After church, my son and I had brunch at The Original Pancake House. It's always a good solid breakfast. Our table/dining area was a little tight, and the inside is looking a little dated. I ordered the gluten-free pancakes. I wanted them like the strawberry pancakes but the server said that the kitchen won't add anything extra to the gluten-free pancakes. So he brought me the strawberries and whipped cream and powdered sugar for me to add to the pancakes myself. After I added everything, they were delicious. He also brought us warm syrup. The menu indicated that the flour used for the gluten-free pancakes were Bob's Red Mill, which makes a good GF flour. My son had the cinnamon almond french toast. He said they were good. Whilst visiting family in the area, we came to The Original Pancake House for breakfast. We were a considerably sized group at about 8 people. We only waited for a little while before being seated. After briefly looking at the menu, I decided to have the pancakes with strawberries on top. I liked that I could get a combo with eggs and sausage since I can get a bit "sweeted out" with just pancakes. After a few minutes, the food came out. It was sooo delicious. Everything was very fresh and warm as hoped. Everything was cooked perfectly and there was a good balance of flavors. Definitely an ideal breakfast outing! Top notch ingredients and attention to quality make for a breakfast that's consistently better than most (fresh-squeezed OJ, in-house homemade cream, etc.) great coffee in a fun mug and a solid Kids Menu. I had the strawberry waffle with fresh strawberries and strawberry sauce (and of course, the homemade cream) and my husband had strawberry pancakes with a side of bacon. Portions are plenty big and plated beautifully. Cade was our server and one of the best we've ever had. We stopped in to the Original Pancake House for breakfast and we were very happy to find out it is full service. We haven't found many breakfast spots that are. My husband ordered the Corn Beef Hash and said it was really good. My mom had the peach pancakes and loved them. I had the Georgia Pecan Pancakes with the brandied peaches on the side and they were delicious. I was shocked at the amount of food they served us. Each pancake order had 6 full size pancakes!! He ended up drinking my coffee to calm his tummy. My husband the only one who enjoyed his blueberry pancake. I was driving around after a doctor's appointment looking for a quick breakfast. I stumbled upon The Original Pancake House (OPH) and I'm so glad that I did. Tucked away in a shopping center, OPH has a modern feel on the outside, but brings nostalga on the inside. Think old fashioned diner meets your Grandparent's home. Wooden picture frames, old school coffee mugs, and booth seating with cousins and friends surrouding you catching up on life. I ordered the Georgia Pecan Pancakes with turkey sasuage and scrambled eggs. The pancakes were soft, fluffly, and hot. The butter and powered sugar was a nice touch. The eggs and sasuage were cooked to perfection and the coffee was piping hot. My waitress was so sweet. She was attentive and made sure to check in on me as I was a party of one. I look forward to trying this OPH again preferably with friends next time. The Original Pancake House is located in a nice outdoor shopping complex in Alpharetta. What drew me in was their menu with unique creations for breakfast items like pecan waffles and toasted coconut pancakes. The interior is a bit off as there is a main dining room with tables and booths and an additional smaller dining room in the back. We were initially seated in the dining room in the back, but it seemed not to have any sort of atmosphere and disconnected from the rest of the restaurant, so asked to be seated in the main dining room. The booths seemed a bit claustrophobic with uncomfortable seating, and it seems that whoever designed the layout may have cut some corners not considering guest comfort. Seating aside, the food was good. We ordered both the pecan waffle and the pecan pancakes. Both were delicious and tasty, prepared using fresh ingredients and made from scratch batter. In the taste department, we liked both, but the pecan waffle (4/5) slightly edged out the pecan pancakes (3.5/5) since the pecans baked into the waffle added a bit more eating enjoyment than the pancakes that had a majority of the pecans on top. Their maple syrup was solid and of great quality without being too sweet. Drink prices were a bit on the higher side, as a glass of orange juice was over 6 dollars. Service by Jay was super friendly and she checked in on us just the right amount. Percy was AWESOME - I only wish I had more to tip him for his awesome service. Ordered the 49'er Flap Jacks and the Corned Beef Hash. It's hard to get Corned Beef Hash wrong, so it was no surprise that it was well seasoned and yummy, and the three poached eggs were a welcome addition. The 49'er Flap Jacks were a REVELATION - I'm so used to traditional pancakes, and from the size of these (they're HUGE) to the wonderful chewy consistency and the mild flavor, these are one of the best pancake variations that I have ever had.
