge us for the "incorrect" pizza as I was sure someone may eat some of it. They refused to charge us and had the replacement pizza to us in under 30 minutes. This is my go-to pizza place. Pizza is about as good as it gets! Johnnys is their high end pizza competition and I take Original NY pizza any day. Pizza is really good. Only downside is their wings. They are REALLY bad. Like "I can't believe they are selling these things" bad.
