As an OHOP connoisseur, I was skeptical as the Chicago chain and family owned multi-property establishment has a long-standing 5 star reputation for consistency and adherence to the original restaurant's use of premium ingredients. Visited there on 5.29.25 Upon walking in we were greeted by the sweetest hostess. She reminded me of a Southern auntie from the Carolinas. I was surprised by how light and airy it was inside as well. So disappointed! Long story short....i went for breakfast and ordered ham and scrambled eggs (ham was one piece of ham). Noticed that parts of the ham tasted undercooked, but thought deli style ham was all precooked...so I didn't worry about sending it back.....about 6 hours later...I became violently sick...mainly throwing up. I had nothing to eat for hours before and nothing at all after that breakfast I have eaten here many times and never had an issue. They're located right off Biscayne Blvd in the Best Buy/Target shopping center with plenty of free parking around the restaurant. We dined there on a Saturday around 12pm for a late breakfast. We had to wait about 20 minutes or so on a table, but were seated promptly and had the warmest greeting by the hostess and server. My partner and my in-laws all ordered coffee to start (around $2/each), and we all ordered the eggs, home fries, and pancakes (around $11/each). All dishes were very large portions and very flavorful. It took about 20 minutes to prepare our order, but our server came by consistently to check on us and refill our coffees and all of our meals came out piping hot and fresh. We noticed the menu explained everything is made with peanut oil. We asked if there is any way to cook with a different oil. The waiter was not sure and went to ask. She got the manager which her name was Maria and highly disrespectful as she made a comment and said we should have asked before being seated. The hostess and server were friendly, attentive, and accurate. There was also no wait, so we were seated immediately. The worst part was the food, unfortunately. I was enjoying my eggs benedict until I found a huge piece of egg shell in my food (about 1" diameter). It's unsanitary and really grossed me out. The breakfast potatoes were also undercooked, so they were a bit hard. I also ordered a crepe and it was totally uninspired... cold in 5 minutes (so not served on a hot plate) and just had globs of dulce de leche instead of even drizzles.
