Yum yum yum! I loved Richard Walker's when I visited 10 months ago and had been dreaming about it ever since. The savory spinach and mushrooms crepes are simply delicious! My friend loves the German fluffy pancake and the apple pancake. So good! We also ordered baked Mediterranean Omelette with side of pancakes. Solid. No complaints. Service was friendly and attentive. Since it is in middle of Flower Hills Mall, not much in terms of views and parking can be difficult. But plan to go early to avoid the crowds. Glad we returned and hope to come back again in near future.

Richard Walker's Pancake House had been recommended to me, so I was excited to try it while in Del Mar. If you're looking for a classic breakfast spot with big portions and seriously good pancakes, this place absolutely delivers. We went on a Friday morning and were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait, which felt like a small miracle for a popular breakfast spot. Parking was also super easy with plenty of free parking available nearby, which is always a win in this area. The vibe is casual and laid-back, with a relaxed breakfast crowd and outdoor seating that makes for a really nice way to start the day. It feels like the kind of place where you can take your time, drink coffee, and enjoy a long breakfast. Of course, the star of the meal was the Baked Apple Pancake. The menu warns you ahead of time that it takes about 20 minutes to prepare, which makes sense once you see it. This thing is massive and comes out puffed up, golden brown, and filled with soft cinnamon apples. It's easily one of the most memorable breakfast dishes I've had in a while -- warm, buttery, and perfectly sweet. Another standout was the bacon, which was thick-cut and incredibly flavorful. If you're a bacon person, you'll appreciate how hearty it is. We also ordered hash browns, which were crispy and really well done. One thing to note is that the portions here are huge. You could easily share many of the dishes, which helps balance out the fact that the menu is a little on the pricey side for breakfast. Still, when you consider how much food you get, the value ends up feeling pretty fair. Service was great -- friendly, attentive. Overall, this was a fantastic breakfast experience and one I'd happily repeat.

Enjoyed our brunch as usual. No line and food were ready within 15 mins. Ordered my usual Ultimate Benediction. Runny yolk on all my poached eggs which are delicious. Well seasoned hollandaise sauce. Apple pancake - Iconic dish due to its puffy, caramelized apples with cinnamon sugar glazed. Must try dish and you won't regret it. Staff/servers were all attentive and friendly. Highly recommended if you're looking for an excellent breakfast brunch experience.

Let me preface this, I'm really not a breakfast/brunch person. I never crave it and I never really think there's anything special about it. BUT BOY was I impressed with Richard Walker's Pancake House!! I had randomly met someone over a decade ago that said that this place was THE BEST breakfast/brunch spot but I never went until now. WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING OUT ON?! Went on a Sunday morning around 11am and were immediately seated on the patio for a party of 2 and my pup. I love that they're dog friendly and have outdoor seating. We ordered the Corn Beef Hash with 2 eggs, Thick Cut Bacon with 2 eggs, and with both of these orders you can choose how to cook your eggs, we opted for Sunnyside Up. It also comes with choice of toast or hash browns and we both opted for hash browns too. We also ordered 2 sides of sausages, a cup of coffee, and what they're known for which is the baked Apple Pancake. My boyfriend who ordered the Corned Beef Hash rated the food 8.5/10, but I'm giving a solid 5 stars because everything was delicious! The sausages were probably one of the tastiest I've ever had, the bacon wasn't hard and crispy but also was not limp. There was a good texture to it. I LOVED that the hash browns were perfectly crispy (and I'm a little sad I forgot to take a picture of it for y'all). The coffee was flowing the entire meal, I think my boyfriend had at least 5 refills. And the Baked Apple Pancake actually wasn't too sweet and tasted like a flatter crepe like apple pie! I'm not a breakfast/brunch person but I would 100% come back to eat here!

I have been a to couple of the Richard walkers Pancake House locations, and both have been amazing from taste to service. My must is the pecan pancakes with no powdered sugar add a fruit a cup and it's the best. Husband has gotten the corned beef hash and is also great!

I've often seen people coming out of the place and have been curious and we had a chance to try it out with another couple. It was fantastic! We ordered the apple pancakes for the table as an appetizer and it was awesome ... a little like an apple pie, but subdued -- which, in my opinion, is a plus as sometimes they're just overwhelmingly sweet. This was just right. I had the huevos rancheros and it was very good -- maybe not amazing like the apple pancakes, but very good. My wife had the Denver omelette and it was good too. Our friends also had an omelette and also the corned beef hash on the side -- they said the corned beef was great -- and they're from NY, so they have it often. Lastly, I took a picture of my iced tea, which they served with a little mini pitcher so I didn't have to ask for a refill -- kinda cute. Overall -- we're coming back for the apple pancakes!

Another great time at Richard Walker. The waitress was super nice and patient with us. Also very accommodating when we decided last second to change our order. This time I ordered biscuits and gravy. The gravy was delicious and the hash browns are always the best. I will say for what you get, it wasn't quite filling. Next time I'll stick to my usual orders but there are so many items to choose from it's hard not to try something new!

