Strawberry pancakes with fresh strawberries and fresh cream and a side of bacon.
    Becky B.

Top notch ingredients and attention to quality make for a breakfast that's consistently better than most (fresh-squeezed OJ, in-house homemade cream, etc.) great coffee in a fun mug and a solid Kids Menu. I had the strawberry waffle with fresh strawberries and strawberry sauce (and of course, the homemade cream) and my husband had strawberry pancakes with a side of bacon. Portions are plenty big and plated beautifully. Cade was our server and one of the best we've ever had. He was never intrusive, but had great intuition to keeping the coffee flowing and checking on our needs. I will ask for him every time going forward. The ambiance is not fancy, but welcoming. It's usually packed and my BEST tip for you is to join the waitlist ahead of time.

Good friendly service Fresh food My sandwich was delicious. The pancakes were soo good. Our beverages were kept full and hot Ambiance was pretty casual and the 90s music was pretty cool.

We stopped in to the Original Pancake House for breakfast and we were very happy to find out it is full service. We haven't found many breakfast spots that are. My husband ordered the Corn Beef Hash and said it was really good. My mom had the peach pancakes and loved them. I had the Georgia Pecan Pancakes with the brandied peaches on the side and they were delicious. I was shocked at the amount of food they served us. Each pancake order had 6 full size pancakes!! I would have been okay with 2. My biggest complaint was the prices were high for breakfast. We dropped 100$ for three people. The food is good but I would prefer small portions and prices.

Fast and courteous service and good clean place for a quick bite in the morning. The crepes and pancakes were decent, along with other breakfast items. Coffee was a miss.

Good - nothing to write home about. My pecan waffle had raw pecan bits that did not go well with it. The raw taste of the pecan was in conflict with the waffle, syrup and butter. My son ordered the Georgia Peach Pancake, which was extreme in terms of size. He did not eat even a quarter. He did not like the eggy butter, he said it made him nauseous. He ended up drinking my coffee to calm his tummy. My husband the only one who enjoyed his blueberry pancake. Ambience- it was quite loud with the family next to us speaking so loudly we were drawn in to there conversation unwillingly. Our server was the best part of the experience and the reason for the 3 star. She was pleasant and engaged us throughout.

Parking is a bit limited in the shopping complex. Seated at a table that gives little room to even breath. Not much of a selection for food except for breakfast items. Food portions are good and taste is OK. But don't really feel it's worth the price at paying over $20 (with tax and tip) for breakfast food.

I was driving around after a doctor's appointment looking for a quick breakfast. I stumbled upon The Original Pancake House (OPH) and I'm so glad that I did. Tucked away in a shopping center, OPH has a modern feel on the outside, but brings nostalga on the inside. Think old fashioned diner meets your Grandparent's home. Wooden picture frames, old school coffee mugs, and booth seating with cousins and friends surrouding you catching up on life. I ordered the Georgia Pecan Pancakes with turkey sasuage and scrambled eggs. The pancakes were soft, fluffly, and hot. The butter and powered sugar was a nice touch. The eggs and sasuage were cooked to perfection and the coffee was piping hot. My waitress was so sweet. She was attentive and made sure to check in on me as I was a party of one. I look forward to trying this OPH again preferably with friends next time. While I didn't feel awkward alone, I think it would be such a fun time to catch up on a Saturday morning in a nostalgic atmmosphere! Overall Rating:

hello we looking through our lost and found nothing was turned in from yesterday resembling a changing pad. we checked her tables from friday and checked the restrooms, at this time it is not here.

We want to go here for Easter, will it still be the same menu and can you make reservations?

Their original menu will still stand and making reservations can be done via the "Now Wait" app or website if this specific location offers any :)

Unfortunately, our excitement quickly faded before we were even seated. When I walked into the restaurant, I was completely ignored by a young blonde employee named Claudia who was standing behind the counter in the waiting area. She looked directly at me and continued what she was doing without so much as a greeting or an acknowledgment. A simple, "Good morning, someone will be right with you," would have gone a long way. Since no one else was in the lobby and I noticed a clipboard on the counter, I politely asked if there was a waitlist. Claudia responded with an attitude that she "wasn't the hostess." I calmly asked where the hostess was, and she simply replied that she was clearing tables. There was no offer to help, no explanation of the process, and no attempt to assist me. She continued interacting with other staff members while I stood there feeling like an inconvenience. Thankfully, another employee who appeared to be a waiter noticed me. He immediately picked up the same clipboard that had been sitting on the counter, took my name and phone number with a cheerful attitude, and let me know it would be about a 15-minute wait. His professionalism completely contrasted with the poor customer service I had just experienced. Once seated, our waiter was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was also very good. I ordered the Chicken Sausage Scramble with hash browns, and it was delicious. My friend ordered the Catfish and Grits and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The food and our waiter helped redeem the experience, but first impressions matter. Management should ensure that every employee understands that providing basic courtesy and hospitality is everyone's responsibility, not just the hostess's. Even if greeting guests or managing the waitlist wasn't Claudia's primary role, there was no excuse for being dismissive or rude to someone walking through your front door. Alpharetta has no shortage of excellent brunch spots with both great food and outstanding customer service. Sadly, because of the way I was treated before I was even seated, I won't be returning to The Southern Porch. I also won't feel comfortable recommending it to friends or family. It's disappointing because the kitchen and our waiter did their jobs well, but one employee's attitude overshadowed what could have been an otherwise enjoyable brunch.

It's a small, popular place, and the wait can be long, especially during brunch hours. Some of my friends had to wait for almost 2hrs for the table. That said, it's a family-run style restaurant with a cozy, homey vibe, and the food is good. They serve classic Southern breakfast and brunch dishes, and most items are flavorful and comforting but compared to other brunch places the portion sizes are small. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is friendly, though service can feel a bit slow when it's busy. Overall, it's a good spot if you're craving Southern comfort food, but go with patience--or try visiting on a weekday to avoid the long wait.

The restaurant itself is beautiful with a warm, modern aesthetic and comfortable seating. They also offer outdoor seating, which would be especially nice in good weather.