Excellent food and service provided by the lovely Morgan. Would recommend being adventurous here and trying something new. I opted for the "Danish Harvest", a baked pancake topped with fresh broccoli, tomato, mushrooms, onions and Swiss cheese( it comes with Havarit from Denmark however ever I prefer Swiss).,,turned out to be an excellent substitution...if I may say so...LOL. Wifey was craving "old fashioned " pancakes and two eggs over easy, which very very light and delicious. She gave their coffee a 7 out of 10 and said it could have been a little stronger. They do have full and half booths. We went there on a Sunday morning and parking in that square was atrocious with obnoxious drivers blocking the pathway waiting for a spot...pro tip...use the parking structure behind Whole Foods, it's free and has plenty of parking and easy access to the mall. Enjoy !!!

First time at this location and the service was awesome. We were a party of 7 and we got seated right away on a Sunday morning. The waitress was also very nice and got all our orders correct. The food was good. Came out hot and fresh. Best part is that we didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive. Their shared parking lot gets filled up pretty quickly so you either have to bring your patient or come early. Thank you Richard Walkers Pancake House for hospitality. When we are in the area again we will definitely stop by and try something else on your menu.

Great food and service. Nice comfortable atmosphere. Stop here every year when we attend the Boardroom Show at the Del Mar Racetrack. One complaint. Their prices are extremely high. Their food costs are only 10% or less of what the charge for it.

Paid by card. Richard Walker's is upstairs in the plaza next to Whole Foods and offers a lot of plaza parking. I went here on a Wednesday afternoon was was able to be seated right away. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, and my party and I opted for outdoor seating because of the nice breeze. My party and I ordered the Dutch baby, cherry crepe, green tea, and coffee. Everything was good. I think I liked the Dutch baby the best. The host was very nice and attentive. I would recommend this place and would go back.

They perfectly bread the chicken and the homemade country gravy it adds that extra goodness to the meal. I also love their fresh-pressed juices, and I usually request a plantation iced tea -- iced tea mixed with pineapple juice. So refreshing! The decor is adorable too. It has a cozy farmhouse café vibe that makes the whole place feel warm and inviting. And the bread pudding from Sunny Side is definitely worth mentioning. I usually don't like bread pudding, but this is far from ordinary. It's made with croissants and chocolate, drizzled with chocolate sauce, dusted with powdered sugar, served with raspberries, and strawberries. You have to add the ice cream...cause why not? Absolutely indulgent and perfect for sharing. Totally worth those extra calories! Overall, we'll definitely keep dining here. This Achilles Coffee is tucked smack dab in the middle of a health-centric mall surrounded by wellness centers, nutritional experts, and yoga studios. The decent sized parking lot is typically busy but has a good churn throughout the day. There's street parking too and the commuter rail nearby for those looking for a light walk. With seating outside on both the ground level and up on the roof, it's a perfect spot to soak in some sun, breathe in the ocean air, and have a sip and a bite in this quiet part of town. The menu here is comprehensive with coffee (espresso, pour overs, cold brew), teas, specialty drinks, as well as breakfast and light bites to pair with a good start to the morning. We primarily came for a coffee run but a few of our team members decided to visit for breakfast the following day and from what I've heard, they're solid with the food! I look forward to coming back to give their bites a try. In theme for Saint Patrick's Day, they had a few special drinks but I opted for a traditional flat white this time. They had milk options but as a traditionalist, I went with whole milk. The coffee had great flavor and balance. The richness was bold and rounded out after every sip. I was tempted to grab a couple bags on my way out but seeing they had free shipping for online orders over $40 (about two bags), I decided to save some luggage space and order some when I was back home. The staff were friendly and efficient. I was impressed how many of them they were able to fit behind the small work area but they were experienced and worked collectively as a team. The drinks were prepared quick and for those liking them hot, you will be pleased with the freshness of that first sip. Overall, Achilles Coffee is a perfect small batch roaster to visit while you're in San Diego to get a great cup of coffee, a breakfast to go with it, and some bags of single origin or blend to bring back home for your own brew. And if you're interested in trying them out before you visit or just looking to restock, consider checking out their website and order from there. They even have a sampler to try their in-season batches. I guess their only Achilles' heel is that there aren't more of them but with five spots all across San Diego county, at least a San Diegan (or visitor) can get a taste of the sweet nectar marketed under this Greek warrior's moniker.

I went with the golden milk latte to drink, and it was fabulous. I did have them add a shot of espresso to it because when I was ordering a latte, I definitely was looking for caffeine. It's lovely with turmeric, cinnamon, oat milk, MCT oil and black pepper. I also ordered the Hot Chick salad. It came out looking gorgeous. The salad tasted really good, the chicken was seasoned nicely, and I liked the different textures with the rice, the quinoa and the roasted corn. The dressing was super tasty too. When I got towards the end of my salad, my last few pieces of avocado were bad. It wasn't a dealbreaker for my experience, but I would've definitely preferred that they would've left those pieces out. Also, the little toasted cracker things tasted like cardboard, dry and flavorless. I probably should've tried scooping up some of the salad with them, but I left them on the plate. Overall, I would definitely return to this location. You cannot beat them if you are looking for something fast, casual, and healthy. Definitely not on the cheap though, my salad and latte were $34 before tip, but I don't mind paying for good quality food that is fresh and healthy.
